This was my first time trying Alfah, an Indian and Chinese food fusion restaurant, and I thought my experience went pretty well. I was with my family and we were the only people dining it at the time for a late lunch. There were a few people that came in but I think they were just ordering take out. We ordered main dishes: chicken tikka masala, mutton biriyani, chicken 65, and palak dal. We also ordered beef, chicken, and veggie samosas and gulab jamun. Positives/favorite dishes: mutton biriyani, chicken 65, and palak dal, veggie samosa. Spice level was great, it really sneaks up on you! Portion sizes for each dish are large enough to feed a family of four! Least favorite: beef and chicken samosa- both samosas did not have much flavor and wasn't our favorite.Chicken tikka masala- we didn't like this dish as much as the others was because it wasn't creamy enough and it did not come with plain rice. I also did not like the fact that some dishes did not come with rice... we did order garlic naan and that was very good but I believe that all dishes (that aren't rice/noodle dishes) should come with plain rice. Overall, i had a great experience and i would definitely come back to try other items on the menu!

Small restaurant behind Patel Plaza, with lovely service and rich food. Counter service with a good but not excessive menu. The Hyderabad chicken came with a delicious curry and the tandoori chicken was well cooked with a great taste.

We ordered the tandoori chicken, dal tadka, and whole wheat roti. The tandoori chicken was very well cooked and seasoned but be aware that it takes about 20-25 minutes as they bake it fresh when ordered. The interior is cute and the booth seating comfy. All of the staff were very kind and friendly.

It was a late night, and I was in the mood for something exotic for dine in. Alfah closed at 11PM, so I figure I'd give it a try. As I walked in, there was a buffet at the back of the restaurant, and it looked like I was crashing a family party. The two little ladies on staff confirmed it was a private event, so for me, it would be take-out only. The menu looked great, and I said I would be back some day. "What's wrong?," they asked, expecting me to order. I explained that if it had to be take-out at this hour, then I might as well just go home and fix a sandwich myself for free. Then they switched gears and insisted I dine in!So, I snuggled into a booth as the other patrons gave me curious looks. I ordered dal tadka ($7.99) and butter nan ($2.49) X2. Although the dal tadka was not as thick as I usually like it, the spices exuded a delightful aroma, and the stew warmed me up inside. As I started to run low on the nan, I regretted not ordering the Chicken Dum Biryani instead ($12.99) because I could have gotten more food for about the same price of my total order. Then again, I didn't want a heavy meal that hour.As the party around me wound down, I noticed the buffet still had trays half full of food. Not wanting anything to go to waste, it was my ethical duty to pull one of the little ladies aside and inquire whether I could sample some before they threw it all away. She clarified that they would divvy it up among themselves but still offered me a taste of mutton biryani. The biryani was fantastic, just like I've had before in Hyderabad! The rice was fluffy, steamy, aromatic, and loaded with spiced up meaty mutton goodness! As I finished the biryani, the little lady stopped by again and asked if I wanted more before they took the trays to the back. What a golden opportunity! But of course! I asked for a bit of the Chicken 65 this time. Even though their version was a tad saucier than usual, it was the best I've had in Atlanta! The spices were complex, abundant, and packed with zest...just like in India!Under this new management since May 2023, they've pared down the menu. You won't find haleem, dosas, kababs, or chats anymore. Still, the new menu is enough to make it interesting, including Indo-Chinese food! I appreciate that the little ladies were so kind and generous with the samples. Maybe I'll try the Chicken Dum Biryani next time!

Amazing service and great food. We ordered tandoori chicken and Afghani chicken. I don't like too spice food. The afgani chicken was perfect. For dessert we ordered icecream with gulab jamun. It was out of this world. A must try and best I had in years !!

Our 28 year old granddaughter wanted to eat at an authentic Indian restaurant for her birthday. Our whole family of 10 enjoyed it. It is family owned and the food was prepared by the daughter and her mom. It was beautifully served and there was lots of so many dishes. The Nam came in Butter Nan, Garlic Nam and Firey Nam. Most of the family live hit and sorbet and that is their speciality. We had a wonderful time and felt very welcome.

I had an amazing experience at Alfah Restaurant in Decatur! The food was absolutely fantastic. For starters, we had Pani puri shots which were awesome. The Chicken 65 was incredibly flavorful, and the Chicken Tikka was equally impressive. The Mutton Biryani was on point, and I couldn't get enough of the Hyderabadi Murgh Masala. To top it all off, the Ras Malai was a delightful sweet way to end the meal. The service was very quick and accommodating. The ambiance was family friendly. I highly recommend Alfah Restaurant for a delicious dining experience!
