242 Pub & Grill - Willis

Been twice and thought it was pretty good. Mgr Trey is a patriot who takes great pride in his work

We stopped coming here except on a rare occasion and we used to be regulars. Enjoy the food but really get turned off with silly stuff like no prices on the menus and BS up charges... Want extra sauce? Extra charge. Pick your two sides? Oh wait, onion rings and garden salad are $2 extra. And none of that, nor the prices are on the menu. It's not about $2, but this place is no high end steakhouse, and these little up charges definitely won't make or break my bank, but these are beyond annoying and take away from what would otherwise be a nice neighborhood joint.I wish they'd go back to that and stop the Spirit Airlines BS. Gonna try some other neighborhood joints.

We've eaten here twice in the last month and both times we had terrible service. Once, I get it but we tried again and it was even worse. I'm not sure we'll ever come back.

We took family to dinner here on a Sunday afternoon. My niece and I both had drinks (mimosa for her and bloody Maria for me). The both were $3.99. The prices were great, and the food delicious. My niece said it was the best fish and chips ever! Her kids,6 and 3, chowed down the macaroni and cheese! Next time we visit them we're going again!

This place is always HIT or MISS. Tonight it's a MISS big time! We ordered "our usual " appetizer- the Oscar dip. It was NOTHING like it is usually. Missing ingredients like fresh jalapeños- big ingredient for me. My husband ordered a burger and I ordered 6 wings as our meal, and we have waited for over an hour snd 15 min. As of now. My husband told the waitress to just box everything up, because he still has work to do once we get home. We arrived at 6:45 snd it is now 8:00 and still no food is even ready to go. The inside smells HORRIBLE (like dirty mop water, or worse) so we had to sit outside. My husband now asked to speak to the manager and he refused to even talk to him. To say the least, we will not return until there is new management. Ok

This place is such a great place. Excellent service!!! Very clean! I have never been disappointed in anything I've ever ordered! I actually wanted to think and rave about the staff. I recently went with my children and my son somehow ended up with crawfish juice in his eye. the staff was awesome trying to help him from getting ice to looking up ideas on the Internet how to help him and even the cook came out and talk to him and was so awesome with the story about how the crawfish seasoning juice was equivalent to being pepper sprayed. ( Thank you! It really helped, it was the cool status) Best waitress ever Brandi L thank you for being you and always making our night!

They are never open and cut half the menu items.Tried to stop at 9pm on a Thursday evening and they were closing. Whats the point of having this place if they kill their business by not being consistent. Use to be such a great hang out.

Now called 1097 Pub. Place is remodeling and cleaning up. Full bar and drinks are great. Been here two time and service has been very good. Good pub food.

This is a Willie's wannabe. It's always packed full of the usual suspects and it's just bar food. It's full of TVs.If you wanna get drunk and slam some fried whatever, this could be your place.

This location is almost always a a hit or miss in regards to both service and quality level of food. I'll give you the full run down as someone who has eaten here multiple times.American Food... 7/10: Pretty much everything is safe, most of not all dishes offering large portions. I recommend any of their burgers, wing flavors (extra crispy boneless is my go to), chicken fried steak/chicken; fried mushrooms... pretty much anything fried is My fav side would have to be their Sweet Potato Waffle Fries. They aren't advertised on the menu, but if you ask, they will usually oblige. Seafood... 5/10: Stay away from the seared ahi tuna - I got food poisoning a couple of years back; one of the worst seafood experiences I've ever had. Their crawfish honestly isn't all that great either; overcooked, greedily seasoned and really hard to peel. If you order catfish I would order blackened as their fish fry was flavor lacking. Fried shrimp is amazing. Fish and chips are great too. ~ The More You Know ~Dine In Experience... 7/10: Be prepared to wait at least an hour if during lunch or on weekends. Don't sit outside unless you are with friends ordering drinks and apps - they tend to forget about you. I recall on more than one occasion having to track down the waiter for drink refills which is no bueno. Sit in the bar area if looking a quick in-and-out experience. If you can't find a server, let one of bartenders know. They can take food orders as well. To Go Orders... 4/10: Stay away from anything fried unless you are within 10 miles from the restaurant (goes for all locations) unless you enjoy eating soggy food. That or simply pick it up and keep food containers cracked open/poke holes in top to allow ventilation. That should go without saying, I know, but I can't tell you how many times I've been disappointed with fried to go orders. --My advice: Give it a shot if skeptical! If you are unhappy with the food, be sure to let your servers/manager know, especially if it was something specific. Service aside most of the time they will remake your order. Like anything else, restaurants cannot make improvements without customer feedback! I am an advocate for giving restaurants a second chance to make things right. I likely wouldn't be writing this review if I believed otherwise. --Overall Rating - 6/10 (or 3/5) Stars.Summary: 242 Pub is a pretty good place to eat if you're looking for a casual atmosphere, semi-reasonably priced drinks and slightly above average "bar food"... With that being said, there are much better restaurants to choose from around Willis and going into the Conroe area.
