Absolute must! I just had one of the best filets I've had in a lonnnnnng time. I travel for work every week and often seek out a good steak. It seems I've been on a bad run for months now. Either cooked wrong or over seasoned with nonsense. If you have a good filet, you don't need all the BS!!! 1836 must understand this. It was a perfect cut of meat, cooked to perfection. It did sit on a light sauce (red wine based I believe), but it wasn't soaked in it. I added the lyonnaise potatoes which were also on point. Because I travel alone, I sit at the bar. This was another A+ experience! The bartender was so friendly and attentive. And he made a pretty fine Old Fashioned! I highly recommend paying him a visit. Thank you for the lovely experience Jonathon!

Stopped in on a road trip and absolutely LOVED this place. Faith was our server and they were competent, quick, and very nice. (Super cute makeup too) The steak was one of the best I've had in a restaurant and that risotto..../... WOW. They make a different risotto possibly daily and I would love to try more if I lived in the area. Def worth a stop!

Birthday dinner! Started with a Dirty Martini, very nice! Had the goat cheese for an appetizer, it's our favorite! And of course the happy hour sirloin! Cooked to perfection with an au poiver sauce! Delicious! The bacon Mac n cheese is amazing, Jeremy our server was so knowledgeable and gave suggestions along with being a great server! The atmosphere is relaxed and casual. The bananas foster was so fun and delicious! And I even got cheesecake for my birthday!

Well, we tried again and gave this place another chance. I thought it couldn't be worse than the last time we visited but I was wrong. Mother's Day was destroyed by a 2 1/2 hour dining time. 30 minute wait for a pitcher of mimosas. Chicken fried steak was burned, Brussels spouts were burned, and there was a 45 minute wait for a children's chicken strip meal. My grandchildren resorted to eating rolls to stave off hunger. It was one hour from the time we ordered to the time we received our food. Our server (Eli) was missing most of the meal and drinks went empty for 20+ minutes. Don't visit this restaurant if you value a good dining experience when paying top dollar for the food.

She had the Steak Diane which came with green beans and potato. I had the Chicken Cordon Blue which came with mashed potatoes and green beans. We ended with a slice of Raspberry Cheesecake cake to go. In my opinion, the cheesecake seemed a bit meager, but she enjoyed it. I loved the ambience of the restaurant and will definitely be back.

Great Service and beautiful ambience in a wonderfully renovated building.Food is WAY Way WAY overpriced. My chicken fried steak was tough and the size of an IPhone: $24.00.It did, however, come with a side of mashed potatoes!! Gimme a break!

Loving the vibe at 1836. We came for a bachelorette dinner and sat upstairs in a little attic. It's a little darker up there, but we enjoyed it. Had reservations for 6pm on a Saturday. Were seated immediately and the host was welcoming. We found out from our waiter that happy hour ends at 6:30 (it's from 4:30-6:30, Tues-Sat, so they had (I think) $3 off appetizers, in addition to drink specials. We were able to order wine, our appetizers and food.We got the following: Complimentary bread (5/5), bread was soft and warm, soooo yummy! SUNDRIED TOMATO BRUSCHETTA (5/5)FRIED GREEN TOMATOES (5/5), they gave us ranch, and it was perfectly cooked and not too much batter. For dinner, all of us got the 8oz sirloin. I ordered mine medium rare and it came out perfectly. My friend ordered the same and it was more rare, so we sent it back to sear a bit more and that worked out nicely. We each got different sides thinking we could share, but the sides were definitely not shareable (besides the mac/cheese and brussel sprouts), lol. The only complaint I have is how long it took for us to get our steaks. Apps came out in a timely manner, but the steaks took over an hour to get which was frustrating. I understand the kitchen might get backed up, but that made the experience less fun.

Cool atmosphere we sat upstairs in the bar / loft and loved it. Great steak! Sides were a little small but delicious. Nice dinner place with reasonable steakhouse prices. Would definitely return.
