I'm surprised this place doesn't have higher reviews! The did was all incredible. They have a huge menu with tons of options; truly something for everyone - even if you don't love sushi. The service was great, very prompt, and courteous. Thanks, Alina! The food was absolutely delicious. I had the yellowtail appetizer, which was fresh and packed with flavor! The miso soup was large and filled with small pieces of tofu, lots of seaweed, and green onions. Very filling. I also really enjoyed the baked muscles. They were some of the best I ever had. I also had the Thai Mai cocktail, and it was large and boozy, so I really enjoyed it. It's very refreshing with island flavors. The ambiance was nice. It's very clean and upscale. Parking was a bit of a challenge, but besides that, everything was great! I would highly recommend this place.

This place has really gone down. The service was bad. The food was mediocre. And the tables are dirty. Hasly was our server (if that's what you want to call it) and she barely spoke to us at all. She would basically fly in and drop something off at the table and run away - actually she would hand you everything, including screaming hot plates without a word of caution. Trying to get a drink out of her was like taking a shot at a runaway horse. To start off there were 6 of us for a lil post-work dinner and they tried to seat us at a booth. I don't know about you but I don't care to be sat 3 abreast at a booth with my coworkers, but that was the least of it. We asked to be seated at the adjacent tables and they said yes. This was where I got my first glimpse at the cleanliness (see photo); they popped down the leaf to join the tables and crumbs fell to the floor. With the amount of food particles and dried sauces wedged in the crack I'm SHOCKED they could get the leaf down. 3 of the 6 of us got water - the rest of use were SOL. We saw they had 22oz beers and ordered a round, but 12oz beers arrived. My coworker ordered a different beer and got the 22oz. Hmmm....more on that later. Our group ordered a mix of apps for the table and entrees - it all came at the same time. Lazy serving. We attempted to flag Hasly down several times for refills (she never once offered or asked if we needed anything). One woman in our group was missing the sauce with her lettuce wraps and she asked for some but there was no response from Hasly. When one of us asked a second time, Hasly replied "Yeah I heard you". Maybe if you acknowledged us we wouldn't ask twice. One coworker tried to order a second cocktail but it never arrived. What did arrive was our bill - just kinda out of nowhere while we were still drinking.I looked at my tab and I was charged full price for my NOT 22oz beer. I had had enough so I grabbed a menu from the host and flagged down the manager. She explained that she couldn't get the 22oz size for some of them. Which.. okay, I get it, I've worked in restaurants before... but don't charge me the same amount. My coworker got damn near twice as much beer and we were charged the same. We went back and forth and she offered me another beer which I refused - I was tired. I don't want to hang out in your sub-par restaurant anymore. I want to be charged a fair amount for the regular sized beer. The manager (who never introduced herself to a customer with a complaint) said "fine, I'll just comp the beer". Im not asking for a free beer... I'm asking for you to realize your menu prices need adjusting.Went to sit down and the manager brought me a new receipt - but it was for the wrong person. 3 of us ordered the 22oz beer but she only compensated one of us, and it wasn't me. You mean to tell me you went through the whole table and saw all these unfair beer charges and only decided to comp one of us??? I handed her my new receipt (that wasn't even mine) but in the end I was still charged full price - Hasly saw to that.Never going back. Your Asian nachos are an abomination of tackiness and poor "fusion".

We stopped here after seeing all the vegetarian sushi options on the menu. It worked out very well for our family. We ordered a couple noodle dishes, a veggie sushi platter, and a couple classic fish sushi rolls. We all shared and everyone was happy. Great experience! Many of the negative reviews complained about poor service, but we were seated immediately and the staff was friendly and attentive.

I am beginning to think I am permanently doomed with food since moving to the Denver area. I went with co-workers. Everyone had been here multiple times and everyone raved about this place. I am not used to sushi tasting like fish. If it's salmon, which is a strong tasting fish - - maybe a hint of salmon in the background. But my co-workers gobbled it down! I am perplexed! I ate piece of each of our rolls and stopped. We had the Dynamite, and some other specialty rolls with cream cheese and spicy tuna... and they all strongly tasted like fish. I slathered them with wasabi and they tasted like fish. Maybe it's just Colorado. Maybe I have been spoiled living in SoCal my whole life. But I am reading the reviews, and it would appear maybe I am not too off with my assessment? Dear Zen Sushi: I really don't think sushi is meant to taste like fish.

We eat here every time I come to Denver because we know everyone can find something they like, and the food always comes out consistent. I always order the Asian nachos as well as edamame to get started. I've ordered different bowls but have really been sticking to rolls the last few visits because they are so good and easy to share.Service is always fantastic, and we sit in the sushi area so we can watch the chefs at work and relax. I love the variety of foods available. And who thinks about dessert? We did... and it was worth it!!!

I had just finished a job interview and was craving sushi. Since Zen Asian Sushi Bar & Grill was relatively close to my hotel, I decided to hop over.Upon arriving, I noticed that the restaurant was packed. Nevertheless, I was immediately greeted and seated at the sushi bar. Unfortunately, the fast service ended there, as it took an unreasonably long amount of time for the waitress to hand me the menu. I ended up ordering multiple pieces of nigiri. To my delight, the sushi chefs did not cheap out on the seafood. I had large cuts of fish and squid atop my sushi rice. Additionally, all pieces of nigiri were beautifully presented. My only complaint is that I didn't get enough rice. Most nigiri pieces I order from other restaurants contain about twice as much rice as the pieces you get here. In fact, some nigiri pieces I had at Zen Asian Sushi Bar & Grill contained laughably small amounts of sushi rice.

I've been coming to Zen for years and this last experience was very different. Not bad but you can tell the restaurant went under a change of management. The money trees at the entrance are now at a minimum of two and makes the entrance not as intimate as it use to be. It's still a beautiful restaurant inside just the little things like music playing, the money trees etc made the place a very comfortable place to be.We had the chicken honey walnut, Japanese Salmon, avocado roll, backed green mussels & the California roll. Everything was great.Alina was such a nice waitress, very accommodating, helped us to with ordering... even packing and banging our food. I still recommend giving them a try if you haven't been, and to continue trying new options from their menu if you would like to give them another try.

Not necessarily greeted but was told right away it would be a 5-10 wait with a smile. We were sat towards the bar at the high top. Ronnie was our server/bartender, super adorable but it was obvious she was under a lot of stress with her being solo bartending and serving. It was apparent there was some sort of manager sitting at the corner bar with little care about her surroundings. I pained me to see the little team work there was here and if it wasn't for our bartender and her great spirit this place would be rated lower. Started off with the Zen lettuce wraps which I found bland and when asked for spicy sauce or Hot oil I was presented with little packets which threw off the vibe for the experience I was trying to have. I was really excited for the pad Thai and unfortunately it just didn't hit the spot. This taste soupy and like burned peanuts and bc our waitress was already over it I didn't want to add on to it and return my order . So it's pretty safe to say it doesn't look promising for me to return but best wishes to Ronnie
