As a dedicated foodie, I couldn't resist trying out Zara Halal food in Lansdale, and boy was it worth the visit! Don't let the fact that it's located inside a gas station deter you, my fellow foodies - the rave reviews from my local foodie group were spot on.I couldn't resist ordering two meals, one with fish, one with lamb and chicken. As soon as I took my first bite, I knew I was in for a treat. The flavors were simply addictive, and with every bite, I found myself wanting more. While Zara Halal food isn't the fanciest sit-down restaurant, it doesn't need to be. The quality of the food more than makes up for the lack of frills. Personally, I can't wait to order takeout from this place - and the fact that they offer DoorDash means I can indulge in their delicious dishes from the comfort of my own home. Don't hesitate to give Zara Halal food a try - your taste buds will thank you!

Located in the Exxon gas station, to my surprise. I thought I was going to a restaurant to sit down and eat. The Lamb Gyro was pretty good and fresh. I do not normally eat at gas stations and was taken back when I arrived. However, I'm an hour away from home and needed something to eat fast... then get back on the road. The lettuce and tomatoes were very fresh. The lamb was the consistency of lamb meatballs, chopped up. it only cost $10. Not bad if you're on the road and do not have a lot of time. Once you can get past the fact that it's in the gas station. I sat in my car and ate. And then got back on the road.

Yes!! This place nails it with the food and flavor. It's your classic hole in the wall place that one would never think of even getting any sort of food in, but one that's a gem in hiding. I am originally from the nyc area and was spoiled with amazing falafel and shawarma food...Halal carts/Mamouns etc and have been craving some good middle eastern sandwiches. The falafel sandwich was crisp and fresh, flavorful, and filling. Fries were freshly made. And the men behind the counter were very nice. This will be a go to!

For $9.53, this meal is definitely not worth it if you live remotely close to Philadelphia. You can get higher quality food from the food trucks on the road down in the city for $6, and it'll come with a drink as well. For almost double the price, you're paying for less meat, a cold piece of naan, and a unfriendly service. When I went up to put in my order at the register, the cashier didn't even bother to try making eye contact with me, or look in my direction for that matter. The cashier was also not wearing a mask, and only had a single glove on his hand (the cashier was also the one frying the falafels). There was also no hand sanitizer or social distancing going on in the cramped waiting area for the food. As far as COVID guidelines go, they probably weren't following a single one...The food itself wasn't all the great in my opinion either, especially for the price you're paying for. They tossed in a cold piece of naan, which was nice I suppose since the trucks down in the city don't come with naan. However, the worker took the cold pre-cooked piece of naan out of the packaging, tossed it on the stove top for 30 seconds and then put it in my take-out box. It was still pretty cold when I ate it, 5ish minutes afterwards. The salad that it comes with was an interesting addition, but it doesn't make up for the less meat that you get overall by getting your food here.If you're really in the mood for some "halal food" (aka. chicken over rice) out here then it'll give you your quick fix. But definitely if you're closer to the city, don't make the trip to come out here to try them, it's not worth your money or your time. What I ordered:Combo Rice Platter - Chicken Rice Platter & Lamb Rice Platter (~1:30pm Wed.)

DON'T place an online order. They don't check their system. I showed up 30 minutes after ordering and they had no idea they had received an order. I had to stand around for another 20 minutes for them to make the food. Also, the food sucked.

Following the advice of Dan A, I didn't let the idea of grabbing a bite from a place located in a gas station bother me. I now will share the same advice. Zara Halal food might not be where you'd expect it, however, they do make some good food.We both ordered the combo. We got lamb & falafel and lamb & chicken. The portions on the protein were heavy. They taste was incredible as well. I will admit to getting the hot sauce on the side. While it wasn't as hot as I expected, I did enjoy the meal more with a bit less sauce.Prices are cheap. Not the cheapest meal I've ever gotten cheap, but definitely a good value for the portions. And while there isn't much dine in space, the staff was patient and friendly. I'd return if I am back in the area.

I have been eating here since May of 2020 or earlier. It has always been five stars. On 03/06/23 I placed a pickup order. I took four platters across the street to the park and ate with my lady friend and two daughters. The food was AMAZING. Rice was always good but there was new recipe, possibly including tamarind and dates. The proteins were very good as usual though the falafel was phenomenal! The phone number doesn't always work but the staff is always friendly.I tried the shrimp once and I was thrilled with it. But, everything else has been tasty:-chicken-lamb-rice platters-gyros-samosas-kebabs-falafel-white sauce-red sauce

Very disturbing occurrences on two different visits recently. My son just returned from picking up food at Zara's, where he has gone for several years. One of the men on duty where you pay for non-food items told the Zara employee in Hindi, which my son understands but doesn't speak, "when he comes in, charge him $3.00 extra." The price all the times before today was $11.40 for his regular rice and chicken order. My son called the man out and the man said he was only kidding; however, my son said the man had been serious when he told the other employee to overcharge him. On a prior visit, my son had paid $35 for his gas (Zara's is in a gas station building; you pay Zara's for your food, and the gas station for any gas, drinks, sundries) and the man told him "Oh, it didn't go through, I have to charge you again." My son checked his bank account and saw that the charge had gone through and he refused to give his card for a second time. He showed the man the gas charge of $35 on his online statement. The man then told my son that he had given him a discount "last time" and so my son owed him $4.00 for this visit. My son refused to pay the $4.00 and left. Zara's has always been a place where you could get good halal food, but now we feel the suspicious/offensive behavior of the employees at both Zara's and the gas station far outweigh the food. This place is a no-go for us now. I would recommend being very careful when buying food or gas.
