Decent little spot that could really shine if they wanted. I had the double pork chop special with Mac and cheese, collard greens, green beans and corn bread. The chops were thin and tender, in a tasty gravy. Mac and cheese was average to good. Collard greens were great, and the green beans were also pretty good. Cornbread wasn't anything special but was good. My biggest issue with most everything was the temperature. Luke warm at best and cold at worst. But it did taste good so I'm a little conflicted....I really prefer my food to be near piping hot. Not sure if because we were early or what.Not sure I feel the need to go back. Maybe if someone told me they improved some things.

Worst soul food I've ever had, from present to taste. The Greens were so salty you could literally see it in the juice. Sweet potatoes weren't sweet. I couldn't tell you what the Mac and cheese taste like because they were drowning in greens juice and covered in sweet potatoes. The chicken was so dry and bland it straight to the trash. The store owner, Gwen, rang me out and I got home and noticed my recipe didn't match the charge on my card and she padded the total.

A drive down Antoine lead me to stop here for lunch. I didn't expect the place to be as large as it was based on the exterior. The menu is pretty straight forward and there are plenary of options. I settled on the meatloaf with yams and green beans. The food was great I must say and for $12 I couldn't complain. The next time I'm in the area I will def stop in for a plate.

This place has come a long way in the last 2 years. After choosing to never go back, my friend insisted that I give it another try. Food was fresh, delicious, and no longer the salt bomb I remember. I've added it back to my list of places, and you guys should try it too!

I've been coming here for more than two decades and the service, food, and atmosphere has always been family oriented. Nothing but love for them and from them.

I walked in with very high expectations! But sadly it didn't meet up to my standards I was hoping for during this visit. Customer service was good! The owner has a funny outgoing personality! We were accidentally over charged it was corrected but im still waiting on my funds to be returned to my card. The cashier counted to many plates and charged us an extra one. The ambiance is a relaxing home feeling! Where you can also feel the old soul of the restaurant and history. Sadly when I got down to the end of my plate it was a BUG in the remainder of my food. I was so disappointed! It was to late to say anything at that point. The chicken was ok I don't think it was cooked fully and like other reviews state the food is not hot! It's lukewarm ( a little cold). The food wasn't bad but it was just ok. The collard greens were suspicious I couldn't tell if it was from out of an old can. I left with mixed feelings not sure if I'll return.

The vegetables food is not authentic , the corn ,collars green was straight from a cab w/no season at all, the oxtail was not fully cooked, the man behind the counter wears no gloves while preparing your food, he have so many rings on his hands too ! The food is not good, my mother always say ...you get what you pay for, people don't waist your money!

Food wasn't seasoned, I got the baked chicken which was dry, rice & gravy & the gravy wasn't seasoned, Mac n cheese & yams. I had to add seasoning to everything Ontop of that I drove 30mins to this place. Customer service I'd give a 3 star theyre not welcoming & pretty straight forward. I won't be returning.
