Yellowtail Sushi & Ramen

I stopped by Yellowtail Sushi & Ramen for dinner on a Tuesday. Located in the same shopping center as TJ's Filipino Cuisine, parking won't be an issue. Yellowtail reminds me of restaurants in Japan. It's a small and narrow restaurant. Good times. I was initially impressed with their menu but opted for no sushi this time around. We started off with the Japanese Fried Chicken Bites which are essentially breaded chicken tenders with a Japanese twist. Not bad by any means, a little oily, but so-so overall. From there I went with the Tonkotsu Ramen. This is your traditional pork broth ramen and it was served with the usual accompaniments including noodles, pork chasu, nori, an egg, and scallions. I have had some good ramen in my day so there's a certain standard I'm expecting. The broth was not flavorful enough to live up to this standard. Like the Japanese Fried Chicken, just so-so. While the restaurant is nice and I liked the decor, the food did not impress. Service was solid.

First time visiting here, and we were honestly delightfully surprised by this local gem!We got a chicken teriyaki bento box, 1 piece of uni, and a black tonkatsu ramen. The chicken teriyaki was only ok, but I did enjoy the veggie tempura that came included in the bento box. The uni had a nice smoky flavor, and my husband really enjoyed his ramen. The interior is nicely decorated and service was very attentive. We'll be back!

5/2/24 - We recently tried a new restaurant in Pearland called Nishiki. Our final verdict is Yellowtail. It is still the best sushi restaurant in Pearland. Ambiance might be not as nice as the new restaurant but food is so much better. Nigiri and Rolls are more flavorful. Fish was more fresh here and bigger as well. You get more bang for your buck. We finally took our kids and they loved the panko fried pork cutlet and chicken tempura. Yellowtail is our restaurant in Pearland for sushi without a doubt!

This is the first time that I got to dine in and eat. It has a nice cozy traditional Japanese ramen store vibe and I liked the place but the only issue was the slowness of service. It may be short handed but it took forever to get our food. We ordered simple veggie rolls, sweet potato roll, cucumber salad and veggie ramen. Ramen came first after 15 mins of waiting but the sushi and cucumber salad took forever like nearly 50 mins and no orders for them so we left after having a bowl of noodles Twas a good one but I could say that they could reduce a little bit of saltiness. Definitely improve the serving speed tho. My friends were excited about veggie rolls and sweet potato rolls but never came...Anyways, slow but foods seem to be good so if anyone who has time and wanna try out then this place is for you. Decided to give another sushi spot a go & this spot did not disappoint. I decided to get the Black Garlic Ramen & wow! The broth had so much flavor it was just delicious world of garlic. The noodles had a good texture & tasted homemade. As an appetizer I got the baby octopus I was first hesitant on getting it but good thing I went ahead with because the octopus was cooked to perfection & had good flavor. I also order the Love Sushi & I was pleasantly surprised how much I liked Tuna it was soooooo good! Overall the place had a exceptional service & the decor of the place was beautiful.

Yellowtail Sushi & Ramen is literally a hidden gem. Their location is hidden from the main road, so if you never drive down Country Place you would never know they existed. They have THE BEST and FRESHEST nigiri/sashimi in Pearland. Certain pieces are imported from Japan (no one else in Pearland does this) The masu salmon melts in your mouth. The amaebi shrimp was amazing, the heads are lightly fried. They have the best eel sushi as well. It comes out slightly warm and crisp, never had anything like it. All sushi pieces are sliced on the larger side.If you frequent Uchi or Kata Robata, this place is for you! You would appreciate this.If you don't eat sushi, their ramen is solid. My go to is the original tonkotsu. Highly recommend this restaurant!Check their website for hours because they are closed on certain days and times.

We come to Yellowtail at least once a week. It is probably the best sushi and ramen in the Houston area. It is always fresh and we leave happy every time. We really like the spicy edamame, spicy chicken chili oil ramen, spicy tuna roll, summer roll, sunrise roll, in love roll, the list goes on! The service is always great and attentive. We have brought a few friends and family to try it and they too have fallen in love!

DON'T DO IT!! Don't pass this chance up to taste some of the best sushi you have ever had. This place is absolutely amazing. Cozy and quaint. The sushi is the absolute best. Everything tastes super fresh and full of flavors. The chefs hands add that little extra that you can't explain on the menu. This is the spot for sushi in Pearland!

I was craving some ramen noodles and had seen this place recommended on my Yelp homepage previously. The restaurant is a tad bit small but we were able to find seating pretty quickly. I ordered the spicy ramen and miso soup which were both very delicious and reasonably priced. Our waiter was good and checked in on us frequently and also gave us a run down of their new menu. I'd definitely return and I'd love to try the sushi as well.

This was the first time being here and I have to say, it one of the best Sushi we've ever eaten. I can't believe we haven't come here sooner.
