small, cozy byob place. quick and kind service and good portions. donkatsu bento: katsu is good, a little tough. strong pickled ginger and wasabi that clears your nostrils but not much else. cali roll is fine but rice was not slightly tangy as usual sushi rice is. miso soup is ok, salad was ok (a little hard to eat due to the veg size) and shumai was good. side rice is a little unnecessary but good.

My partner and I ordered takeout tonight and were surprised to find our fish was mostly inedible. We've ordered from yellowtail a few times in the past and, although unremarkable, it was totally serviceable. This time however, most of the fish in our sushi deluxe had definitely gone bad. I could not eat the tuna or what i believe was seabass because of the rotten taste. Salmon was okay, and our rolls (Alaska, spicy tuna, & yellowtail) were fine, but we ended up having to throw out the rest. Sad to say this is the last time we'll be ordering from yellowtail.

Fresh sushi rolls, unlike I've barely seen before. Reason, the rolls served at Yellowtail are so small, you could miss one of the six slices in one roll. A positive, if you indicate gluten free on your order, they'll provide Tamari sauce. I didn't read reviews prior. But, was curious why they were average. The overall opinion is accurate, but, apparently, in an overinflated marketplace, the owners chose to differentiate for all the wrong reasons.

I am sorry what in the mayo is this?? It looks like something else and not mayo. It tastes like dry shrimp, old lettuce, and cheap mayo rice sandwich. You must be kidding me. I don't recall it to be April 1, otherwise I'd take it as a Fool's Day joke. Maybe your chef woke up and suddenly forgot his entire menu? Otherwise I cannot explain this Boston sushi roll presentation. Mayo splashed all over it like some kind of rookie abstract painting. I called and asked wth this is and the chef laughingly explained that it is how Boston roll is made. No my friend, it is not! We have ordered from your place before and it definitely not how it is made. It tastes exactly how it looks. Like Sh#t !

I hate to write bad reviews for a small business, but I am writing from my experience and there may be good things in the menu, or experience of dine-in is different.Do not order Shrimp Tempura. It does not taste like real shrimp and it was full of grease. I also ordered scallion pancake and it was extremely greasy. I ordered through ubereats and they definitely cheated me out for the things I ordered. I ordered the shrimp tempura entree (which should come with shumai and others) but got the "bento box" instead, which was just rice and soup. Quality is not the best for what I ordered.

We ordered takeout from Yellowtail: scallion pancakes, wasabi shumai, yakitori chicken, and a few sushi rolls. They have a deal of 3 sushi rolls for $35.95, so we took advantage of that and ordered the Firecracker, the Fusion, and the Lost of Control rolls. Standouts of the meal were the wasabi shumai, which were delightfully crispy and a bit bitey. The Firecracker roll was definitely the best of the sushi rolls. There are other places they we've ordered from that we enjoy more, but it's still a solid option in the neighborhood in a pinch!

Every time my partner and I are craving sushi, we come here. It's inexpensive, byob, and really yummy! If you're in the area and want a killer seaweed salad, here is where to get it!

Finally stopped in here tipsy on my walk home since it's right around the corner and I was very pleased. I got a specialty firecracker roll and the pan fried pork dumplings. Very good. Sushi was very yummy..... Ever since I've been back like 10 times in 2 or 3 weeks. I am addicted to the FIRECRACKER ROLL. Literally the best thing ever. Spicy 2 in 1 roll is also really good (tempura style). Service was very fast and good. Picked up on the spot no problem. Took maybe 8 min to wait. Easy. The employees were so kind. Love places like this in this beautiful neighborhood. I come here at least 2x a week now. RIP my bank account like actually. Thank you!

Mediocre sushi that gave me an upset stomach for two days. Ordered off the website a sashimi appetizer and a sashimi deluxe entree. The description for the sashimi deluxe was different to what I actually received. I called the store to inquire what happened and they told me that the sashimi deluxe was actually what I received. I informed them that the website description is incorrect and that it should be updated to accurately depict what the entree comes with.

Tiny little hole in the wall sushi place with a very generous lunch special offer on bento boxes. I chose the salmon teriyaki version - though you can have your choice of tempura or katsu with a variety of proteins. There's not a whole lot of room, so get cozy. First off, a steaming hot miso soup was served to start off the meal. The bento box soon arrived and I was pleased with how much was included - from four pieces of a simple California roll, 3 pieces of shumai dumplings, a small salad with a lovely peanutty gingery dressing, sliced carrots and steamed broccoli, freshly made jasmine rice and a thin but tasty slab of salmon teriyak on top of sauteed onions and green peppers. For less than $12, people! Take note for those who want to stuff their faces.Everything was delicious. The only thing I missed was a hot cup of tea served upon arrival, something I thought was ubiquitous at Asian restaurants but now seems to be only served upon request and for an additional fee.
