Why 4 stars? Because the food was fine, but I'm rounding up for other things. --- --- ---My wife used to come to Wunsche Bros as a kid and had recently mentioned to me that she wanted to check it out for lunch someday. We took our son to get a nearby haircut and it ended up being the ideal spot to stop after that.We ordered the beer bread and fried pickles for appetizers. Both were good. Not great, not bad aka 4-stars. The beer bread is definitely filling, so we wished we had just gotten a half-order instead of a full. Each piece of bread is surprisingly heavy. I ordered the Wunsche Burger and my wife ordered the chicken fried steak. We both agreed that hers was a bit bland and could have used some more salt. My burger was fine. I didn't realize ketchup didn't come on it, so I ended up having to add it on myself. The default is mayo or mustard, apparently, but that came on the side. I'd say both were probably 3-stars.So we're probably at more of a 3.5-star rating for the food, but I am rounding up because:-Our service was excellent.-And it's pretty cool that this building has been around since 1902. And it was absolutely spotless in here. They did an excellent job to modernize the design, without being obnoxious about it.

Ambiance and service get Six (6) stars. Beautifully renovated with well trained waitstaff. Also eat alfresco, upstairs, an outstanding option the hostess oddly omitted while seating us, instead showing us to the darkest corner she could possibly find.Food, well, not so much. Simple hamburger at 2pm was DRY. I mean choke it down dry. I mean Two (2) glasses of water and a $6.00 Bloody Mary dry. I mean left under a heat lamp for two hours DRY. Bloody Mary was barely better: Weak and forgettable on every level. Ditto Green Fried Tomatoe$, WAY OVERPRICED. Never again.In a strange exception to remarkable kitchen fails, fries are outstanding. I would return for the fries, each of which has been ingeniously cut into spoon shapes, making dipping a joy. Sadly, Ketchup is doled out in meager two ounce portions, so ask for extra.Great place for a date that likes fries. Parking could be a nightmare, but this is common for everywhere in Old Town Spring during weekends.

Good food and an iconic restaurant in Old Town. My only beef is we tried to make an earlier reservation for a Tuesday night and nothing was available until 645pm. When we got there it was at least half empty. Poblano pepper was a great vegetarian option.

pretty great restaurant, Fries are the actual best I have ever had. Mc'd's can get out of the way! Also: the W. family honors their dead and preserves their family cemetery which Harris county put a highway on top of in the rudest way possible.Thankful to have this historic gem and thankful to support people who have the decency to honor their family.

This was a nice spot for a date, definitely different. The place feels very hip and well put together. The food was ok, I got the ribeye steak sandwich. It was ok, but what I had expected was a cut up ribeye in a sandwich, what it was more like was a Philly cheese steak sandwich. If it had been explained like that I would have been a bit less disappointed. But in addition, it was not that good compared with what you expect from a cheese steak. I don't know if they are trying to make it a gourmet sandwich or just don't have the right combination. Our server was nice but kinda intense. I think I might go back, but I think I will go with a simpler meal.

Lovely late lunch! Beer bread was yummy. Loved the tomato basil soup and the wedge salad. We also tried the deviled eggs. It is so nice to have basic deviled eggs for once. Everyone else puts crazy ingredients and toppings.

Stopped by my favorite place Wunsche Bros. In Old Town Spring. Huge appreciation to chef Adam for making me my own incredible bowl of Poblano soup. Brought to me by the beautiful manager Shelly Ortiz. Cocktails are brought to you by the best bartender around Miss Kara. Highly recommend checking out this gem in OTS.

Extremely bland food. I'm talking apps, sandwiches and main courses. Their portion size is YUGE. Their cocktails are super expensive and parking is a challenge so be prepared to walk.
