Woolly Mammoth on South Street is a cool spot in Philly. The service is awesome--bartenders are super friendly and make you feel right at home. Didn't try the food myself, but those wings looked delicious. They've got a nice selection of cocktails and beers too. I also liked that they have both indoor and outdoor seating, plus you can buy beverages to take home a stead of heading to grocery store. Cool spot worth checking out

We wound up stopping in as we had time to kill before our dinner reservation. The beer was nice and cold and they had a good selection.Too many tvs for me (10 in the not very large space). They also serve food because I noticed the food menu posted on the walls. Might have been posted at every table. There was music playing but I think there was a DJ for the night (it was a Friday).

We were in town for a concert on Friday night and stayed up on 4th near Arch. We found ourselves walking down to South Street, and did no pre-visit research on where to go. A lot of places are shut down, probably victims of the pandemic. We walked along the street and found Wooly Mammoth, figured it was time to stop. We'd already had dinner, so I can't speak to the menu but stuff being brought out to other patrons at the bar looked good. If you like wings and fries and tots and stuff to go with your beer, you're at the right spot. I'm a fan of craft beer so I like to try the locals. I don't need bud light or sam adams when I'm visiting a city with actual local brewing. We'd been to Yards the day before and I found that the only draught beer they had which I'd never had was Stacy's Mom from Evil Genius. Then I fell back on an old favorite of Magic Hat #9 (classic). We switched to the cider they had (can't recall what it was named) and enjoyed the Islanders vs. Flyers, and the 90s mix the bartender had running on Spotify. Good vibe for us, we're 90s music kids. the vibe felt honest and local, like actual people from this actual neighborhood actually come into this spot. That's always a good sign. Left around midnight to walk back to the hotel. Really good time here at Wooly Mammoth!

Haven't tried the food yet but the drinks are phenomenal! Our bartender did a great job making our drinks. He was attentive and accommodating. Me and my best friend came to watch The Eagles game and he was very welcoming!

Found Woolly Mammoth by accident and I'm happy we did. The plan was to bar hop around the city the day before the Super Bowl mainly to take in the positive vibes and buzz around the city. After walking into the first bar we came across and not being helped by numerous employees at the bar (I won't mention the bar by name) we left and went into Woolly Mammoth. Luckily found 4 open seats at the bar and was helped immediately. Didn't get the bartender's name but he was great during the time we spent there. The bar was filled with Philadelphia Sports history, had multiple TVs, a nice draft list, and some really good daily specials. Atmosphere was great as the bar was filled with Eagles fans and they even had horse racing on a few of the TVs. We ordered a couple of the IPAs from Tröegs (Perpetual and Field Study - we enjoyed them both), a White Claw, and I finished up with a Woolly Citywide which is a light beer served with a well shot for $6. I went Tecate with well whiskey. I thought the prices were very good compared to many other bars especially for being located in the city.I'm not sure how the atmosphere is on a normal night when a local team isn't playing in a championship game/series, but we really enjoyed the time we spent here. I enjoy sports bars and if I were in the city during a game I would definitely consider watching here.

I love this place very much! Great place to watch the games, friendliest service, absolutely delicious food, amazing deals on city wide special and located on a great spot! Outdoor seating available too! They have deals for city wide specials every single day, which is pretty amazing! Ordered the sweet red chili wings and this is officially my favorite spot for wings. 10 tasty wings for $10 which is a steal! Cooked to perfection, nice heat, and incredible all around.I can't wait to come back!

I love when I'm walking in another city and i see a little spot and something just attracts me in. This is what happened here and i loved it! Small sports bar. I'm a huge Eagles fan and there was just so many things up on the walls. The bar was fully stocked, lots of beers on tap, as well as seltzers in the fridge. The menu sounded so good but sadly we had just eaten lunch. We sat at the bar top our bartender was super helpful and nice. We had great service and enjoyed our beer. I would highly recommend this place, and will visit again hopefully with more time.

Mike was AMAZING! Service started out with a bang with instant service and attention. Ambiance was great as we watch the FIFA 2022 Cup! We didn't get to ordering food as we were enjoying the icy cold beer and drink-if you know me sets the standards for a great bar. Great ambiance, amazing bartender Mike, and great drinks!

Chill litte corner spot! Passed it while walking literally all around Philly. There is a special type of drink each day. There is a $10 speciality cocktail menu also.Place looked really clean. Very few spots to sit/eat inside but there were also outdoor seats. All drinks are placed in a plastic to go cup. I ordered a raspberry vodka drink that came with a carbomb shot. I had to take the shot inside but we could take the drinks out. (Pics attached)Bartendar was heavy handed on the pour! They also have food available. Sports bar. Mixed crowds. Across from Fat Tuesdays . This place is a definite return!
