The setting is gorgeous. They are sitting on a gold mine with all the people in the proximity and no competition. Only problem is the food is mostly terrible and very inconsistent... The menu and food lacks creativity and flavor.Breakfast and burgers are okay, but don't try to eat dinner, you'll be sadly disappointed. The salsa is good so go for drinks with chips and salsa if you want to experience the great atmosphere. I sure wish they would get it together as we get tired of driving to The Woodlands to get good food!

This is a lovely place! The servers are very friendly. However, service can be slow at times, whether they're busy or not. We've eaten here many times, mainly because of convenience. The salsa is great. The flatbread, chili, and reuben are decent. The crab cake and steaks are really good. The rest of the menu is meh. Most times it's hard to pick which one to get because most of them don't sound appealing or just not good. The quality is also a hit or miss. My medium burger today was well over done. The pasta nights are okay. Don't do it in the summer when flies swarm all over the food. During pasta nights, they have made to order pastas where the chef makes your desired dish in front of you. I requested shrimp scampi (shrimp, wine, butter, lemon, and garlic were right in front of him). He said he's never heard of a shrimp scampi before. I asked it again and he said he didn't know how to make it! My kids hated the pizza (tasted like frozen boxed pizza) and pasta so we don't go on pasta nights. The Mac and cheese is very dry. Now, they do have brunch on weekends and that I highly recommend! They have lots of selection, including prime rib! This place has a lot of potential. They just need to improve their menu and learn how to make them correctly and consistently...and bring back the fish and chips!

We been here a couple of times and I recommend the chips & salsa and the Hole-In-One Burger. I think it is one of the best burgers in town. They claim it's a half pound but feels bigger and I can never finish one on my own. You get a juicy seasoned burger with a sweet tasting bread. Make sure to add caramelized onion and bacon. To top it off you get some huge crispy fries that are coffee hot burn in your mouth. There are plenty of TVs to watch any event and the views are great.

So I've been once and returned a second time, so I must give it 4 Stars, but I also must say that I'm concerned: Management seems a tad.......inexperienced. For example, there is a Sunday brunch, on SOME Sundays, but don't count on it every Sunday. I asked the staff, "How do I know which Sunday's to come for brunch?" They did not know. Staff also seems remarkably poorly trained: They are young and eager to please, but no one seems to have taken the time to teach even the most fundamental of service standards to them. I ordered the bacon grits for breakfast. They had placed shredded cheese atop the serving that did not melt. Some may have taken the clue that this meant the dish was cold, but not my server.Marketing is an issue: Recently I picked up a flyer: JOIN US FOR STEAK NIGHT EVERY SATURDAY NIGHT, it exclaimed: Why? Because I cannot grill my own steak on a Saturday Night? Because I cannot find 6 oz Filet Mignon in the local Kroger? Happily, there was a picture of a steak on the flyer in case I got confused. Instead there should be a picture of the beautiful landscape scene off the veranda. This place has a wonderful view (if you can see over the ill-conceived railing surrounding the deck). There are plenty of fans overhead that work great when you remind the under-trained staff to turn them on. And then there's the piped in music which, according to staff, the astonishingly unimaginative management has limited to Classic Rock or Country, guaranteeing that at least 50% of the audience will be annoyed. Have they heard of Spanish Guitar? Instrumental? Celtic? I suppose I'll keep my ear-buds handy.Does Management know what a happy hour is? It has been know to be promotional in a few bars on planet earth. How about $3 Gin/Vodka Tonics and 50% off beer 5-7 every night? Maybe offer free peanuts, chips? Well, I'd like to connect more dots for you; hopefully I've done enough so Woodforest Grille can remain In The Black while I enjoy the veranda during the next year.

Over the last year and a half that I have lived in the area this has been a good decision every time. I frequent the restaurant couple of times a month and have been very pleased with a rare exception. My favorite now the Chicken Piccata. Pair it with the grilled asparagus and its killer. It is fair to say that the service over the last few months has been impeccable. It's fun that the chef likes to mix things up from time to time. Kid friendly menu helps us have quality family time too. Will continue to enjoy Woodforest.

First time here. Great menu. Sat outside on the patio for lunch. Service was excellent. Salsa is amazing. I'm so glad we stopped by for lunch. The waitress told us about a Italian night on Wednesdays and a four course steak dinner on Friday. We are excited to go back.

This restaurant has become private and only open to the members as of September 1. Personally think this is a dumb decision because it brings more people to see your course who otherwise wouldn't come. Good marketing gone.
