"After laying down my motorcycle over an embankment, the officer informed me at the hospital that the bike would be towed by Flint Hills, and I could find it there whenever I was released. Shattered clavicle, but they let me walk that night, so the next morning I was picked up by my brother in law from KC in a rental pickup and headed over there to get my bike. An emergency flight had already been booked to get my broken up butt back home to Montana, and I would be dropping my bike off at a great shop in KC. The manager told me that it would be $350 for the 1.5 mile tow, which, what are you gonna do, towing companies aren't cheap, but the $30 a day storage fee, I politely asked if he could waive, because I picked the bike up 10 hours later. He told me in a raised voice that he was "being decent by not charging me for two calendar days!" I was in a whole lot of pain so I just said ok, and headed outside to load the bike. They got the bike almost in the truck when I remembered straps. I asked Jason, I believe his name was, if he had any he'd be able to sell. "None that I'd let you have." was the reply, along with directions to the farm store. Even my easy going brother in law made a comment about how rude the guy was being, but finally we got back with straps and then had to explain how to strap the bike down. It's pretty basic, but they literally were going to attach the straps to the bottoms of the forks... the guys were nice enough, aside from Jason, but they didn't know anything about hauling motorcycles. I'm sure they do ok with cars though, for what it's worth. But there's more. The officer called me back that afternoon to follow up and check on me, and it turns out that when they picked up my precious bike, they were going to hook a chain to it, and literally drag it up the hill because "it's already on its side." The officer saved the day by setting her upright and riding her up onto the truck himself. Between the rudeness, and the total lack of competence where motorcycles are concerned, I was disheartened to say the least, and can wholeheartedly say I don't think you'd ever regret going with another tow option."

And with being new to the area, I had no idea who to call to get me up and running again.Lucky for me I was close to the service center on the turnpike so I parked and went inside to see if anyone there knew anyone I could call. To a person- they all yelled out " Brown's Service" so I called.I have to say I was impressed. They were there within 30 minutes, had my tire changed quickly, the tow truck driver was personable and took the time to tell me what the problem was and cautioned me that I had another tire on my car that could have the same problem in the near future. He then pumped up my spare and sent me on my way with a bill that was reasonable for the emergency service. I hate it when my car lets me down. But it's good to know that places like Browns are out there to get me on my way again and help me feel safer in this new town."

The driver (sorry did not catch his name) quickly and expertly lifted up the truck onto the flat bed. He was very friendly and we chatted all the way to Bosley tires. I paid with a credit card. He unloaded my truck and returned my keys and gave me a receipt. He also gave me a tip on how to recover the costs through my insurance company!"

"I was quoted a price by another shop for a repair and heard from a few people that I was being overcharged so I decided to call around a few places and Woody's had the best rate. We hadn't driven the van much because we knew it was leaking oil so the morning I dropped it off the check engine light came on. I asked them to diagnose the check engine light prior to fixing the oil leak in case it needed a larger repair we weren't expecting. I got a call later that morning to let me know the real issue behind my oil leak and the repair ended up being cheaper than I expected! They told me the repair I scheduled did need to be corrected but that it was minor. I appreciate the honesty because I feel the other shop wasn't being honest and I would have been out even more money. They of course did an inspection of the van and recommended repairs/maintenance that should come next. I spoke to Ty during drop off and pick up. He went over everything with me and told me what things on the report were more urgent than others. Office was clean and my van was done the same day. We'll definitely be back for needed repairs and maintenance."

"Tow driver arrived at the scene of my car accident on 12/22/24. Despite being instructed by the police, state troopers, sheriffs and Hertz themselves, he took my car to a tow yard 90 minutes away from where I could pick up my new rental car (Wichita airport); the accident was 30 minutes from the airport. I was left stranded there because he said he'd done all that was required of him in his position. I had to ask my sister to turn around, come back the 3 hours she had already driven to pick me up. Now, this wasn't the only holiday monster, because KS AAA also refused to pick me up without me having a vehicle to tow and that they "couldn't just drive a stranded driver to a different location where they would no longer be stranded. Avoid at all costs!"

"Just encountered the absolute worst car buying experience of my entire life! I'll share the shortened version to save everyone the time. Went in this last Saturday and dealt with the GM Jeremy Biddle. Spoke numbers on a 2018 Ford Escape. Decided that with my budget, everything was checking out good. Nice car, great gas mileage, the whole nine yards. Walk out of there Saturday late afternoon and Jeremy let me take the car prior to signing paper work because we were both a person of our word... or so I thought. Might I add, we both shook hands on multiple occasions regarding the deal that was on paper and agreed to by both parties. Get a call Sunday from Jeremy telling me that he made a $4000 mistake and that the car and the payments would be much more than we agreed upon. Of course I'm unhappy at this point, but who wouldn't be? Might I add, I'm completely tolerable of making mistakes, everyone does it. But it's how you fix the mistake that speaks. I gave Jeremy multiple opportunities to fix his mistake and even offered to meet him half way despite already agreeing to a certain price not even 24 hours prior. Jeremy offered to take off $750, but that was "the best he could do." For a "hometown" dealership, he sure has a big city attitude. If I have any advice, make sure everything is in writing with a signature intact. This was a good lesson learned on how not to treat your customers for myself and hopefully Jeremy as well."
