Whole Truth does it again....my daughter went at my recommendation and picked up food for us. She loves it as much as I do...says the fried chicken is the best ever and lived the great service. She's normally not a banana pudding fan, but she loved what she got here. Can't wait to go back again.

This is a restaurant next to a church and appears to be ran by the members of the church. They have a Buffay type serving. They put the food in card bored containers. There's a lot of confusion. They are no signs telling you which way to go in.And the food here is very good. The chicken is nice and crunchy the rice and gravy are good and a banana putting is good. The place is very clean as well

This is a hidden gem in Wilson, NC and if your not a local you're not going to know about it.Located beside a church with great "Home Cooked" scratch made food daily. There isn't any microwaved pre-packed chain stuff here, nothing but great soul food cooked from the heart.I enjoyed a Lunch of Fried Chicken, Macaroni and Cheese, with Okra cooked the way it's supposed to be and not fried. Could of ate a giant bowl of that, pure Skippy!Top it off? Yepper! Home made pulse slowing Banana Puddin! First I don't even like Banana Puddin'! Was talked into it and after one bite I inhaled that stuff faster than a Hoover does dirt! All I will say is you have to experience it, WOW! And that's The Whole Truth! You have to try this place! Will be back again and again. Oh it is easy on the wallet.

Anytime we're in the south we try to find a local restaurant with home cooked meals. I found this on Yelp and that's how we ended up here. It's cafeteria style I guess is the best way to describe it. We had the fried chicken, black eye peas, greens, potato salad, yams, and some sort of fried corn fritters. It was all good. Even the sweet tea was yummy. And they do have Koolaid. But I didn't try it, I regret that. It's not your gourmet spot but just simple cooking just like your granny would make.

This joint is located just on South Walnut Street in Wilson, NC. We were in town on a Sunday afternoon looking for some home cooked greens and fried chicken and Honey this place whets your appetite for more than you bargained for. The fried chicken reminds us of the kind Maw-maw would make on Sunday after church. The greens are well prepared, not over cooked and mushy like some places. Don't forget the sweet potatoes and the pie. Place reminds you of back home, growing up. Just the way you like it; real home cook n' Soul food (good for your soul don't you know). Come on down and get you some while it's hot. Try the ham hocks, pig tail, or fat ribs. Open Wed-Sun from 11-5 or 6. Walk on in and pay the cashier after you go through the line. They'll treat you real nice like. The tea was a little too sweet, but other than that it all it's the spot. Don't forget the corn fritters. Mmm-mm, Good!

This is a great place for good Southern fare. The fried chicken is as crispy, tender, and delicious. The baked chicken was a wonderful surprise, as I have never had it made with eastern NC barbecue sauce, I recommend it highly. The squash had plenty of onions, just like momma made it. The sweet potatoes (or yams) were made fresh, not frozen or from a can. You will not need to add salt to your meal. The sweet tea is sweet; I advise asking for a couple of fingers of unsweet tea to cut the sugar.

They are only open a few days a week since the pandemic...but the fried chicken is light and crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. If you can catch mustard salad, its the best (they don't serve it often), Haven't tried much else. The honey bun cake is good as well. Set-up is very simple, but clean. Staff is always courteous.
