AWESOME. Simply delicious food. Kevin gave us Excellent service! The quality of the food is so good, you can taste the difference. We usually go to Sabrina's Cafe for brunch when we attend the Roots Picnic every June, but today the wait was over an hour. So thanks to Yelp, only blocks down the street was the White Dog Cafe. So thankful and grateful to discover this gem!We had the Banana Bread appetizer, Tofu Scramble, and the Farmers Plate (I think that was the name - poached eggs, the best tasting bacon I have EVER HAD, tasty home fries with onions and red peppers, sourdough toast). Just a wonderful experience from the gracious ladies at the host desk, to the back waiters who delivered the food.We will return!

Solid experience here on a weekend Sunday. Loved that we were able to make reservations, and they nicely added someone on to ours (though the table had originally been set for one more than we made haha). They also were able to accommodate the fact that our party showed up in a few different groups. They were super busy and it showed in the service - took a long time to order at each stage (coffees, food, extras), and there were a few errors (ex. hot instead of iced coffee, no ketchup with fries). It also has a very lively environment, so keep that in mind if you're trying to get in a good conversations. The food was pretty good - I got a tofu scramble which was well seasoned and the potatoes were especially tasty. The burgers tasted good but were super messy to eat (it felt like the buns were too small for the size of the burger). The churros waffles were novel but seemed either too sweet or too fried? Not sure, but somehow a little unusual. I would come back if someone suggested it, but am not necessarily waiting till the next time I can go back.

My parents visited for the day and we had brunch here since it was crowded everywhere else. There was plenty of seating here and little wait time. The decor is very cool and I love the dog theme. I ordered the cannoli churros waffles, which were delicious. It was a bit sweet for my liking. I did not end up using the syrup on the side. I did like this addition of pistachios and the ricotta served on the sidWe also order the seasonal brunch bread for the table, which was banana bread with a delicious sauce! It was warm and fresh.

Went here for an early dinner on a Sunday afternoon. It was pretty empty, which makes sense for the timeslot that we were there. Service was pretty bad. We watched a table that got seated after us be served drinks and food before our waiter even came over to us to greet us. The food is also super overpriced for the taste. Paid $66 for the Butchers cut, which was a NY strip, and it was a terrible cut of meat. Super fatty and not seasoned well at all. The pretzel bread basket was absolutely delicious, and the mashed potatoes were good. We also had the catfish wish was good as well. The restaurant is cute and much bigger than I expected. Not sure if I would go back though.

Went here for an early brunch while I was visiting PA in October and I fell in love with the cute dog-themed decor. This restaurant is super unassuming and is truly gigantic on the inside. There are two floors to this restaurant! There are multiple rooms that can be reserved for events or large gatherings, and every single room has dog-themed decorations and photos. Every room is unique in its own way. If I had the time (and it didn't feel weird) I'd love to just walk around the entire restaurant and look at all the cool dog decor! It honestly could be a mini-exhibit on its own. We got seated pretty quickly and our waitress was okay. She took our order very quickly, but took a while for us to grab her to pay the check at the end. Onto the food and drinks: I got the pork belly eggs benedict and my friend got the Lancaster County Omelet. Unfortunately, for how awesome the decor was, the food wasn't as great. Our food came out really quickly (almost a little too quickly even) and was lukewarm. I loved the taste of the pork belly and the pickled onions that came with the eggs benedict, but I just wish it was hot and the pork belly was crispier. My friend said her Omelet didn't have enough goat cheese or spinach and it was also lukewarm at best. This was honestly so disappointing because the flavor was there and I had seen rave reviews about the food. I'm not sure if it's because this location is in University City, but the food felt a little bit overpriced as well. We ate nearby here a few times and White Dog Cafe was easily one of the priciest meals I had during my visit. We both got an Aperol Spritz that was tasty and refreshing. A bit strong for an early brunch, but nonetheless the drinks were a decent price. I would get this drink again, but perhaps not as early haha. Overall, I'd come back here to give them a second try, but White Dog wouldn't be my first pick for brunch. The flavors were there, but they had missed the mark since the food was cold.

First time at this restaurant! The decor is adorable and loved the different vibes each room has. Service was great and food came out quickly.Ordered the breakfast burrito and pork belly benedict, which were recommended to us by the waitress. The benedict was the favorite. Only downside is that the serving size is a little small. Also swapped out the house fries for truffle parm fries, which was delicious. Breakfast burrito was okay, but did not contain any protein other than egg and beans.

My sister brought my mom and I here for lunch because we were visiting from out of town. It's a cool looking place, There are a lot of rooms with unique decor to fit the theme. We were seated in a small room with other diners. We couldn't hear the music from where we were so it felt awkward sometimes and like we needed to whisper. I had the white cheddar burger with truffle fries. My meal was very underwhelming. The burger was falling apart and it tasted a bit dry.

I somehow accidentally placed this review under the University City location. We dined at the Wayne location. We had intended to have brunch at White Dog Cafe Sunday 9.17.23 to celebrate a special occasion after visiting Chanticleer Gardens. I was concerned about that choice reading some of these reviews. However, we had a fantastic brunch. Service was well paced and attentive via our server Caroline. Ambiance was cozy. We had no complaints. We had some leftovers and ordered Mac and Cheese to go so dinner was covered as well.*Honey Cornbread, Salted Honey Butter, Strawberry Jam*Yellowfin Tuna Tartare - Avocado, Sriracha, Sesame Soy Emulsion,Micro Cilantro*Eggs Benedict - Canadian Bacon, English Muffin, Hollandaise, Yukon Potato Home Fries*Felafel Burger - Feta Cheese, Green Goddess Dressing,Sprouts, Red Onion, Tomato, Mixed Greens (This was DELICIOUS!)*Persian Cucumber Salad*Mac And Cheese - To Go*A Lil Vino :)

White dog is the go-to spot for anyone in university city looking for a nicer meal. Their omelette and French toast options are always delicious and I've never had anything that was bad, but some of the items are a little pricey for what they are. My favorite part about white dog is the restaurant layout - I've been many times and always seem to be a different room. If you're visiting during the start of the school year, Penn's parents weekend, or graduation make sure to make a reservation. Most UPenn students come here with their parents, so when there are a lot of parents around there's not a lot of seats available!
