We went here for the first time for Easter brunch. I saw many good reviews for it so suggested we give it a try - it was the right choice! We got there and were immediately seated. Since we had a little one with us, they asked and provided us with a highchair. It is BYOB so we brought our own prosecco to go with the orange juice carafe we ordered. And I don't think they charged us a corkage fee - if they did, it was really minimal. All of the staff - hostess, cooks, our waitress and owner who came out to check on us - were all very friendly, upbeat and just had a genuine, kind vibe about them. Our server was very attentive, had good timing on checking in on us versus letting us enjoy our food/conversations and she had good banter with us. The vibe gives me modern rustic chic. Very clean and bright lighting with larger windows. Now to the most important part - the food. Everything was delicious! Two of us ordered the Crab Cake Benedict, one person ordered an Omelette and we ordered French Toast and Bacon for our little one. We all agreed that the food was really tasty, came out at the perfect temperature and they gave really good portions. The crab cakes were really fresh, good sizes but didn't have a bunch of filler in it and were well seasoned.I hope to go back soon because there were other items on the menu I want to try. I highly recommend going here for brunch.

Passing through and visiting family and decided to stop in. Ordered the cinnamon swirl pancakes...and the consistency was very off. Had nothing to do with the cinnamon, sugar or swirl it was probably just a bad batch of pancake batter that produced a poor texture. Dusty is the adjective that comes to mind. Either way I request to exchange for grits only for the cook(?) to come out and want to interrogate me about why I didn't like the pancake...?? Like they were trying to check me and upset with me for the dusty pancake? They did take it off the bill after and I got grits so I appreciate that. Other reviewers seemed to enjoy this item. Batter and vibes must've just been off today. Otherwise: our waitress was very nice and the beef bacon and potatoes were yum.

I'd been to West Ave Grille once before and failed to post a review - this time, I didn't. We went last weekend - about 30 minutes before it opened. By the time the doors opened there were around 12-15 people in line. We ordered the Fried Chicken with Belgian Waffle, Veggie Omelette, a biscuit and the Grits - we shared everything. West Ave. pounds its chicken breast flattening it, however, it was perfectly cooked, tender, and the fried coating was delicious! Not to forget the amazing Belgian Waffle under the chicken, it was light and fluffy with a great flavor and really complimented the fried chicken. The veggie omelette had grilled onions, peppers, tomatoes, mushrooms and fontina cheese - it was savory and rich! The grits are some of the best I've had - well worth replacing the potatoes. West Ave. Grille is a must try for breakfast!

The shrimp and grits hit every time! And I mean every time. My husband stepped out his comfort zone and got the banana pudding stuffed waffle with chicken on top that was unreal!

Food was just okay. Nothing spectacular. Average tasting at best. The presentation of the food was great but they didn't bring everything out at once and there really wasn't any entrees so you had to order sides and pay for them separately. The raspberry tea was good and the breakfast potatoes. They gave me an extra huge piece of chicken for my chicken biscuit that did not fit on the biscuit and the biscuit was breaking up as I ate it. It was good. Overly expensive in my opinion. I will say the staff was accommodating, we were able to call beforehand and get on the waiting list so we didn't have a wait when we got there. The table they gave us was too small and after some back and forth with the staff they moved us to a bigger table. Another party was seated at that same table shortly after and also asked to move. They were trying to squeeze five people into a four person table with the additional person at the head. Not really worth the drive in myOpinion and the place is small.

This is my second visit here. It is usually very busy and can have a long wait. Is worth it! Remember, it's BYOB, so come armed with your Proseco of choice.Waiters are attentive, and service is fast! My first time, I enjoyed the Southern Comfort and shared it with my husband, who chose the Surf and Turf grits. The southern comfort, a fried chicken breast atop well seasoned roasted potatoes and covered with gravy and served with a biscuit, was the better of the two dishes. The surf and Turf was delicious cheesy grits topped with brisket, crabcake, shrimp and lobster. This time I had a short stack with blueberries and a side of bacon. My husband had the chicken and waffles. We both enjoyed our meals but our first choices were the best.

Let's get down to business. This is my 2nd time being here. The first time I was with my ex-boyfriend and we both had French toast and the food was good. This time I was on a business birthday brunch with my family. The food was good and plentiful that I didn't have to eat for two days. I don't know who the cut is but they definitely know how to cook like they are from down South. Go ahead with your bad self. This place is always clean and spotless. I did not use the bathroom but I heard it was clean as well. I'll see yall soon. Thanks again for the friendly hospitality.

Not sure what's going on with West Ave, but they are defiantly falling short on a few things. Two major issues that have prompted this review. I came onto yelp to edit my review as West Ave has been one of the restaurants we hit when in the area, however despite my many trips I guess I hadn't reviewed the place. Therefore, instead of editing to remove stars I will write this review with the hopes of increasing stars in the future. The outdoor eating area is tented, decorated with ivy vines and cute outdoor lighting. Equipped with heaters and houses plenty of tables for outdoor dining. I will assume the tent and heaters will soon disappear as the weather is breaking and eating alfresco is always a treat.Although the indoor venue remains the same, one thing is new. One of the bathrooms labeled for EMPLOYEES only. I find this rather annoying however I understand it is their right to do so. The other main issue I had was the ceiling fan directly above us was covered with dust. This is something that restaurant management should be keeping tabs on and keeping properly maintained. As for the food. Fair. Not the quality or the presentation that I have come accustomed to here at West Ave. Our meal was served hot with mistakes that they corrected, however by the time it was brought back to the table everyone had already finished their meal. Our waitress was polite, slow with drink refills but attentive. Will we be back? Yes. West Ave has been a staple in the past and everyone slacks from time to time - hopefully I can return with an added star or two.
