This restaurant was highly recommended to me as I was looking for a good Ethiopian spot as the last time I had good Ethiopian food was when I was in Berkeley, CA. Wow, was I happy that so scheduled time to try Wehemia Ethiopian! It was just as described. A mom and pop spot where they are friendly, the food is authentic, and delicious.. Everything that we had was great! And I do mean everything down to the house salad. My friend who dined with me went on and on about how good the salad and dressing was- so I had a bite and I'm not sure what magic they put in the salad but it was Soooo Good! After dinner we tried the authentic coffee and it was an experience in itself. If you order it expect to be amazed by the aroma and taste of authentic Ethiopian coffee.I will definitely be back!

If you're looking for an authentic Ethiopian restaurant, well look no further! This place is a hidden gem. Teshe and Sebele are the husband and wife that run this place. They are extremely hospitable and the food is beyond anything you could imagine. I have been coming to this place almost once a week since I learned about it two years ago. They have some of the best Ethiopian food you'll find in a restaurant. The place is cozy and intimate but that doesn't stop the big flavors that come from their multiple different dishes available from the menu. Some of my favorites are the Kikil- this is a lamb soup that has been simmering for hours, the flavors are exceptionally rich. This dish is only available on Mondays, and it's on a first come first serve basis. However, on any given day some of my favorite items to order are: the veggie combo, Lega Tibs, and the special kitfo (which is like a beef tartare dish). Anyway, y'all won't regret coming to check this spot out, and if you do tell them Sara sent you.

After eating at the larger restaurants in Atlanta for the past decade I decided to try a smaller business. It's a more limited menu, and a much cozier feel. This restaurant has the typical vegetarian options but it's really known for their beef. There's tilapia on the menu as well. I went vegetarian on this visit, but I can't wait to try the beef tartare. The flavor and texture of everything was phenomenal. One small note: The prices I was charged per dish were $1-$2 more than on the menu. Not sure if it's because I did takeout or if the menus are not up to date.

Small family operated Ethiopian restaurant highlighting Gurage food. The place is well decorated with cultural items and pottery. The owners are very welcoming and try to accommodate customers as much as possible. Most definitely go prepared as the small kitchen takes time. I would recommend this restaurant for those looking for an authentic experience. They serve delicious steak tartare (Kitfo) you can have it medium rare, rare, or well done and it comes with seasoned cottage cheese, minced greens and some mitmita spice. The star dish at this place hands down are the collard greens cooked with beef short ribs.Try it out and thank me later.
