Came here on a Thursday for happy hour after work. And just so you know, Thursday is ALL DAY HAPPY HOUR!The only disappointment was me and my friends were the only ones there! Every now and then one other person would pop in. But for 2 hours, my party of 4 were it.The drinks were pretty good. We decided to order food and the food was SO GOOD! We ordered a meat and cheese board and the mac and cheese. Both were delicious but the mac and cheese was the BEST I've had! I hope this place makes it. I'll be back to eat again =)

Per recommendations in the area, we tried the crawfish. They're absolutely delicious and I'll gladly come back for those. The -2 stars is for the service. The guys working today were phenomenal. Went above and beyond their jobs. The lady waitress/bartender was a total joke. I didn't once get asked if I wanted more food or drinks. I also had to go out of my way to ask another employee to tell her to get us our check. The place was damn near empty. It wouldn't have hurt her to take 2 minutes out of her day to do her job. If the bar was busy, I understand. But damn near hiding in the kitchen makes it impossible for your guests to order more food or drinks. I know the owners expect more out of their employee. I trust this experience will be fixed.

Super excited about this new place in Clear Lake! This island lounge is the perfect spot for grabbing a tropical drink- perfect for those hot Texas summers or late nights! During our first visit, we walked in and were able to get a table. It was a little dark in there, but you get that lounge vibe, cozy feel, good music! The décor is very tropical, island, tiki glasses. We were greeted and ordered drinks that were served promptly. The owner came by and chatted for a second and then mentioned that Sunday they would be offering "Drunken Cinnamon Rolls", which of course I knew I would return to try!On Sunday, we came in right at 12 PM and were able to get a spacious table. I was excited to see a small crowd coming through the longer we stayed! We started with the following drinks: Pineapple Mimosa, French 75, Mai Tai and the Island Old Fashion- honestly, you cant go wrong with any of these! For food, we did two orders of the drunken cinnamon rolls- one with the bacon crumbles... HIGHLY RECOMMEND! We also got two orders of the sliders so we could try both options and an order of Mac & Cheese- again, you can't go wrong! The Mac was baked to perfection and had little chunks of pineapple to added that island flavor. The sliders are served on Hawaiian Rolls- ummmm YUM! I look forward to them expanding their menu- both drinks and food! All the staff is friendly and makes great recommendations! FYI- signs aren't up outside, so make sure you don't miss it. Come give this place a try! I can't wait to see the great things they have coming up & watching them expand!

I don't always drink Mai Tais but when I do I'm going to be sure to to drink them at The Volcano Room! So finally Clear Lake is getting some better selections in cool venues with good some good mixology. This is one of them. If you appreciate attention to detail, good service and tasty flavors than I'd recommend dropping in here. Drinks : Excellent. The bartenders know how to mix. And I mean what to mix, when to put it in, how much and presentation. Oh and did I mention heavy pours but without compromising the experience or taste. I definitely recommend the Mai Tai as a treat. Haven't had one as good since Hawaii. Most places skip ingredients or replace. Not to mention they had the BOOM! at the end with the flame. Price : I've heard a couple complain but I think the VP prices are right on, if not a less than you'd paid in city for something comparable. You get excellent, heavy pour drinks, GOOD drinks, with amazing service. They also offer Happy Hour with speciality drinks and such. If one thinks that the high price, maybe you should try a $15, 8 oz pour of wine down the way (sidenote: love that place too) or a bottom self liquor at that Boat place with slow service (again, sorta like that place just trying to make the comparison). Each place has it's purpose and this one is definitely attempting to raise the bar on quality - which I tremendously appreciate as a self proclaimed food and drink snob.Atmosphere : A bit dark for my taste but then again I need 1.75 cheaters and have a hard time driving at night. Of course, it's excellent for making out in the back room on the couch. I do love the hanging bamboo rods and orange tall back leather seats (favorite color). It's definitely a chill kind-of-place. They completely opened up the place (looks nothing like the dying coffee house that was there before) which allowed for creating some individual rooms. The cabana room is great for small private parties. Nice because it's still open to the rest of the place. The also have a good balance of chairs/tables vs standing room. Well thought out. They even thought of you smokers (although you should quit) and extended the porch on the outside. Owners : Met Stephen and his love Sherry. Both super sweet. Best part - they listen! They are open to all and every kind of idea. In addition they are super welcoming. I also know they are always attempting to create "the new" with still staying within their theme/brand. This makes for an awesome experience. Definitely top of my list for a great local experience. Aloha 'oe!

Semi-tiki bar. Feels a little phoned in. Staff was efficient. Drinks were fine- nothing special.

I was surprised when I found out I hadn't written a review for Volcano Room yet - as we have been here many times over the years. If i would have written a review 2 years ago it would have been 5 stars. A unique tiki bar in Clear Lake? With excellent food? and theming? Add skee ball, 5 star out of the park. Unfortunately things have slipped at Volcano Room. I don't know if they're struggling with self-image issues, 'should i be a tiki bar? should i be a neighborhood watering hole? should i be a geek bar?' unfortunately when you try to be all 3 nothing seems to be a 100% Grade A. With the arrival of top-tier cocktail lounges in Clear Lake like Hyde Park and Rosewater, Volcano Room is missing the mark. A cohesive image overhaul could do wonders for this former great. At a bar called Volcano Room you'd expect a plethora of Hawaiian or tropical style drinks and foods. this is what you would have had if you were here 2 years ago. They had a full tiki menu including flaming drinks! They also had delicious mac and cheese, some with pineapple and pulled pork. Ham and cheese sliders on hawaiian bread. Gone are those days. there are no more tropical drinks, no food menu. It has been awhile since we've been here (Maybe January 2019?) When we sat at the bar we were really surprised. We asked for one of their signature drinks we used to order and the bartender had never heard of it and said it might be from a different bar....then we asked for a drink menu and they said they didn't have one - just the martini list posted on the wall. Martinis aren't particularly tropical but ok.Then we asked for a food menu and the bartender told us they don't have one. They basically have a caterer come in every night. Monday is Pizza, Tuesday is Tacos, Wednesday is Steak Night, Thursday is crawfish and Friday is 'Kobe Burger' night. So we couldn't place food orders with the bartender, and the caterer was only one person, he was too busy filling orders to take ours so I can't speak about the quality of steak night. You pay the caterer directly. This seems pretty inefficient. The martinis were ok. not the greatest. Good news is that on Wednesdays is $6 signature martinis, but not all of them - make sure you ask. They have put in a pool table and darts in the old lounge area (neighborhood watering hole image?). I miss the sofas and chill tropical vibe. They have an arcade room with skee ball, air hockey and some arcade games (nerd bar image?)They still have the fishing float lights, bamboo, and tiki signs (why? not a tiki bar anymore)Volcano room is not aging well, and the changes have given them a case of lost identity. I hope we can get our tiki bar back, especially considering how well downtown tiki bars are doing (See Lei Low and Kanaloa...)

This is the place to be. I can not stress enough. Coffee bar. Shit... try a coffee shot. Want the best pizza this side of the San Jacinto? HERE IDIOTS. You want to cool off on a sultry texas day? Nothing to do on a Sunday? Let's talk business. Need a captain? One stop shop. Concrete removal bar punk. The owner is sort of a prude. Get right, get tight, let's party.

Disgusting customer service with zero social skills who does not know how to take a joke. I literally sat down and ordered a beer and a shot and when the female bartender Hannah came over to start a tab I just sat there and stared at her pretending I couldn't hear as loud as it was in there and I really was just joking with her and instead of her being professional and asking me to politely leave or even ask me why I'm not answering her, or play back or something, she went full retard on me lol and started yelling to get the fuck out of the bar. This whole thing is a joke and she's trying so hard to retaliate against me and I'm literally just laughing it up. No one in my circle gives a shit so tell her to keep on keeping on doesn't matter, jokes still on you sweetie. The staff there has to have thicker skin than that. The gentleman in there with a ponytail he's a big jokester and he's constantly clowning around with people. He understands how to work the crowd and what comes with friendly banter at the bar. He has to do his job and be somewhat social he can't expect people to throw money at him. I barely go in there anyways and I'll never return. I know this isn't the first time people have complained on her, she's probably burnt out and needs to find a new career. She's got three brain cells and two of them are fighting with each other lolP.S. I never seen a bar have a chair behind it so that bartenders can just sit and not engage with there customers. That should have been the red flag.
