New AYCE hotpot + Korean BBQ that opened up in Sugarland, we came here for the first time and it was a good experience overall. Most of the BBQ meats were marinated, and the hotpot meats were in a separate freezer. Only thing that I wasn't used to seeing is they put a sheet of paper on the grill and you're supposed to grill the meats on top of this. The flavor came out slightly different than what I'm used toThe restaurant itself was pretty spacious, they also have claw machines in the front where you can win plushies Service was pretty good, they changed out our grill a few times and refilled our waters. Would come back!

Expensive for hotpot but good options and very clean. This is a new place in Sugarland and parking is easy. Our group opted for hotpot only (though could have paid an additional $3-4 for the Korean barbecue as well), and were very full. The broth does not have that much flavor, unfortunately but you can add the sauce condiments to make it better. There's crab legs which had to be restocked several times, but otherwise lots of options. I think Shabu Zone in Bellaire is tastier but this place was a good option too.

My friend & I decided to come here during a weekday for dinner. You can either choose just the hot pot or both hot pot & Korean BBQ for a few $ more, which is what we chose. There's TONS of options when it comes to the protein, veggies, sauces, etc, so I definitely liked that. When it came to the hot pot itself, I got the spiciest broth, which was like a Szechuan spice level. Overall, the hot pot was ok in my opinion, even with the items I chose to put in it. The Korean BBQ though was very delicious. The vibes of this place is quite cool. Definitely recommend at least trying once if you're in the area!

1. Service - Our waiter was pretty attentive. He came often to clear our table and refilled our soup several times, but he didn't ask to refill our drinks. This is one of the basics of being a part of the waiting staff. That was a bit of a disappointment, but I get it. He was waiting on many other tables and staff was stretched thin. When a place is huge and he has to focus on two different halls, it's definitely a challenge. When you come in, wait to be seated, order, and pay at the table. Your food is at the buffet table, but you have to tell your waiter (at the table) if you plan to eat both Korean BBQ and Hot pot or Hotpot only. Then you have to tell him what broth you want. 2. Price - for an Adult, BBQ and Hot pot is $34, and Hotpot only would be $30. Kids ages 4-6 is $12, and ages 7-10 is $16. 11 and up you're considered an adult. This is average for BBQ price, and about the same for a hotpot only restaurant. Don't forget that this is a buffet and All-you-can-eat. Drinks, taxes, and tips not included with this fee. They can charge you up to $14 per pound for food wasted!3. Ambiance - this place is huge. There are tables available for 2, 4, 6, and even up to 10! There are so many neon lights in there, it feels as if I'm at an arcade. Nevertheless, it's about the experience. Great place to bring family and friends. In the hall with the big tables, they have Karaoke available. What?! They have many locations in Florida, Pennsylvania, and Texas. Sugarland is their only location in Houston thus far. 4. Food - Forewarning, most of the items at the buffet are raw (90%). You'll need to cook it at your table. The buffet display looks clean and organized. You can also make your own sauce. What I like about this hotpot place is that you have your individual bowl for cooking your food. That is so sanitary. I really like this idea. Speaking of which, there are 7 different broth flavors to choose from. You can look them up in the photos provided by others, but I recommend their PORK BONE SOUP. For the kids, they even have pre-packaged ice cream cups! Look for the white refrigerator next to the buffet table. The individual hotpot is not a new concept, but I do prefer hotpot restaurants that do this. Some other competitors that first introduced this, also had a wow factor at the beginning. But they just couldn't keep up with their buffet display and cleanliness. 5. Cleanliness - one thing I've noticed is that the grill on the table for the BBQ was still greasy from the previous visitor. Perhaps that is not the case for every table, and this could just be a one off. But it makes me wonder. I like that they have tile floors. It seems fresh and clean inside. I'm surprised the air is not greasy as a typical Korean BBQ grill house. But I've noticed that they invested in some really nice fume extraction devices above each table. 6. Summary - Overall, it was a great experience. I would totally come back to this place. Despite some of the few disappointments, I did enjoy my first visit. It can't always be perfect. I recommend Volcano Hot Pot!

Volcano Hot Pot and BBQ is a solid choice for hot pot/Korean bbq in the Sugar Land area. It definitely beats the drive into the city/Bellaire area. Reservations were easy over the phone for bigger parties too so that's a big help.Walking in, this restaurant is very spacious. You choose between just hot pot or Korean BBQ, or you can do both for a small additional charge. The waiter asks what kind of broth you want, I went with the pork bone broth, and then you help yourself to the meat/veggie/noodle options at the bar. While the selection is relatively big, I'd say the one thing that can be improved here is the meat quality. They offer beef, chicken, lamb, and pork, but it's just 1 of each thinly sliced and frozen. The plus side here is the seafood though. I'd recommend getting lots of snow crab legs to get your money's worth. Overall, Volcano Hot Pot & BBQ is pretty good, especially when you want to stay in the suburbs, enjoy!

I love how there's an ayce hotpot spot in sugar land! I would say everything is good but not outstanding. This is a spot I would typically go to if I don't want to drive up to Bellaire & wait for other places. There's an okay selection of items. I felt like they're lacking a variety of meats. For hotpot especially, there's only about 3(?) choices (excluding seafood). Although, I haven't done the KBBQ option, the section is pretty limited also and not really worth it unless you really want the experience. Overall, the food is good and still hits the spot but lacking variety.

I have been to Volcano three times in the last year either for lunch or after work. Every time I have been here the wait has been short, service has been fast and the food has been fresh. I like the clean, spacious dining area and the laid back vibe of the restaurant. I've tried 4 different broths. The Pork Bone, Szechuan Spicy, Thai Tom Yum and Mushroom Soup. While none of them completely blew me away, they were all good. In comparison to some of the hot pot places I've been to in Bellaire and other parts of Houston, I'd say the broth is upper mid tier bordering on higher but lacking a bit of the stronger flavor I like. The selection on the buffet, however cannot be touched. From meat, veggies and seafood to noodles, sauces and sides, the selection is vast and impeccable. I can only think of one other hot pot place I've been to that rivals the sheer immensity of this buffet. If you are hungry and don't want to wait a ridiculous amount of time, you should come here.I did try the barbecue the first time I went. It was okay but the meat selection is more limited and to be honest, you can find better barbecue somewhere else but for $3 more, it's not going to break your bank either.I would definitely recommend this place to give a try and it just may be your style. Been here three times and I'll be back again.

Came here to celebrate my boyfriend's upcoming birthday as he was craving hot pot. We also have been seeing this place going around on TikTok, so we ended up making the drive to try it out. We arrived around 6:00PM on a Thursday evening and it wasn't busy or packed at all. There was a bit of a crowd, but not the dinner rush just yet, so we ended up coming at a good time.We were seated and our server basically explained how it worked and you have the option of doing just hot pot, just KBBQ, or both. We wanted to do both to get a taste for everything. So we ordered our soup bases; I ordered the regular/basic one which was the pork bone broth base and my boyfriend ordered the tom yum broth base. His definitely had a bit of a spice kick to it, but was still good. Mine was kind of plain, but I think that's what to be expected considering it was the basic soup base. I did flavor it up some with some of the sauces and garlic and onions, little things like that which definitely helped. At the buffet there was just a plethora of different foods to add to your hot pot and some meats for the Korean BBQ portion. The selection of meats for the hot pot were minimal, but we honestly just ended up eating the fatty beef for our hot pot and a bunch of veggies. They also had AYCE snow crab! They did also have a very decent selection of seafood too. The Korean BBQ portion of the meal was pretty good; I absolutely loved the galbi (which you have to order through your server) - it was fatty, marbled, and super tender. The meats from the buffet were okay, but the spicy pork belly was good and never disappoints, along with the bulgogi.Overall, I did enjoy this place. It felt very futuristic with the neon lights and just really chill vibes. The food was good and very filling. And they really had an extensive buffet of all different kinds of things. I will have to come back!

It was a very unique experience to have kbbq and hotpot at one place. It's location is convenient too. I however was not well versed on hotpot and the staff did not really steer us in the right direction with that. If I came back I'd only get the kbbq and stick to the kalbi (have to order it) and pork belly. Don't forget to order your white rice! The ambiance was cool. The restrooms were a little on dirty side but not too bad. I might be back

Came here last night while visiting family in Texas. Reminded me a lot of Qpot in the Bay Area (both offer AYCE hot pot + kbbq). We picked hot pot only. What's fairly outstanding about this place is the selection. The meat is a bit more limited on the hot pot side (lamb, chicken, pork, and beef), but that's made up for by the seafood selection. It's buffet style, so you go up to get your own materials (which saves a lot of time of having to wait for items to get delivered). Soup base selection was good, and so were the sauces. The restaurant is also quite large, with good spacing between tables.Overall, reasonable price, great selection, and good service. It's a pretty typical AYCE hot pot restaurant, but in a good way. Will go ahead the next time I'm in town.
