I will go over the items that I ordered and eaten, then we will discuss customer service. For a soul food restaurant this comes closest to 'some' home cooking that serves soul food. What I find often and am very disturbed by is not just Visions but many soul food places do not served 'BAKED' macaroni and cheese. I was served homemade but cooked on a stove top 'mac n cheese', it was okay but not what I am looking for. You will find 'BAKED' macaroni and cheese three stores down at Coconut Breeze. But back to Visions! Their fried chicken is crispy and well seasoned, I don't particularly like the taste of salt so it was a little much for me but not for most people. Their mashed or whipped sweet potato(yams) are pretty good as well as the cabbage, string beans and meatloaf. They use to make a very good chicken cheesesteak with real chicken breast but I don't think it is on the menu. The collard greens are some of the worst I've ever eaten. People you 'cut the bitterness with a pinch of sugar' not a CUP OF SUGAR. Time and time again these greens taste like sugar greens not collard greens. Now lets discuss service. Yikes it is the worst!!! It doesn't matter if you call in your order or place it in person, go get a pedicure and come back. THEY ARE SLOW!!!! How are you that slow when ALL of the sides are precooked and so are most of the meat and poultry products. Oh you better not say anything you are met with a blank stare and a 'well we are busy'. Guess what 'SO AM I'. Too busy to try this again.

This was once my family's favorite place to dine. The service and food has since declined. I'm so saddened by that.

The food here is very delicious. The platters on an average are between $12-15 but it is worth the money. The vegetables are not overcooked as most soul food places. I dont know if I would consider this place to but an authentic soul food place. The menu offers offers some Italian dishes. The cornbread is soso. My favorite dish is the salmon with the gravy. However, the service is so slow but they have improved with more helpers over the past months. This is why I gave them a 4 vs 5.

Nice little place if you want some Southern food. No place to sit and eat....but the place seems like a popular spot as they had customers coming in constantly. Mac n Cheese was great and they had bar b q and salmon that look good also. Very friendly staff.

So let me say the food here is pretty good. I really enjoy the fried fish, which was very well seasoned and given in generous portions. I also think they do great vegetable sides, I especially like the green beans. The Mac and Cheese is pretty unique in that it's almost like pot cooked mac and cheese that you bake for a few minutes to brown the top. It's good, just different. I am giving the restaurant three stars because of the customer service I received during my last visit. I placed my order and waited outside for 15 minutes and went inside for 10 minutes (where it was pretty hot and smokey) only to be told that there was no mac and cheese for my order despite there being some in the display, which I was told was for "someone else." I Was told I could substitute it for something else (greens, spinach dip, mashed potatoes, green beans). Now, who really goes to a soul food place and orders mac and cheese and would be ok with waiting 25 minutes not to get mac and cheese? My boyfriend had to suggest to the woman that we come back and get the mac and cheese when it was ready (1.5 hours later). After that, they were very apologetic, but customer service is really important when dealing with a small business especially when soul food places are a dime a dozen. I probably won't be back, but I suggest you at least try it.

I had Fried chicken mac and cheese and the creamy spinach. EVERYTHING delicious! Fresh food well seasoned nice and hot also good portion size! (I sound greedy lol) it's a very clean place to eat the cooks are very friendly considering the fact the place is very hot inside I have to give them props on customer service they were cool just hot Lol. Love the fact that the main chief is there cooking and running his business. This is definitely a go to place especially if your not sure what u want because they have everything! I gave 4 stars because it was my first time and in all fairness I only got the one platter not sure how other stuff taste

They never answer the phone. Most times I try to call before I come by because I live so far away. The phone has rang on an average of 6 times and then it says the mailbox is full! I've called maybe two or three days in a row and no answer.

This place is unprofessional and has horrible customer service. I called to order at 6:40pm and the girl said that Mac and cheese would be ready in an hr. I call back in longer than an hr and they say it is not done. I call again and a man answers and says the Mac and cheese is not done and will be ready in 30-40 mins. I then call the last time which is not 845pm and they finally say that they aren't serving any Mac and cheese for the rest of the night. I have been constantly calling for this Mac and cheese for 2 hrs and still have yet to receive it. I have never even eaten here, this would have been my first time, but i will never call them again.

Today I had the fried flounder platter with greens and whipped yams and bread pudding. The fish, yams and greens were delicious. The bread pudding had good sugar vanilla and cinnamon flavors but it was waaaay too wet for me like it wasn't all the way done or something. I enjoy bread pudding but this really missed the mark and I couldn't eat much of it and won't be getting it again.
