Vishala is a low key Indian grocery store in the Katy area. It has a variable selection of Indian groceries considering the small size. I like coming here because pricing is awesome plus they make fresh food. Recommend the butter chicken, paneer masala and green onion roti. Whilst these curries have great flavor, they tend to be on the watery side. They also have some fresh baked naans, rotis and fried snacks available. This is where I suggest to go if you are looking for inexpensive, exotic spices. We stocked up on green and black cardamom, turmeric, cumin seeds, coriander seeds, pomegranate seeds, asafoetida and garam masala. It's also a great place to get tamarind. There is a crazy selection of different types of rice. The typical basmati, brown basmati and this seriously small grained basmati. Those are just a few they carry. Plenty of lentils, mung beans and chickpeas too. Produce is a smallish section but everything looks really good. There is also yoghurt. A lot of yoghurt. Even gallon sized. Waaaay cheaper than what you can get at HEB or Kroger and very delicious. There are little finds around the store. Unusual pastas, different snacks and candies too. Coconut oil is less expensive here as well as beauty products (especially hair care). If you're adventurous and love Indian food, this is definitely a place worth checking out.

So my neighbor told me about this place, after I mentioned I wanted good Samosas close to my house in Katy. I went in and right by the produce area is a small counter it's like a mini shop inside the grocery store. Wow they have some really good Samosas and for a good price, along with other tasty snacks. I walked around just to see what the store had to offer. Its pretty well stocked you can find lots of great products from Asia/India, produce looks fresh, and the staff seems friendly every time if visited. I'll keep coming here for my Samosa fix. No pictures to post now, but I'll try to take some in my upcoming trip.

This rating is for the to go restaurant. They are very stingy in the portions and only one rice per order. I paid for 3 curries and when I called thinking they made a mistake he said that's how they did it. I could ask for more and they will give me as a courtesy! My thoughts are I paid 40$ for a very small quantity of food and you are treating me like that. I won't be ordering any more on principal. I am also concerned about the fact that they are within a grocery store (health code issues and overall cleanliness etc.

One stop shop for all your Indian grocery needs. A decently sized grocery store with aisles properly labeled and packed with all types of food products. This grocery store does it's purpose when it comes to buying Indian fresh produce and snacks, together with dairy, grains and frozen foods. They have a small takeout area for snacks and some fresh curries which I throughly enjoy every time I visit this place. The prices are decently priced here but I'd recommend you'll to check the expiration dates when buying packaged foods. The store owners are respectful and very helpful if you need help finding something. There's a big parking lot outside so you're covered. I'd recommend this place if you're looking to buy Indian groceries and some delicious, fresh, hot tasty snacks.

This is the best Indian grocery in Katy! Super friendly and the prices are very affordable. I went in without any expectations and found myself buying up chutneys and homemade yogurt. Fresh samosas and baingan Bharta!! I got a mango juice box and was squealing on the ride home from the epic smells. Truly, I almost didn't write this review as I kinda want to keep it a secret

I knew nothing about the ingredients I was seeking and the owner took a great deal of time educating me and offering personnel suggestions. This occurs every time I enter the store. Amazing customer service.

I have been going to Vishala since they opened. Excellent service, fresh groceries and reasonable prices. Many stores have opened in Katy after Vishala, but I have not found a better prices or services anywhere.
