Virgil's Gullah Kitchen & Bar

Tonight I visited Virgil's for the first time and I enjoyed my entire experience. We were quickly seated by the hostess and greeted by our friendly waitress Yanna who was so sweet and attentive! I ordered the Fush and Grits and the grits were my favorite part. They were creamy and cheesy just like I like them! I also had the corn muffins that were like corn bread cake . The food didn't take long to arrive either. I would visit this place again!

Made the reservation to celebrate my father's birthday however, they were over 30 minutes late seating my family. The manager did provide us with appetizer as an apology.Business should work on time management and prioritize reservations.

Location is ok. Old Town Conyers is probably not the ideal area for this spot. For some reason I feel like they would thrive closer to the city Service was good. Our waitress was nice and cordial but got a little distant when she realized we werent enjoying the food too muchAppetizers were wings and cornbread with sweet potato glaze. Apps were 8/10Wife had a salmon scramble. She asked if it was wild caught and they said yet but it was obvious that it was farm raised. Her dish was basic and tasted like a frozen breakfast bowl. 2/10I had salmon croquettes with egg whites, greens, and potatoes. The greens tasted like Old Glory greens and the potatoes tasted like frozen bagged potatoes. Egg white were good but the kitchen couldn't add onions or mushrooms. Croquettes were decent. 5/10

The food was SO good. I definitely plan to come back and get the cornbread muffins and wings again! I would also want to try other things on the menu. Manager was nice, came and introduced herself. The vibe was really cool, almost like a lounge. We had a good time.

Nice Ambiance, but very small! My husband and I went here, Saturday, 5-18 for brunch. We were very shocked when we walked in to see that it was small, however it was decorated very nicely! We also did not know that we needed reservations, but we were able to sit at the bar which was fine. Our server, Ashley, at the bar was very nice and attentive!My husband had a taste for breakfast food, so he got eggs, salmon patties, and grits. He said that everything was good. I got French toast and fried green tomatoes. The French toast was good, however, it had banana drizzle on it, and I realized, I don't like banana flavored stuff! Nonetheless it was still great! The fried green tomatoes were just okay. They could have been seasoned better and could have been more "crunchy-unchy".We will go back for dinner soon!

Food and ambiance was great. Prices were reasonable and the quality of food and service was great!

Well the reviews don't lie. I decided to give this place a try after hearing so many good things about it. I got there right when they're opened on a Saturday and I made a reservation. It's not much parking on the street but I was able to find a parking lot behind a art studio to park in . It's a small restaurant, but it's very cozy inside . The only noted downside was one small bathroom in the whole place.I tried the chicken and waffles and the shrimp and grits, and both were very delicious . I even took two orders to go of the Waffles. No outrageous pricing here ! Between the fair prices and good food, I would definitely go back.

Just wanted to thank everyone who were there to serve us and make us feel welcome. This was our first time there, and our server; King was excellent. He was very friendly and helpful. He took our order and super helpful to us. The food was delicious and the experience was amazing. We will definitely go back and just wanted to thank all the of the staff for their hospitality.

My husband and I was in the Conyers area and stumbled across this really nice restaurant. Marrea was a great server and made great suggestions for us first timers. The Jam up Wingz at a must have ! The Slammin Sammen was delicious also I just wish I had a little something green to go along with it, but we will definitely be back!

I come for the drinks, but I stay for that after church plate, specifically the Mac and cheese. They have a nice vibe & great service! It's a very cute date spot with places to walk to and other things around to do, but it's nice for a solo night or just to get something to eat in the daytime.I've been 3 times and I always get the same thing, a drink & the after church plate! I've tasted the smothered rice before and that was very good, it tastes authentic & full of flavor. Of course I will be back!
