Trying to make it a special night for my partner's birthday, we made a reservation here about a month in advance. The ambiance of this place is wonderful - cute little mom and pop style restaurant, with warm, cozy vibes. However, as vegetarians, the food left much to be desired, despite a plentiful selection (and we are grateful for the numerous vegetarian options!). The best items of the night were pumpkin and goat cheese crochettes but it would have elevated the appetizer if there was a sauce paired with it. Both of our other appetizers, the brussel sprouts and shishito peppers felt a little void of complex flavor and tasted a lot like the oil it was tossed in. For our entree we ended up sharing the eggplant parmigiana which we were surprised that it was not breaded. While the charred style of the eggplant was interesting, we were grateful to have shared the entree as the taste was a little repetitive without much nuance. The service here was quick and really friendly!

I love this place. Alex the bartender is so sweet and he has been with the company for ten years I believe, when Dolce Vida was around. I really love the specials so I tend to order from daily specials board and they're always different. There will be an appetizer a pasta and a meat special.I really love their pizza. It is super thin and they use really fresh ingredients. I typically get the margarita, but I've tried them all in like them. They have this calamari appetizer that's unbreaded and served with I believe fava beans, and it's in a Br spicy tomato-based soup. it is so good !! it's probably my favorite thing there. They actually have a lot of veggie appetizers they make cruciferous vegetables taste really good . I really like the beets I think it served with horseradish, and I really like the roasted carrots and pistachio.Another thing that's great on the menu is the truffle egg open faced sandwich . It's very rich, but very good. Their bruschetta is very good too. You can't go wrong here.Good wines too! The prices make this place a good value!

It's an old house converted to a restaurant. Reminded me of Dolce Vita. Really good pasta. Cacio y Pepe was the best I've had. The mushroom risotto is the best thing you could ever hope to dream about eating. The baked tagliotini was good but I wouldn't order it again. It was drowning in cheese and I couldn't really taste any other flavors. Would be a great dish for children. There are so many small plates and I want to try them all. The fried eggplant was excellent. The buratta toast was just okay. I like that they offer half glasses of wine so you can try more.

Very good food. The donuts and the chicken cacciatore were very good. The shishio peppers were ok. The price point was great too. And the service was very good. I didn't like that they sat us by the kitchen, which was very busy and not great ambiance. And while the Italian food was great, it wasn't the best I've had.

Our experience at Vinoteca was great, but dessert unfortunately kept this from 5 stars. Their donuts were awesome texture, but all I could taste was the calamari from being fried in the seemingly same oil. Service was top notch, pasta delicious, but use different oil for dessert please! We will be back -

A casual counterpart to the elegant Da Marco, Vinoteca Poscole is named for a major thoroughfare in Udine, Italy, hometown of its founding chef, Marco Wiles. The emphasis here is on Old World wines, Italian small plates such as salumi and bruschette, and home-style pizzas and pastas. The environment takes the form of a dim but lively cottage, complete with a fireplace and wooden tables that are close enough to feel intimate but far enough to afford privacy. Everything is affordable, and it will be tough to leave anything but full. Carrots - aggressively charred batons, whose caramelized bitterness is soothed by a refreshing mix of olive oil, parsley, pistachios, and tangy yogurtFritto - I found the Suppli (fried risotto balls) to be on the bland side, though texturally pleasant. The pumpkin and goat cheese crocchette were better: savory with a sharp, maple-y sweetness to the molten filling. Eggplant "La Parmigiana" - a simple dish with components that were good individually, but didn't necessarily come together into a greater whole. The gooey mozzarella-parmesan topping was yummy, and the well-rounded tomato sauce and breaded eggplant were solid, but there was something missing to smooth the edges. Maybe fresh basil? Crispy Calamari and Shrimp - not your typical heavily breaded sea critters served with marinara and lemon. This was a phenomenal zesty preparation of lightly battered and deftly seasoned seafood nestled among garlicky potatoes, sour capers, and acidic red onions. One of my favorites. Pappardelle with Pheasant and Mushrooms - long bouncy pasta in a deeply rustic sauce that sticks lovingly to each ribbon. Garlicky and earthy with an oily sheen.Maccheroni - bite-sized miniature pasta in a creamy sauce of prosciutto, peas, and scallions. Salty, decadent, and palate pleasing. Butternut Squash Risotto - this one was rich and heavy, but a tad sweet for my taste. Seasoned well, but I felt it could use more funkiness and perhaps the addition of an herb such as sage to brighten it up. La Dolce Vita - I used to love the original Dolce Vita before it closed, and unfortunately this pizza with taleggio cheese, pear, and copious amounts of arugula did not live up to the name. The thin crust was not crisp, there was barely any cheese, and the entire thing was cold. The worst item on the table. Chocolate Budino - solid but not amazing. More cake than pudding, which was unexpected. Was hoping for a denser, less airy mouthfeel with more sweet richness. The cookie crumble was necessary for crunch. Mille Fogle - a crunchy pastry lined with fluffy sweet cream and strawberries. A relatively light and interesting finish to the evening. I think the 4.5/5 rating that Vinoteca Poscol currently holds is just right. The pastas in particular and some of the smaller plates were fantastic, the desserts were slightly above average, but the pizza was a let-down. This is one of the best date night haunts in town, and writing this account made me crave another round.

The pear prosciutto pizza is a winner. Truffle oil doused arugula was a fantastic addition. I am not a big fan of red sauce pasta in general so maybe that is why I didn't find the pasta special particularly amazing. I would still come back because I enjoy this restaurant. If you are planning to go, just be aware that parking is very limited!

Surprisingly, I had never heard of this restaurant. It is in the most adorable house to give the most welcoming feel. We had the baby artichokes for an appetizer and they were delicious and cooked perfectly with a hint of lemon. I had the bolognese and it was great. This is my favorite pasta so I am a harsh critic but I really enjoyed it. The only complaint would be the wine spritz cocktail. It is wine based but you could not taste the wine in it. It tasted like actual syrup. Overall we had a great experience and will be returning!

Have been meaning to try Vinoteca for years now, and while I'm glad I did, it was just ok. The biggest downer was the service. Our waiter was very nice, as well as the crew that helped out, but there is a distinction between attentive vs intrusive. Was having a business meeting, albeit with a great friend, and the interruptions in the middle of our convo was endless. Middle of a business detail...interrupted just to clear a wine glass. Middle of the next discussion, interrupted to ask to clear a plate we were actually still working on. Next topic...you guessed it, interrupted again. Was the kitchen running out of stemware and plates? Again, they were very nice people, but just need to read the room and your guests' dining experience better. On to the food. The really good stuff was the bruschette of burrata, lemon, and botarga...excellent. As was one of the specials of the day, the cod ravioli...very nice. The altro of truffle egg toast was superb. Not only was the yolk kept creamily good, the aroma coming from the perfectly melted, crispy cheese was pungently beautiful. Last and not least, I'm always a sucker for good seared shishito peppers. The not so great dishes of the had to be the suppli and the pumpkin goat cheese crochette. The suppli tasted like taking the pizza you had in grade school, scraping off the toppings, ball them and fry them. Really...not an exaggeration. The crochette was just bland mush, not enough body to the crust to give any textural component to the bite.

Very attentive wait and bus staff! Our waitress was very helpful in choosing what to order as well. Had La Dolce Vita pizza as an appetizer, highly recommend! Pasta was seemingly made fresh, and bolognese sauce was great as well. Not the heavy cream, barely-there-meat BS how some other places make it. Somewhat small place, would recommend making a reservation regardless but even more so for a bigger party. Great prices too! Looking forward to going back to try new things!
