I got the steak chimmichuri... steak was a bit tough to chew and it had a spicy kick to itI also got the fried fish one...that was surprisingly good, its a must try. Dont be hesitant that it comes with mustard, its surprisingly good.My boo had the brisket taco.. he said it was alright but he wouldn't get it againQueso Blanco was pretty good but blue chips were a bit stale. Overall, im glad I tried this place... id try it again to get that fish taco and try a couple others but I dont see this becoming a regular taco place for me.

First time coming to this taco place...and they did not disappoint...the concept of this business (to me) gives me somewhat of a Torchy's Taco feel...but on a smaller scale...the guy that took our order was patient and helped a lot...because the print on the paper menus are too small to read...but after getting his help I chose the tofu taco and the rotisserie chicken taco...my son had the chicken and waffle taco and brisket nachos...I must admit...these were the best tasting tofu tacos I've ever had in my life...the only word I can use for them is PERFECT...the rotisserie taco was ok...but I fell in love with the tofu...my son said that his brisket nachos were really good...and his chicken and waffle taco had some really good flavor...all in all...I will be coming back to Velvet Tacos

Love that they're open late makes it so accessible to come in grab a drink and a bite to eat after work. The drinks are good and $12 for a large is perfect. I love their queso, the brisket nachos are loaded and my favorite taco is the Mexi-cali shrimp taco so delicious. They have indoor and outdoor seating perfect for ambiance for summer and staff is always welcoming will definitely keep coming back!

Best tacos in Houston. I recommend the sweet chile shrimp, it's light, crispy and tasty. I also ordered the slow roasted angus brisket which was a huge taco, flavorful brisket with fresh avocados. The inside dining area was neat and the service was fast. There is also a covered outdoor area with many options . Stop in late for a bite.

My first time trying this place and I loved it! There's so many unique flavors to try and I'll definitely be coming back to try them out. I really like that they have a weekly special that's posted on the menu wall to give you more things to try. If you like weird tacos you'll love this place. The staff were super helpful with good recommendations on tacos to try. Tikka taco: 9/10- the combo of rice and tortilla works very well here. The sauce has a nice spice to it and the chicken is tenderTater tots: 6.5/10- great tots and I loved the egg. There was too much goat cheese for my taste and that's all I was getting. Could've used a sauce or something spicy Sweet chili shrimp: 9.5/10- great crunch on the shrimp and I love the sweet chili sauce. The carrot slaw adds a freshness that's needed. Has to be my favorite taco.
