Van Horn's Steaks

As I awaken from my food induced coma after eating one of these marvels of all marvels I started thinking what everyone else is thinking. I guarantee you're asking yourself is this heaven... a hoagie/sandwich heaven ? Yes .. yes it is, and Corropolese bakery is the rolls being used!My friends you can't go wrong with any of their fine sandwiches, every one of them is a winner. Myself it is not that easy for me to choose from, because I would stand there and just stare, while trying to give them an order. Do I go with this, or shit wait let me get that instead, or is that chili . See my friends , this is what I go through when I am in there, I can't just pick one and not think about the other masterpieces. If you have A.D.D. you'll have fun trying to put in an order.Lets not forget about their "Specials" they have on that board just greeting you as you walk in. Whatever your game plan is, you might as well throw it out the window. I must say I do applaud their patience when it comes time for ordering, because they know it is not an easy one to make. Prosciutto DiParma~ I'm telling you this was heavenly with that fig jam mingling with the burrata and their pesto.Uncle Mike's Hot Honey~ A cutlet sandwich that should be on everyone's mind if you like it spicy sweet! Cutlets dipped in a hot honey with a smoked bacon along with their garlic aioli added to the party. King Cutlet~ The King is here, bow down and kiss the ring fools. Those roasted red peppers and fresh mozzarella with a drizzle of balsamic , pesto and a garlic aioli had me taking a knee on this one. *Special* Blackened Shrimp Chicken Cheesesteak with a spicy firecracker sauce that had me acting like a fool.In conclusion my friends Van Horn's is on point with everything... Service was great and the price was right so I thought the deal was for real...not so much. Steak appeared to be on the short side of things. The seeded tool did not hold up under the pressure, too soft. Onions were pretty good though. The rib eye was not seasoned at all, very bland. The Cooper Sharp was not in abundance. The Cheesesteak was definitely lacking.Score6.8 / 10

Cheesesteaks were excellent ordered from here twice.I loved the cheesesteak hoagie, cheesesteak with Cooper sharp cheese. Fries were okay

Dare I say this cheesesteak makes a strong case for best in Delco. The bread is soft with a nice chew, and the shaved steak is well-seasoned. There's also some interesting flavor combinations on their menu, if you're curious to try something for off-beat.

Amazing cheesesteaks! This is a place which you must visit to taste such a delicious food. Clean place and pretty good staff. Good prices.

Had the truffle steak with bacon. Quality meat- juicy, tender, flavorful, same w the bacon, seeded roll texture and sauces add to the sandwich. Maybe one of my faves steaks in addition to the Classic Dalessandro's. Has white and black truffle (oil? Probably) as white truffle is expensive and in Italy only apparently. A friend told me white truffle is banned in many food competitions because it is that good. Staff is friendly and restaurant looks like it was someone's home converted partially into a pizza shop. There is a parking lot that is kinda small. Probably better to take out.

Pretty good, but not great cheesesteaks. The meat quality was fine, but the Hallmark of a good cheesesteak is knowing the proper ratio of meat to cheese, etc. , and this thing was way too heavy on the cheese. It overpowered everything else. I saw boxes of corropolese seeded rolls, but by the time the cheesesteak made it to me, the normally dense and chewy roll that I'm used to Was soft and pillowy, kinda like a hotdog bun. Weird. Almost like it had sat in its wrapping too long and steamed itself, which is weird because we ate there. My guess is that they made the cheesesteaks, wrapped them, and let them sit on the counter getting steamy until my daughter's chicken Parm was ready. Only reason I'm giving three stars instead of four is the value. I know we are in a world of $15 cheesesteaks, but usually when I pay that much for a cheesesteak, it's almost too big and heavy to finish. Not here. The $16 cheesesteak was not particularly weighty or large, just typical size. So definitely overpriced.

Finally tried this place weird hours and when there supposed to be open some times there not. The cheese steak was nothing to write home about kinda just thrown together on a seeded roll the fries were good seems overpriced for what you get a lot of places came and went from this location they probably won't last either!!
