Urban Saloon

Decent neighborhood spot and hangout, gets pretty packed on the weekends. The food is pretty decent if you're hungry, and they have a decent drink list. They also have some outdoor seating as well. Thanks

For drinks only food is an afterthought. Fries were cold. Steak not medium well. Not many people for a Friday. Wish I tried another place. 2 stars bc waitress was very sweet! Always a plus!

Urban Saloon was just fine. Nothing to write home about unfortunately. We had just gotten done visiting the Eastern State Penitentiary and this was right across the street which made it super convenient. There was a Penn State football game happening, so it was pretty loud in there, but not to the point our meal was interrupted or unenjoyable. I went solely for food and bevvies, so I think that's why my rating falls a bit lower. I'm adding 4 stars, because as a "saloon" I think it's deserving. If you're looking for a place to watch a game with decent eats, it fits the profile. If you're going for a great meal, it leaves a little to be desired and would probably be a 3 star in that respect. My favorite thing was the soft pretzels! They were great with beer cheese, once I stirred the lukewarm film back into incorporation. The pretzels themselves were soft, warm and buttery! I also got the Philly Cheesesteak spring rolls. The spring rolls themselves were quite good. They were more of an egg roll than a spring roll but they were crispy and cheesy. It came with a cherry pepper ketchup which I assumed would be on the side. I don't like ketchup so no biggie. Sadly it was drizzled on the plate and unavoidable but it was okay. I didn't really like this but that was to be expected, and I didn't get any indication of cherry pepper. My friend however validated my distaste for the condiment, it didn't pair well. I think some kind of Thai chili sauce would absolutely elevate these to new heights. My friend got the Buffalo chicken mac and cheese and it looked great!Service was friendly but kind of slow overall. No big deal during a busy Saturday.

I sat outside and brung my dog with me. The hostess was super nice and attentive towards my dog. I wish I remembered her name but she's a dog walker and knows her stuff about dogs and gave me great tips!The service itself was great! I ordered the cheesesteak egg rolls, and brisket Benedict with tots. The cheesesteak egg rolls barely had any meat or cheese and was oily and soggy. It was also bland, the sauce gave it flavor. The benedict was also bland .

Went on a busy Sunday afternoon and were told upfront it would be a minute before a server was with us. But our server took almost 10 minutes to come over, asked if we had been helped, then just said "what do you want" without apology, was short with us, nor introduced herself, and honestly just wasn't friendly. Just kinda rubbed me the wrong way. The nachos honestly were not the best but the birria tacos were amazing. My sister liked her sandwich as well. It's a nice place to hang for a game and have drinks at least.

My friend and I initially went to Jack's Firehouse and left after seeing their limited menu. While at Jack's, we quickly checked out Urban Saloon's menu on our phones and saw a lot more food options, so we walked over next door and sat at one of their outdoor tables.Urban Saloon was weirdly quiet for a Sunday afternoon. As I browsed the menu, I couldn't help noticing the variety of bourbons and whiskeys they have. While I wasn't planning on drinking any whiskey then, I was still very impressed. My friend and I both found something we wanted to eat from Urban Saloon's menu and kicked back a few beers as we waited for our food. Finally, our food came. I was so hungry that I scarfed down my Cubano sandwich, which was delicious. The tator tots that came with my sandwich were fresh and piping hot too. My friend also enjoyed her brisket sandwich. I can't believe I've been sleeping on Urban Saloon all this time.

Came for some quick food and left satisfied. Service was great, we just had a slight misunderstanding but it was sorted out quickly. The kitchen pushed out food quickly for all ten of us and I ordered the smashburger which was really good.The smashburger's meat is substantial and all of the ingredients were present and neatly stacked and bundled so well that nothing slid out, each bite had each ingredient in it. I also wasn't expecting the fries to be so crunchy and satisfying too.For a quick bite, it was worth coming here!

Fairmount area restaurant which finds itself in the solid-but-unspectacular tier for me. Food was good (especially the tater tots), service was quick, it's a big space in a cool area. But altogether things were more expensive than we expected and the food was nothing special. I'll have to go back for a game - it always looks so crowded and fun when we walk by. Solid spot!

Service was helpful! Food was just okay. Not a lot of flavor. Probably wouldn't get the Birria here ever again as it was too dry. Mac and cheese was a solid 7.

I think urban saloon is a good bar, it's just not my type of bar. It's huge. The service is fast and good when it's not crazy. The food is not anything I'd personally order -mac and cheese and burger fare. This place can get wild when a game is on. The quizzo had left something to be desired - I am pretty much on the historical / science trivia quizzo gal, and this was mainly pop culture and music. They allow teams of 20 people here, so there's no real point in playing. Sigh
