Uptown Bar and Restaurant

One of our favorite locations to dine. A quaint but upscale restaurant with full bar service. It is located in the downtown district but only a 5-7 minute drive to a major interstate and closer to some other routes. Tonight was Valentine celebration- the menu offered choices from appetizer to desert for $50/ per person not including any beverages-or add ons. My rib eye steak was okay but I had enough for another meal. Hubby really enjoyed his prime rib. We had reservations and into an hour or so patrons were pouring in.Our server was really busy but he was courteous- I believe they were short staffed but service did pick up. Used to be a drug store years ago.The music was provided by a local gifted musician.

They have some good dishes but they are kind of slow firing things off in the kitchen. Shrimp and grits are probably my favorite. Spicy creamy goodness. Service is also inconsistent which makes Me sad. I usually get better service at the bar the owner hangs out there and he is always making sure enough have what you need. So sit at the bar get a cold beer, and have some shrimp and grits. Do that and you should be OK

I enjoyed watching the game on the big screen while meeting friendly staff and customers. The live music was so a bonus. I recommend the wings, Uptown Punch, and Ribeye with shrimp entree. I will definitely return again. Personable owner and patient waitresses! Come on in!

OMW from Atlanta to Norfolk, VA and I made it 25 mins before close. I have never had such good service and great food this close to closing time. This is an awesome place with the city curb appeal.

Horrible service and waited entirely too long. Plus it seems they had people in there behind the bar that should of not even been there- not helping and just there as a horrible image for the business...Food wasn't that great either and not even enough

I ordered the Chicken Rodeo Burger. The first ingredient said Fried Chicken Breast..... See pictures... it's one of those frozen chicken-flavored "meat" patties... I could have bought a better quality Chicken sandwich from Mc Donald's for less.Otherwise, the atmosphere was nice. The chairs could use a little maintenance, mine felt like it was about to fall apart. The wait staff were nice and friendly. They handled themselves well for being busy.

Atmosphere is relaxing and very comfortable. Food is delicious. Great customer service over the phone and in person.

The atmosphere and food was amazing! The owners are great and the service was wonderful. The guy playing live music I think twice a month is super talented. This is on our list of date night locations. Shrimp and grits are amazing. Salmon and chicken sandwich is very good. Shrimp Alfredo was very good also.

Very good quality and flavor! The Oxford and Henderson area does not have good food options so I was worried at first but this place made for a great dining experience I pray the food quality consistency is solid because I would like to return
