Upper Crust Pizzeria

Upper Crust on Harvard Street in Coolidge Corner, Brookline is the best place to go when in need of a quick bite before going to a movie at the Coolidge Corner movie theater. It ain't fancy inside, but gets the job done and one slice is more than enough for this pizza lover. The pizza is thin sliced and the pepperoni was spicy and a little greasy but that's the way I like it. My mouth is watering just reliving the experience. There were other ready-made pizza options on order but pepperoni is my go-to.They seem to do a vigorous take-out business. The place was full but not crowded on a Thursday around 6pm. The slice was ready (reheated) in a flash and I found a place at the window counter. Dinner for under $4!! Who can beat that?

I've had pizza from the Brookline location several times, and it's been a pretty reliable thin crust slice. It always smells delicious walking by, and they have huge pies in the glass for you to choose from. On this particular evening, I was at an event where we ordered a bunch of different pizzas to try, and it was actually better than normal - all of the pizzas were still very hot and fresh, and the crust was nice and crispy without being too chewy (some of the past times have been too chewy). I really enjoyed all of the flavors below as well:Boylston BBQ (Signature Crust, BBQ Sauce, Shredded Mozzarella, Breaded Chicken and White Onion.) - Probably my favorite go-to pizza. The crust is delightfully crispy and slightly chewy, and the BBQ sauce is nice and tangy. There is the right amount of cheese, and the chicken is breaded and nicely seasoned. Though I'd probably prefer red onion, this is a very reliably good BBQ chicken slice.The Fenway (Signature Crust, Housemade Pizza Sauce, Shredded Mozzarella, Italian Sausage, White Onion and Green Peppers.) - This has been hit or miss and today it was a hit. Sometimes, it can be a little saucy and I'm not crazy about the sauce, but tonight it had the right ratio and there wasn't too much sauce. The cheese stuck to the crust nicely and there was a lot of sausage, giving each bite a healthy portion of meat. Really hearty and filling!Hancock Hawaiian (Signature Crust, Housemade Pizza Sauce, Shredded Mozzarella, Canadian Bacon, and Pineapple.) - This was the first time I tried this and while some people may not like pineapple on pizza, I really do. This particular pizza had a bit too much sauce which was tough to eat on thin crust pizza as it gets a bit soggy and heavy on top, but it also had a good amount of pineapple and canadian bacon which was great. The canadian bacon was especially plentiful and thick, which added a nice saltiness to the tangy pineapple. The ratio of sauce to cheese to toppings was great, but like I said before, it was a little off when compared to how thin the crust was.All in all, a solid experience today - 4/5 and I'd definitely have a few of these again next time I walk by!

Service was fine. Walk- in, order, seat yourself (or not, for take out) and they heat up your pizza.This location is spacious which is nice. The portions are HUGE. I liked the BBQ chicken & veggie pizza. I think it satisfies the pizza craving when you're looking for a quick fix.

My boyfriend and I were grocery shopping and decided to get a quick bite before heading back home. There weren't too many options for individual slices and decided to try the most intriguing pizza slice they had on display - the Nashville Hot Chicken with scallions, ranch, chicken. We decided to get a slice of that to share since we weren't too hungry. The person behind the counter quickly helped us get that warmed up and we were in and out of there within 20 minutes. Super impressed by the service. I can also see that they were making fresh dough and kneading them while I was eating. There is an extensive list of pizza that you can order whole, which I want to try soon. Can't wait to be back!

Although all the ingredients were fine I couldn't get behind the the cartoonishly thin crust but great cheese sauce and toppings.

Honestly not a bad slice after seeing a movie at the theater next door. The slice they gave me was a touch too generous (may have really been two slices), but it was thin crust, with the right proportion of cheese/sauce, that kinda folded. Not a mindblowing slice, but met expectations.

Every thing was good but did not have margarita pizza slices. Not a lot of drink options either mostly soda and juice. Great music though. And the service was good too.

This review is only for the greek salad. The grossest "chicken" eeeeever. I just stared at it for a good 5 min, dreading opening it and it was exactly what I expected after i laid my eyes on it. It's disturbing if this is the chicken they put on their pizza. GROSS!!!

You've got a few pizza options near Coolidge Corner. I've found Upper Crust to be the best for putting out a consistently great pie, fast, on-time, accurate, and with the best service. If you're going to make a commitment to a pizza place, this location in particular should be at the top of your list.
