Sweet people and the food is good, but for just a sushi burrito it's $20. But in all fairness the portion size is enough for 2 meals.

My boyfriend and I were made sick by this place! We ordered a high maintenance tea and there was SOAP/CLEANER IN OUR DRINK! We each took a big sip and instantly we knew something was wrong.. The employees are kinda rude - not sure if they are just high school kids with little social skills but they just stared at us until we ordered - very awkward. I believe if they spent less time on their phone and more time paying attention to their job - we wouldn't have had soap in our drink. I tried to be really nice about the whole soap in my drink situation but I'm not sure they believed me. Be careful here!

I have no idea how I came across this place but I was glad I did. This was an interesting creation but I was down for it. I was so satisfied! Definitely a huge portion too. I recommend you checking it out for yourself!

Ive only been here once but comparing to another sushi burrito place I go to. I dont have much enthusiasm for this place. I dont like to review at first visit so I may come back and give it another chance. The burrito was tasty but was small for the price. Staff were shy, didnt get that welcoming vibe. There is adequate seating and an outside area. You can create your own and if you dont like raw, there are cooked options.

I don't know what happened to this place. The pricing has gone up but the quality down. I don't remember the burritos being so small. The place/staff isn't as friendly anymore. The tables felt dirty inside. I ordered a sushi burrito with shrimp tempura and the shrimp were so small I could barely taste them. They don't give you very much of anything. So sad to see this place go down in quality.

We got two bowls 2 proteins, kids bowl and miso soup for $35.The kids bowl was very pitiful looking. With only one tiny half a shrimp and had to pay .50 cents extra for the two small slices of avocado. Very disappointed in that. Where we normally go for a poke bowl the miso soup is complimentary, here it wasn't and of course the portions where underwhelming. Needless to say I probably won't come back.

I was in Houston over the Christmas holidays, and I stopped here for a bite. We ordered the Chicken Katsu and the Southern Flair and both were fantastic I have one complaint... Make them bigger for the price

I love this restaurant. I may not be able to drive to get it often but it is am amazing treat when I get it. I tend to spend here alot less than I would getting sushi rolls. My rare treat is to get a huge 7 protien bowl that is mainly regular and spicy salmon and tuna bc I predominantly like the raw fish and get it when I know my anemia is acting up and my iron is low. Other wise it is hard to justify a $30 sushi bowl. They used to have "seasonal" protien options like scallops, red fish, etc but they never seem to have any of them anymore. Some workers are better about making a quality product with good portion and amount of the toppings and they seem to have a high turn over rate of employees so it can be hard when others barely put any fish in their scoops or barely any toppings especially when the tuna price went up and EACH SCOOP cost an extra $4 dollars but over all an amazing place to eat.

The first question I always ask myself before going into a place like this is, "Will the novelty be worth it?" I've gone into plenty fusion restaurants where a quirky combination seems like it would be a good idea only to be disappointed. U-Maki overcame this fear of mine and provided a delicious sushi "burrito" which is basically just a huge roll. If you are expecting a corn or flour tortilla-filled burrito with sushi ingredients, you'll be disappointed. But that is the only real disappointment you will experience because the food is fresh, it's prepared quickly, and it's delicious. You order your "Burrito" like you order one at the build-it-yourself burrito places like Freebird or Chipotle, except here, the choices are all sushi-based. The fish was fresh, the additional ingredients were fresh and delicious, and everything appeared to be handled properly. You watch them as they make your sushi burrito, and you can help direct additional ingredients as you see fit. Like the other burrito places, the more protein you put into your burrito, the more expensive it is. There are options for having your sushi burrito prepared like a huge roll, like a poke bowl, or as a salad (which are nice options, in my opinion). They do have traditional sushi restaurant sides available like gyoza and miso soup and they can also make traditional rolls, although I didn't try the rolls. The gyoza we had was fried but delicious. The ambiance is more of like a Subway or Chipotle. That's not to say it's bad; it's just not what one normally experiences with a sushi restaurant. As for service, it was quick and competent; nothing to marvel about, but also, efficient and friendly. The biggest question I answer after an experience with a new establishment is, "Would I go back?" The answer to this question for me is, "Yes." Is it a place I will put on my regular rotation of establishments? Maybe not, but it will definitely fill a niche for when I want a huge roll made quickly with ingredients I select myself.

This is a neat place to your tastebuds . There are some many different ways you can make your meal. My favorite is the U-MAKI fries and a bowl. The combinations are endless. So I recommend exploring a little. You will find something the add highlights to your tastebuds.
