TyeMeka's Soul Food

Service was straight forward. The owner greets you and takes the order while the daughter prepares the food. I tried the whiting fish sandwich. The fish was crunchy, flavorful, and a bit salty but not overwhelming. Overall a good fried sandwich on 2 pieces of soft white bread. I waited about 10 minutes for the food. The atmosphere is small with a lot of family photos covering the walls. I took my food to go but there's plenty of space to sit and eat.

By far the best soulfood I have ever had. Jerk wings were amazing, cabbage was unbelievable. Also, the salmon was really good. Can't wait to eat there again!

The turkey wings were so good! The greens tasted salty reminds me of glory greens and the Mac and cheese was average. Gave four stars for great customer service and the great tasting wings. Oh and the jerk chicken was very spicy and delicious

I had the chance to try TyeMeka's and I was not disappointed. Due to COVID-19 I placed my order over the phone and took it to go. The person who took that my call was very friendly when taking my order.Upon arrival the staff greeted me and told me my they would be with me shortly. I had a short wait as two other customers were a head of me and they make the orders fresh. The food smelled amazing (even through my mask).We had the large fried whiting and wing platters with, collard greens and baked mac and cheese. Everything was delicious! Perfectly seasoned and cooked well. Not too salt or greasy. I got off the turn pike and went out of my way just try this and I am happy I did. It was worth it! I will defiantly be back to try some other menu options.

I was excited to try this local spot! Unfortunately, this was the absolute worst "soulfood" that I have ever had:( The yams were dry, nasty, brown hard chunks. The greens tasted like cheap canned greens. The whiting had no flavor and the mac had cheese shreds that werent melted and it was also nasty and flavorless. This spot is a hole in the wall but usually the dirtiest looking places have good food- NOPE, not at this place!! I am wrapping it up in a bag as I write this to throw the entire platter away. It was completely inedible. Got me once, never again. My tastebuds wont let me subject myself to such disgusting food. Yuck!

I was did the area and noticed the sign for this location. Says I had heard so much about it I decided to circle around the block and give it a try. Parking: Street. MeteredAtmosphere: Home style . A little noisy. It's a family owned business so family is around. Service: The counter person was very friendly, engaging, and very helpful. She made some good suggestions. I like the fact they use gloves to prepare the food. Would have liked to see hair nets. Food: Meatloaf: tasty but too solid if you know what I men. It was hard to cut with a fork. It wasn't moist and soft. Mac n Cheese: pretty good. I like a little more cheese and creaminess. Greens: Just ok. Not sure what was missing Halal wings: DELICIOUS!! just the right size. Tasty and fresh out of the grease. Once the hot sauce was added, I dug innnn and devoured them. Yummy.Punch: Koolaid flavors mixed is what my tastebuds figured. Overall, my experience was good. I'd go back to try other things. Enjoy!

TyeMeka's is great! Came all the way from New York to get this good soul food. The service is also nice, helpful, warm and smiling. It has the laid back feel of a neighborhood hangout. For anyone that loves soul food, try this place!

Damn I just got my grub on just left here I got the wings turkey and the yams and Mac. Now I wasn't there for ambiance the food was rocking

Ordered a chicken wing platter with green beans and mac and cheese and a kiwi straw drink. Chicken wings were delicious, crispy and added a sweet polynesian like sauce that paired really well. Mac and cheese was the highlight of the platter , green beans were little salty for my taste but good flavor , kiwi strawberry drink was straight sugar but took me back to my childhood . Service from the two ladies working they're butt off in hot kitchen was great. They made sure I had all I needed and were very kind . Overall experience 9.1/10 !

I ordered 2 platters today, 1 Whitting & 1 Salmon, everything was delicious, it was perfectly seasoned and melt in your scrumptious, I will definitely be back and tell all my friends about this Amazing Soul Food place!!!
