We were staying overnight at the adjoining Kimpton Hotel and didn't want to get the car out and brave the weather and iffy parking in downtown Seattle. So we made a reservation at Tulio. What a great decision! We arrived a bit early and had a drink at the bar. The bartender was very friendly and attentive. Drinks were excellent. Then we moved on to dinner and were seated at a cozy booth against the wall, which helped muffle the noise from a busy restaurant. We shared the entree mussels tagliatelle as an appetizer. SO GOOD! Pasta was clearly homemade and the mussels succulent in a light broth. Hubby had the Italian sausage orecchiette, which was fantastic. But the star of the evening was my lamb shank, cooked to perfection, seasoned even better, and with enough left over for the next evening. The service was amazingly good. Post pandemic, restaurants seem to be struggling with finding and training staff. That doesn't appear to be the case at Trulio. Our server was right there when we wanted her, didn't hover, and didn't ignore us at any time. This place is a gem. We highly recommend!

We just went to Seattle last week for the West Coast Flower and Garden Show and spent the weekend checking out the city and enjoying some of the local restaurants. On Saturday night we ate at Tulio's on 5th Avenue. It was nothing short of fabulous!! What a fantastic find, we just happened to walk by and read the menu posted outside the door. I saw Burrata on the menu and was sold. I love Burrata. If you don't know what that is....find out. I'm very picky about Burrata as well...it has to be real, good authentic Burrata and not mozzarella masquerading like something it's not. Tulio's designs an absolutely delicious dish for its Burrata. Excellent flavours, beautiful presentation and unbeatable price. We started our evening with some Prosecco and nice warm bread service. I had the Burrata to start and my fiancé had the Escarole Caesar salad. You already know how I felt about the Burrata, and my fiancé really enjoyed the salad as well.We had the Butternut Squash Ravioli and the Sweet Potato Gnocchi as our mains. Both were MELT IN YOUR MOUTH delicious!! We enjoyed a glass of Vermentino and Nebbiolo with our dinner and finished the evening with a Gelato for him and an amazing Affogato for me!! As a nice little surprise, Shasta our brilliant server brought us some Limoncello on the house to put the proverbial cherry on the cake of a wonderful evening out.You would never guess Tulio's was part of a hotel, but it is. It is a beautiful and charming venue. The kind of place you'd take someone you really wanted to impress. A shout out to Shasta who was delightful and to Paul, the Restaurant Manager who took the time to come by our table and chat for a while. If you're in the downtown Seattle and you want a great place to have a lovely dinner, we would recommend Tulio's without a doubt. You will pay a little extra but it will be well worth it. Kudos to Executive Chef Pisano and his wonderful team for an absolutely fantastic experience!!

I expected this place to be good and it exceeded my expectations! The service was on point from the hostess, to the bartender, and the manager checking in. The portions were generous but I had to try the Escarole Caesar, Orecchiette, Olive Oil Cake, and Smoke and Mirrors. It was the little additions they recommended that earned these fives stars. I was given the option to add anchovies to the salad, which paired perfectly with the red sauce. It added umami the way fish sauce does to tomato based pasta sauces. I ordered my second Smoke and Mirrors cocktail as a double and my bartender, Caitlin, made sure it was still balanced given my preference for a booze-forward drink. The best part was the vibe. The dim lighting, tunes (Billie Holiday and Frank Sinatra...), and the decor made this an ideal dining spot for me. Highly recommend this place and I'm not just saying that because they carded me. If I lived here, I would come back often, especially knowing that they have seasonable menu options.Oh! And I don't remember mentioning that I was staying at the Kimpton, but I accidentally left my credit card and my bartender gave it to the front desk so they could return it to me. Phew.

I stayed at the Kimpton Hotel Vintage Seattle over Veteran's Day weekend last November and was coming back from a day of adventuring when I realized I was literally starving. I tried to get a table at Tulio for a bite to eat (late lunch/early dinner type situation) but they were closing...! It was 2:25pm and I was THAT person, I ordered the gnocchi to go. I ended up eating it in my room which was not a big deal but I know it would have been even better if I was able to dine in. I was just pleased that Sharon was still able to accommodate me. Obviously the restaurant was empty, even though two individuals came in while I was waiting for the gnocchi to be cooked and packaged up. Both were turned away. Overall, the food was good and I was a little bummed I didn't have the opportunity to order on a different occasion during my stay.

I really wanted to love this place... The location is unbeatable if you are headed to a show at the nearby Benaroya afterwards. The vibe is that of an old-fashioned Italian establishment, more on the "smart casual" end of the spectrum, what with dark wood accents and dim chandelier lights. The food, to me, was also a bit on the "old-fashioned" side, with a few surprises here and there, e.g., the addition of squash and cabbage to burrata. The service was friendly, albeit a bit overzealous at times. This place is most definitely respected by its devoted clientele, judging by a few groups that seem to be regulars. It might struggle long-term with attracting and converting newer clientele though, given that there are a few worthy alternatives when it comes to eating Italian in Seattle.

Came here for a holiday lunch with a large group of us. The holiday decor was so cute and it had the most cozy Christmas vibes! The only downside is it is pretty small and felt a bit tight and crowded. The server was very kind and helpful but I think the poor guy had the entire dining room to himself to work so service was a bit slow. Since we were having a leisurely work lunch it was no problem for us. I was hoping to have something lighter than the usual Italian fare and had the salmon special and it hit the spot! The salmon was perfectly cooked and well seasoned. The dish came with crispy kale and beans. I didn't get a chance to try the cocktails but those I went with did and sis they were good.

10.25.2023It has been more than 7-8 years since I last visited Tulio. I enjoyed their live jazz music, food, and service, so I decided to go back to Tulio again for my birthday. If you plan to celebrate special occasions such as birthdays, wedding anniversaries, engagements, etc. at Tulio, I recommend that you mention it verbally to the front desk (not through online reservation). During my visit, the host sat us at a small corner table at the bar, but I requested to move us to the dining area. The service was quick and friendly, but it would have been nice if they had introduced themselves and mentioned any specials for the day. Also, the server told me they don't have mocktails but only "juice and soda." We ordered Arugula Salad and Chicken Liver Pate for antipasti, Tagliatelle (Mussels, Guanciale, Shallots) and Bistecca (Grilled New York Strip) for Primi & Secondi, and Olive Oil Cake for Dolci. The tagliatelle was delicious and I finished the whole plate! The New York Strip was also nicely cooked! I would love to come back again, but their service could be improved.

This is a lovely, date night spot in a great location. Good service and not much of a wait considering they were fairly busy. It's a good idea to make a reservation and a genius idea to order the sweet potato gnocchi.

Go here if you're in the mood for savory, authentic Italian options in the heart of downtown Seatttle. The dining space is small and they make use of every seat so it can feel cramped. They can accommodate large parties upstairs and it's fun to see the kitchen, though can get loud if seated nearby. Pros -Solid meat eater options (lamb shank, pork, NY strip, roasted chicken, Italian sausage...) -seafood options- mussels, fish of the day -limited veg options but i loved the ravioli stuffed with seasonal greens! - sweet potato gnocchi was rich, flavorful and filling. The marscapone smear made this dish! Great for sharing!- chocolate mousse dessert was amazing! Smooth, velvety, rich. Great for sharing. -Caesar salad is a hefty portion. Great for a full entree or share with 2-3 others. Lots of dressing so I recommend it on the side. Dressing was flavorful but too creamy for my liking.Service was attentive, friendly and spot on! Cons I always feel a tad crowded when I come here but the food is worth it. Little elbow room so make sure you like your company. HA! - would have loved to add steamed vegetables, but all they had was mushrooms. (They were delicious.)- olive oil cake was surprisingly dry. Bathrooms are upstairs and around the corner. Give yourself time to get there and navigate the crowded dining space.

We came here for lunch, and two of us ordered the Tagliatelle and the other two ordered the Oriecchiette. We started with the Bread appetizer, which was just your usual bread with butter and olive oil. The Oriecchiette was your average red sauce pasta, nothing that stood out. I was hungry, so I ate all my Tagliatelle dish, but it was a bit boring. I understand it was in a white wine sauce, but I needed a bit more seasoning. My bf's dad wasn't a big fan of his Tagliatelle either; he didn't finish it and felt like his pasta texture was a bit off. My Tagliatelle pasta was definitely off; it wasn't cooked well. Some of my pasta were stuck together in big clumps, and eating these firm chunks of clumpy pasta was not a tasty and fun pasta experience.
