A day that includes Jamaican food is a really great in my opinion. But it's not often that you find one like you'd find other foodie faves. After a visit to Kroger one day and seeing Tropic Jerks next door, I figured I'd come back one day and check them out. Which I did one early weekday evening. First impressions were great when I walked inside. It wasn't a large space, but the huge wall mural of the Johnny Bus was a beautiful sight. The large windows made it nice and bright in there, the pops of yellow, green, and red were all nice touches. Very refreshing! There were two other parties in the restaurant before me so I hopped in line and checked out the menu. It's always so difficult for me to pick out what I want to eat and the specials menu made it even harder. I ended up going with jerk chicken, figuring that I'd be back again to try more options another day. Pricing was decent but I think that I'll try to come during lunch time to check out their lunch specials. After I ordered my food, my name was called about 10 min later and I grabbed my food and headed home. After finishing errands and finally getting home and ready to eat, I opened my takeout box and what a surprise I received. There was no jerk chicken but... OXTAILS? Omg. God favors me so. To the Tropic Jerks team, pls forgive me because I absolutely sat there and ate it lol. I enjoyed them! I'm sure the jerk chicken would have been great but I have no complaints obviously. Next time I go back, I sure hope they don't make a wonderful mistake like that again. ;-)

The conch fritters were delicious but to be honest, I was disappointed. The jerk chicken was dry and burnt. I just was expecting more.

First time trying Tropics Jerk Center II and I am glad we did. When you first walk in you will immediately notice how clean the place is and you can see them cook your food. Then we were greeted by Shadae. Let me say thank you for a job well done Shadae. She made sure we understood the menu and recommended items that were hits. The food was absolutely great. We ordered the jerk chicken, jerk pork, and the rasta pasta meals. The jerk chicken and pork meals both came with cabbage and peas and rice. We ordered a side of mac n cheese and plantains. We were given a side of curry chicken to try and unfortunately, I don't have a picture of it because we ate it on the way home. BABYYYYYYY, listen to me. The food was so good. Everything, was good. The curry chicken is the best we've eaten out of many places we have gone to here in Atlanta and the surrounding areas. They provided us with different sauces to try and they were all good buy that spicy sauce is ridiculously good. -Jerk chicken meal- Great! Nicely flavored and cooked. I loved the fact that it was nicely season and that you could tell it was off the grill. Rice and cabbage were so good. I did ask for extra gravy lol. The food came out hot and nice. -Jerk pork meal- Great! See comments for the jerk chicken. -Rasta Pasta-Very flavor, with a jerk flavor and a little spicy. It was not too much or less. We waited on this because it was made fresh. We got this with the chicken and shrimp. -Mac n Cheese- I love the Mac n Cheese. Let's just say it's good for a restaurant and not to be your own. Will definitely order this again. -Plantains- Yes indeed. Will be ordering again. -Curry chicken-All I will say is this, I haven't found others who will stack up to this curry chicken. They are now our #1 curry chicken spot hands down. Summary of review. Keep up the good work and please keep the quality and the taste of the food the same as it was today. I will be returning but this time with more people to experience what we did. One of the best in Atlanta and surrounding areas. Dang it's been a long time since we've tried a restaurant where all of the food was good. See you soon!

New location: "Tropics Jerk", the beef and chicken patties are so good on my first visit that's what I ate. Now for my second visit; In this pic I tried the fried chicken with rice and peas and cabbage for lunch..and I must say the food was good. Need a Caribbean spot in the area, since there is no competition around for miles.

Price is a little high for a Jamaican resturant. $75 just seemed like a lot for what we got and I saw people come in for beef patties, walk out after hearing the price. I had the curry goat and my date had the curry chicken. The food was very tasty in our opinion and I heard other customers complimenting about the jerk chicken, I enjoyed the food BUT the customer service from the women at the front definetly could be better.

Food is very Bland. The Jerk chicken taste nothing like the Jamaican Jerk Chicken that I am used to! I thought I would try a new Jamaican restaurant and everything there was just a big disappointment! The Jerk Chicken is definitely baked, tasteless, bland chicken, mine was pink on the inside! I asked for extra jerk sauce and it tasted and looked like Mud water. Rice & peas were dry and bland as well! The plantains were wrapped up in tin foil and I only got 3 pieces. I wish I could give this restaurant 0 stars! I definitely won't be back!

I was on vacation in Atlanta and decided to get takeout instead of dining in at a few Thai restaurants that I wanted to visit. It was 745 pm I decided to go to Kroger to stock refrigerator and visit deli for something quick. And then I saw the Jamaican flag. I beelined to it. The restaurant was very clean and the cashier was very nice. I didn't expect a charge for using a card but I may have missed the signage. She was very nice so I definitely didn't need to complain about a few dollars for nice people. The prices were fairly reasonable for the location $16.95 for curry goat in a major clean shopping center. They goat was flavorful. The jerk chicken $8.95 for meat and bread was very dry for dark meat. The jerk sauce recipe needs revamped. The rice and peas were a little mushy and rice may have been lesser quality and maybe too much coconut milk. The plantain was very delicious so I want complain about paying $3.00 plus for three pieces. Again, The plantain was prepared very well. The cabbage was not flavored well for a Jamaican restaurant. Jamaican restaurants usually have the best tasting cabbage. My Jamaican daughter in love said naw I'm cooking tonight. This not ready yet. We went to world market the next morning and bought our own seasons.

Food was good and I can recommend this place for the Jerk chicken as I go around tasting this dish at different Carib. restaurants. I like the simplicity of the restaurant - nothing over complicated.
