This Jamaican restaurant have the best carrot juice in town. Many other restaurants often receive their carrot juice from suppliers which sits inside their refrigerator. Not this place, their carrot juice is made fresh and is inside a drink machine. The prices for the juice is a little expensive but its worth it because its really good. I would go here just for that literally. Besides the carrot juice, Tropical Oasis have good ox tails and jerk chicken. Those are the two dinners I have ordered from here and I find them to be good and flavorful. I would suggest placing an order over the phone unless you have a lot of time to wait. I deducted a star from their review because of this. It has been a time where I literally waited about 25 minutes which was insane. Their service is very slow so I learned to call in my order prior to coming.

Listen I haven't been to Tropical Oasis in a longggggg time but I was so happy to stop in. I ordered the brown stew fish and while I waited I had a jerk chicken patty. Yes! A jerk chicken patty. In all of my years I've never heard of a jerk chicken patty but man that was good! What does it taste like? Imagine your traditional Jamaican patty, yes the flaky warm beef patty. Now stuff a few pieces of jerk chicken in there and there you have it ladies and gentlemen...magic! Now as for the brown stew fish it was good. The balance of sweet with a hint of salt was there. The rice and pieces were decent nothing special. My biggest issue was the size of the fish. This was the thinnest fish I had ever seen. The flavor was good but where's the rest of the fish. The service was good. The woman at the counter was friendly enough and helped us decide what we should order. We wanted to eat in but noticed that there were only two tables. So take out was encouraged. Overall this is a good spot for Jamaican food but someone needs to fatten up the fish.

I ordered the oxtail, stewed chicken combo With rice and peas. Everything was bad. The oxtails were tough and tasteless, the chicken was dry and tasteless and the sauce for both was bland. This was the worse meal I've ever eaten from this restaurant. I don't know if they have a new cook or what, but nothing about this food tasted good or had the traditional jamaican seasonings. I also ordered two fried dumplings and they were fried very hard and tasted like vinegar. Just nasty. I can't say if or when I will order from this restaurant again.

This spot is a low key authentic Jamaican joint. This is a pick up only spot(unless you Uber Eats). It's best to call in your order and pick up, since most orders take about 20 mins to prepare. I had the jerk chicken, with rice and peas, plantain, as well and the jerk fried rice. The jerk chicken meal is delicious. The jerk fried rice is ok, a little on the dry side, but I'll order it again.

This was my first time in Dade County. A friend of mine asked me to accompany him for dinner and he chose to dine at Tropical Oasis. The restaurant is located in a plaza along State Rd. 7 (441). Once inside, you'll see the take-out counter with a few seats for customers to sit and wait while the food is being prepared. To the left of the take-out counter, you go through a door and you are in the dining area where there are adequate table seating and a flat screen TV on the wall. A friendly female employee came by our table and gave us each a menu. Within a few minutes, she returned and took our orders. My friend ordered curry goat while I ordered brown stew chicken. Both meals was served with rice & peas, steamed cabbage, and a fried plantain. About 5 or 6 minutes, the female brought out our food. Visually it looked delicious. Here's what I thought about my meal...* The rice & peas was nicely cooked to a soft consistency, but it was a bit dry. I should have asked for some sauce on the side* The brown stew chicken was tender and browned in a flavorful sauce* The fried plantain was sweet. Wish I could have had two more* The steamed cabbage had a crunchy texture and tasted bland. Needed a bit of saltMy friend ate what he wanted and pushed the rest aside. I left back a small portion of the food and asked the female employee for a container to take my leftovers home. Before leaving, I looked around for a take-out menu, but I didn't see any. Who knows if I will ever return to this restaurant again. I'll leave the decision up to my friend.

Saw this truck at the plant based fest at gulfstream. Tried the cauliflower bites as everyone's looked amazing as they got their orders. Well I think wE madde a mistake with tthe choice of sauces we picked. The buffalo oNes were drenched in sauce while the bbq (which we didn't ask for) was barrels touched with saucee and they forgot the lemon and pepper on the other ones. Yes they use seasoned flour but that's aLl the pepper I got. The lemon ????? Well I guess it's still on the tree. Seeing everyone else's I expected more. Not to say they weren't good but when you pay for sauce please give it. The bites were crunchy and held their shape. Will try the actual restaurant next time to see if there is a difference. And we didn't go back to complain as it took awhile to get the order and their line was long. Will just ask for extra sauce next time.

The fish was microwaved and it wasn't fresh. It's not the same restaurant from back in the days! This used to be my spot when I lived in Miami but not anymore. I will never go back. Avoid if you can.

Worse brown stew chicken I've ever had. Rice horrible. Cabbage... I literally just threw the plate away. That's how bad it was. If I could give this place zero stars.,, I would. Save yourself the trouble and your money. Go somewhere else like Lorna's.
