A group of friends and I came out for trivia night. The establishment is very clean and the tables are adequately spaced out. The servers are very attentive and would come out frequently to make sure we are all okay and to see if we wanted to order more food/drinks. There are a lot of screens, which would make it a good place to watch a sporting event. However, my two stars rating is for the quality of the food. The menu includes classic bar food like fries, mozzarella sticks, etc and also has pizza/salads. We ordered the cheese fries, mozzarella sticks, and philly cheesesteak spring rolls, which were all really bad. The fries were soggy and the mozzarella sticks lacked the classic breading crunch when you bit into it. Some of the group complained their beers tasted stale. With so many sport bar establishments located in center city, I would recommend skipping this place.

It's fine. If you're looking for pizza by the slice, I think that there are better options. I was not terribly impressed by either the NY style pepperoni or the Detroit-style pan. There are two floors and the ground floor was dead when I visited. Upstairs, the energy was much higher. It seemed like a mix of Temple students and local office workers taking advantage of the happy hour deals. And they were decent deals! Service was adequate. Again, it was fine.

I came to Top Tomato with my friend Jeffrey to grab dinner and watch the U.S slay the Olympics. The service was absolutely impressive. We had a *lot* of requests and they nailed them all. When we were cold, they opened the windows to let in the warm summer breeze. When we needed a side of ranch, they delivered. Chicken Caesar salad was perfection. Definitely come here if you want to post up with your buds and watch sports. Ambiance was 10/10.

This was my first regular visit to Top Tomato at the corner of 11th and Sansom, right across from the Jefferson medical center. Last time was for a special Yelp event upstairs. I sat at a quad high top in the bar. It wasn't too busy for a midweek lunch - a few peeps at the bar and only a few tables occupied by hospital staff on break. I thought about trying their Jersey Tomato Pie, but ultimately went with the Eggplant Parm Sandwich. Solid choice. It was a big torpedo roll loaded with thin sliced nightshade, that appeared to be pan fried before filling the bread handle, ladled with good red sauce and covered with melted mozzarella. It was very enjoyable. In fact, the roll was exceptional. Crunchy and pleasantly chewy. It reminded me of a similarly rolled sandwich I had previously eaten, but I couldn't place where. I asked my superlative bartender/server, Tabitha about its source, so she went back to the kitchen to inquire. It was from Ba Le Bakery, the Vietnamese ovens on Washington Avenue in South Philly. Of course! I have had several Banh Mi sammies there and nearby pho joints. They were always memorable. French style with thinner crust than Italian, but still crisp shell and airy middles. Worked just great as the edible container for the eggplant, sauce and cheese. Score a big 5 Stars for Top Tomato, who took the chance to change up the expected bakery choices with an even better cultural diversion. Very cool!

I'm not a huge fan of pizza, I know, SHOCKING, and I'm usually a bit more picky/less likely to try different kinds. However, this place made me a believer. I had the margherita pizza and one with just a square shaped pizza topped with tomatoes and both were fantastic. Every cocktail I tried was also yummy. I was here with a group but it's great for friends night out, a casual date, or even large groups with family. I loved the staff as well, they were all super helpful.

Walked in after finally finding a place on New Year's Day that was open. Was greeted by the owner it seemed to be and was seated right away. There's a bar upstairs if you'd like to sit and drink with others. The sandwich was our top 10 sandwich ever. Something about how they fry their chicken makes it delicious. The pizza was on the sweeter sauce side but very good with a crisp to it. Zucchini was flaky and with dippings on the side made it great.Best food of the day that we've had in Philly

Stopped in for one of their quizzo nights here and they have some good happy hour specials. Cheesesteak sliders were decent and a good deal. Pizza was as well. Lots of drink specials available with good selection. It does get very crowded and loud here as it's a popular spot, so grab a seat early. Overall pretty good.

A classic dive bar with great comfort food and drink deals! The staff are kind and service is quick - great pizza in particular! Recommend for a casual night with friends, watching sports, or relaxing in a comfortable environment. Definitely a younger crowd but still a lot of space to avoid crowds.

This place is great, excellent bartending service from Tabetha Ann, 5/5 stars . If you're a married man and slightly nice to her she also offers an "extra" service, though I heard that was only 2/5 stars. It's on site "services" so that's convenient.
