Top Taste 2

Found myself near the airport and craving something besides fast food, so thought I'd give Top Taste a try. The neighborhood is not too fancy but I felt safe during my daytime visit. Don't think they get a lot of non-local customers though--as I entered, the owner scowled and asked "Whatcha looking for?" I replied, "Uh, Jerk chicken?" She then broke out in a huge smile and called over a guy behind the counter. Maybe she thought I was mistakenly looking for a convenience store? Anyway, I ordered a "small" jerk chicken plate with rice and peas and cabbage. It was huge! They asked if I wanted extra gravy on top and I enthusiastically said yes. Got a huge serving that I ate for lunch and carried me through the rest of the day. Chicken was tender and fell off the bone, the rice was fresh and delicious, and the cabbage was tasty. It had a good kick but wasn't too spicy. I will definitely return.

The food is ok for the price. The people there meet expectations It's a walk in, not a sit down, just a take out joint.

I usually go to the Top Taste in West Philly but today i wanted to try the one in South West Philly. Let me tell you the food is just as good as the one in West Philly i think their the same family. The staff is friendly as well this is a nice spot to go to if you want some good jamaican food.

I got the oxtail dinner with mac n cheese and cabbage and lemme tell you. IM FROM CHICAGO AND THEY HAVE THE BEST OXTAILS I'VE EVER HAD! They weren't gelatinous or tough. I didn't try anything else but the oxtails are worth the money.

Before I can even comment on the food I must speak on the exceptional customer service. I was greeted upon entry and not rushed at all to order. The food was excellent. Well seasoned, fresh and good portion. I ordered Ox tail and after taking one bite my heart was at ease. I've been craving ox tail all week. Thank you to the beautiful "QUEEN" behind the counter.

This review is about the breakfast that this location sells in the morning Mon thru Sat. I've never had the Caribbean food. To my knowledge that's run by different people. I patronized this place several times, however today I noticed some unsafe hygiene practices. When I mentioned to the person that runs the kitchen, the things that I've seen with his staff not washing their hands he got very defensive. All I wanted was to get breakfast. Not argue about cleanliness. I will never go to this place again. If I seen the things that were openly disgusting, what don't I see. If you go to this location make sure you bless your food. You'll need it

I travel all the way from New Jersey to get this food. The jerk chicken falls right off the bone. The rice and beans and cabbage are seasoned perfectly. I highly recommend!
