Tonic Bar & Social Club

We went to Tonic Bar for some drinks and we had the best time. I ordered their Lemon Basil martini and OMG! Best drink ever. Highly recommended and they had a singer who was awesome.

Very nice and comfortable interior. Bartenders are great and my old fashioned hit the spot. Their hours, location, and weekly live music make this place so special to many locals to Wake Forest. Highly recommend this establishment.

I stopped in early, a little after 5, to kick off the evening with a cocktail before going out to dinner. I asked the bartender for an off-menu tequila cocktail - she crafted for me this beautiful Tequila Sour. Beautiful presentation with Luxardo Cherry Juice at the base, egg white to keep true to the Sour recipe. Wow this was good. Kudos!!

Tonic is a welcome addition to historic downtown Wake Forest. I'm such a fan of this area and it certainly seems it's being made over with the goal of keeping its historic roots while mixing in the new to keep the locals and visitors coming. At first I was worried; did they just paint the former bookstore gray, throw some couches in and put some mirrors up, call it a bar? No. Try the drinks.I visited early on a Friday evening while it was fairly quiet but it looks like from the other reviews it gets busy at night.I had the Whiskey Sour Proper made with Bulleit bourbon and it was great. My husband had an Old Fashioned equally as good and strong. I noticed the wine whole bottle prices were very fair, but I'd have a hard time ordering one with all the beautiful cocktails they craft. Maybe with a group? In any case I hope it stays that way. Nice to have options! They do have beer as well, both on tap and bottles. I like the simplicity of Tonic. It's strictly drinks (and they offer Chex mix snacks) so get dinner elsewhere. I appreciate that as these businesses go up, they complement one another. I've been to White Street Brewing, Unwined on White and now Tonic and while all cater to the 21 and up crowd, there's a different feel to each. Tonic certainly feels the most "grown up". I look forward to going again on a night with live music!

Louisburg NC not Wake Forest NC. If you come on a night when they have entertainment you can't get service and seating is limited. Twice we have been unable to get any service waited more than 10 minutes then only when we waved them down. Once was at the bar and the other was at a table. Food was just OK. MUSIC WAS SO LOUD the help could not take an order Had to use sign language then the order was wrong.Probably will not come again.

Tonic is a local hot spot so expect it to be packed on the weekends. We were finally able to check this place out during an off time to try a round of cocktails. The orchard exchange for me and the blackberry smash for my husband. They were both good. It's cute inside and is the perfect place to stop in for a drink while exploring downtown Wake Forest.

Great bar! Nice atmosphere and the bartenders make great drinks. Proper sour is lemony, not too sweet. They also have nice gin and tonics with extra ingredients. Lively place with live music on the weekends.

Great spot to hang out with friends and listen to live music. Excellent bartender. Evan rocks!

Had to wait because bartender was spending the entire time flirting with two older guys at the bar trying to pick her up, not attentive at all to anyone else in the bar
