I had a potential client tell me "Ignore the Philly Cheesesteak when you go to Philly. You need to get a Roast Pork Sandwich from Tommy DiNic's in that big market. It won Best Sandwich in America..." He closed his dissertation with "Throw out everything you thought you knew about sandwiches." ... Done.I was going to Philly that weekend to visit my gf, so I had to get the sandwich and tell him it was amazing regardless. I'm trying to win his business. We entered the bizarrely calm Reading terminal market, got in a short line, and ordered the beloved Roast Pork Sandwich. It was made up of Roasted Pork Shoulder, Broccoli Rabe, and onions.Honestly it was pretty damn good, but it wasn't an "Oh my god..." on the first few bites good. Best sandwich in America I just can not get behind. However, it was voted the champ back in 2013. A lot can change in 10 years...Regardless, I sent an email to the potential client with a picture of me CHEESIN and said "I can fully see why it was voted the best sandwich in America..."IG @jnov_ Tiktok @jnov_reviews

Found inside Reading Terminal Market. Crowned "The Best Sandwich in America" by the Travel Channel! Definitely a crowd pleaser based on the line but don't worry it moves fast. We tried both pork and beef but made the mistake of not adding the greens (garlicky broccoli rabe). Apparently that adds to the flavor but the provolone and hot peppers still hit the spot.

First off, this is a hearty place to eat a sub or whatever hearty sandwich that you desire. The guest service gentleman at the hotel highly suggested this place when visiting Reading Terminal. I need to remind myself that past experience has taught me to take suggestions from hotels with a grain of salt. I liked the brisket, which was like mammoth size and shared with my husband. It had onions, mushrooms, and peppers. There was some spicy seasoning, and that was good, but overall, something about this sandwich made it lackluster. The staff ran quickly, and we weren't sure whether or not they took out order correctly because we ordered a sweet style and not spicy style. It seemed that my taste buds tasted spice more than anything sweet. If I were to suggest, I would only recommend this over fried chicken.

During a recent trip to Philadelphia, I made a stop at Reading Terminal, which my local friend assured me was a must-visit spot. The place is a massive food court teeming with all kinds of delicious food options, but beware--it gets incredibly busy. Navigating through the crowds was a bit of a challenge, and my hunger was quickly turning into hanger.Armed with a list of local recommendations, I zeroed in on Tommy DiNic's. The roast pork sandwich, complete with broccoli rabe, was highly recommended, so I decided to give it a try.Let me tell you, this sandwich was absolutely incredible. Hands down, it was my favorite thing I ate during my entire trip to Philadelphia. The roast pork was moist and juicy, perfectly complemented by the slightly bitter broccoli rabe. The balance of flavors was spot on, and it even had a hint of horseradish that added a delightful kick. This sandwich is a dream for anyone who loves a moist, flavorful bite. Every mouthful was a pleasure, with the juicy pork and fresh veggies melding together perfectly. I would gladly eat this sandwich over and over again. If you find yourself at Reading Terminal, Tommy DiNic's is a spot you cannot miss. The roast pork sandwich is a standout, and I guarantee you won't be disappointed.

The place was very popular, busy and had a lineup but it moved fast, as the staff were fast paced and efficient. I ordered the roast pork sub with broccoli rabe and sharp provolone. Wasnt sure what to expect as sometimes pork can be dry but this certainly was not! The pork was sliced thin and moist and well balanced with the broccoli rabe and provolone. Very tasty and totally would recommend it to anyone to try!

Needed to grab lunch so we went into the market and decided on this yummy little joint. It was busy but they have their process down. You get in line (stay in line the whole time until you get your food) and someone takes your order, you pay and then you get your food. The sandwiches were huge! We got a pork sandwich and a brisket sandwich, both with broccoli rabe. I really liked the rabe on them! Both meats were tender and juicy. So yummy. I would defiantly go back!

Stopped in here to grab a quick bite and we were glad we did! Service was prompt and organized, total wait was maybe 5 minutes. Ordered the roast pork and brisket sandwich's. Both with cheese, peppers and broccoli rabe. Food was amazing and too large to finish! Location is in the Reading Terminal Market. Location is extremely busy but they get you through the line very quickly. Well worth the stop!

This place has so much hype.. and the sandwiches are pricey.. only for it to taste.. bland. I really found the sandwich to be lackluster and not anything noteworthy. My friend ended up getting a pastrami sandwich from nearby and it was so much better than DiNic's unfortunately.
