I had family in town, and they were carving Japanese for dinner, so we went to Tomiko's.I'm kicking off the review with 1 star on service. The place wasn't busy when we arrived, so we got seated quickly. And from there, service went downhill. First, they only gave a single menu and said to look at the menus to go online. After deliberating over what to order, we (a party of 6) finally nailed it and patiently waited for the and waited, waited, waited, and waited. I notice 2 servers and many bussers. I went to the hostess to tell our server we were ready to order... again waited and waited. Another server was standing near the POS machine; we asked him can he help, and he yelped that's not my table; that was the other guy, and abruptly when on his way. That tipped me over, and I finally said something out loud and rude about his actions. Our server came around and took our order, and the sushi and bento box was pretty good ... I gave the food 3 stars.To the owner /management, you need to have more servers for the establishment so the local supporters continue coming; you also need to check your server's attitude when dealing with paying customers who waited patiently to get attended to.

Tomiko is one of my top spots for lunch or dinner if I'm at the outlets or find myself at 99/290 area. The ambience is nice and they often have daily or special rolls on their blackboard at the entrance. They have private smaller tables, a huge bar, and some larger more open area tables so something for everyone.

I went back to Tamiko the other day . I forgot just how excellent the food was at that restaurant! I have the tuna salmon and white fish martini , and that was some of the freshest fish I think I've ever eaten . Then I had my usual favorites and they were excellent as well . Don't miss Tamiko if you go to Cypress to eat it's worth the drive .

My favorite. Place. Ever. There's chicken yakatori is the best appetizer along with their gyoza (our two go tos). The service is always spot on and usually it's never too packed where you're having to wait more than 10 minutes if that. Our personal favorites are the filet Habbachi and the cucumber roll and tuna tower. Their Terriaky sauce is sooo good too, there's nothing here that I can complain about.

this was the worst experience we have had since moving to houston. the sushi was - well i would recommend kroger sushi over this. Our server was inattentive- making little conversation. she brought the wrong appetizer to us, and then completely forgot the miso soup we ordered. once closing out- she charged us for the miso and when we brought this up, she asked if we still wanted it? ma'am no. we were obviously done with all. i kindly told her to remove it.Being a former server myself i can understand mistakes if it's a busy night, but we were one of 3 tables there. and she just handed us the final ticket without saying a word. terrible service and it seemed like the staff was having a play date in the corner. 40 bucks in the trash, go to kroger
