TOKIO has become a must-go-to every time we visit Denver. The food is simply amazing. We started with the sautéed trumpet king mushroom appetizer, chicken Kara-age, and shishito peppers were a nice way to start our dinner. But don't overstuff yourself because the sashimi and sushi is super-fresh and delicious. Everything was just A+++++.The owners and staff treated us so well and were there for anything we needed.,

Overall decent sushi and ramen spot near the baseball stadium. Came here after a game, wasn't very packed and had a cozy ambiance. Ordered several of their specialty sushi (priced $15-18) and overall nice taste. Wasn't "wow'd" but the fresh did taste fresh. Unfortunately no mocktails on their menu which is less common these days for the NA drinkers.

Came here with a friend on a Monday night. HAPPY HOUR! No reservation needed. It is located walking distance from most places downtown and the Coors field. They have bar seating a very cute upstairs that I would like to check out and a large table in the middle for a big group. They have something for everyone, ramen, sushi and cooked items. Everything was so fresh and delicious. It was pretty empty when we went so I would think that if it is more crowded it might take a while to get food. The staff were on top of it and attentive. The happy hour prices cannot be beat! I will totally come back for happy hour again. Strong 4/5 stars! :)

My new favorite sushi spot! I came for happy hour and really enjoyed my visit. Keep in mind their parking becomes a challenge during Rockies games. We sat at the counter and got to watch them prepare our rolls which was extra fun. The service was great and every staff member was welcoming.I really enjoyed the rolls with garlic butter as they were unique but everything we tried was awesome! It's a small spot but I haven't had any issues with seating when visiting.

Kind of bummed to have to leave a bad review for this place but considering that it was my birthday when I went I was pretty disappointed. I ordered a bunch of sashimi and nigiri and while it was great in the moment, hours later that night I had really really bad food poisoning. It was sad because I basically flushed away a hefty bill of sushi and sashimi. I had ordered fatty tuna, sea urchin, mackerel, king salmon, hamachi, unagi, and tuna. I understand that there are risks when it comes to consuming raw seafood and sushi/sashimi, however, I've dined at many sushi restaurants both averagely and expensively priced and I've never ever gotten food poisoning. My friend ordered a spicy shoyu ramen that night and it was terrible. I am not sure how they could consider the pork they served as chashu but it was super tough and did not taste fresh at all from the tiny taste I took of it. While the service and interior were great, I am sad that I can't say the same for the food. The only good tasting item that night was the miso soup. Overall, I was very disappointed by this visit and upset that my birthday dinner didn't turn out that great.

This place was... meh. We went for dinner on a Monday evening which was pretty quiet, yet service was slow. The food was also just okay. For apps - The shishito peppers had no flavor beyond themselves (no salt or seasoning), the miso cod was strange (it was sweet??). For entrees - The vegan ramen was noodles swimming in soy milk. I'm not sure how anyone eats it, it's so strange. The sushi I got was fine, nothing special. The mochi we got at the end was decent, I liked the mango flavor. The strawberry tasted a bit artificial. They didn't have green tea :(The ambience is cute and intimate, with dim lighting and decent seating arrangement. It was probably my (only) favorite part about this place.

I have been here a couple times and have never had a less than great experience. The food is so good. I love the creamoso Diablo and sushi is very fresh. The service is also good and food comes out reasonably quick. It's a small but cozy restaurant. It's perfect for a date night or dinner with a friend.

If you're looking for a nice, yet casual spot for sushi and other Japanese fare then Tokio is for you! The restaurant is very clean, which for me is essential if I'm going to be eating sushi. I enjoyed sitting at the sushi counter and watching all the rolls and sashimi come out. The presentation is beautiful and everything is very fresh considering we are in a land-locked state. The food was delicious, and the prices are SUPER reasonable. In fact, it's a rarity to find prices this reasonable these days. 2 people can comfortably eat a very filling meal here without breaking the bank. The service was highly attentive and friendly. For parking, there is a parking garage right behind the restaurant. You're able to park there for free for up to 2 hours! I highly recommend it.

If you read my other reviews you might notice that Im a ramen guy. The Denver Ramen scene is t one of the better ones, but in this town Tokio is definitely going to be one of my go tos. I ordered takeout, and they did a great job on that front. The soup carried home and assembled well and still worked great. Im absolutely certain that it would have been even better fresh right at the table and Im almost certainly going to. When I was in the shop the location and vibe really scratched an itch that I have for vibes when Im doing ramen. Its in like a kind of slot house thats very cozy and kind of simulates that vibe i get when I see ramen places in Japan on TV, at least as much as can be done in a town like Denver. Now Im sure thats mostly me projecting a little of my fantasy, but this place played i to it and the food hit the spot.

My husband and I were interested in another restaurant that was closed for renovations. We were walking down the block and were intrigued by the Ramen dishes offered. As it turned out ramen wasn't available that night for some reason. The restaurant was offering a small beer, saki and some other drinks because the Ramen wasn't available. Fantastic customer service idea.We ordered sushi (chef's choice) and gyoza. Sushi was very good but the gyoza were a little mushy. We were on a trip and just passing through Denver, but I will certainly recommend this restaurant.
