Tobiuo Sushi & Bar

First and foremost, shoutout to Peter for excellent service and quality anime chat. Really set the tone for a casual, enjoyable lunch. I sipped on the Lychee Cosmo and it's not my usual because I rarely drink vodka in daylight, but it was light and refreshing without creating regret. The Oki Sake is an old favorite and continues to be delicious, same for the Diced Shrimp Tempura. The Brussel Sprouts were nice, just the right amount of sauce with an even balance of soy and ginger. Not much else to say because quality remains consistent: food is fresh and flavorful, drinks are solid.

Tobiuo is great! You'll find the spot in La Centerra near Cinco Ranch. There are a bunch of eateries and outdoor activities. You can make a reservation on Opentable, which I totally recommend during peak hours. The service here is pretty on point and consistent!They have plenty of booths and some larger tables for groups. It's also looks like they have a space for larger events near the sushi bar in the back. They have a full bar with a bunch of craft cocktails. I recommend the torched Paloma or some sake! Otherwise, they have a lot of other portions that are pretty consistent with sushi spots. Beer, wine, etc. I recommend any of the sushi rolls but we love the carpaccio or nigiri sets. I 10/10 recommend the pork belly skewers, miso soup and edamame! This place is also pretty great for a date night or chill lunch. We'll be back!

Over priced and small portions. We took 3 teenage boys and it was not the place to get them fed as the price is TOO high for the amount of food. The service was very strange. A lot of wait staff standing around but only one or two attending ALL the tables. Our drinks arrived after our food and only after reminding the server twice. One of the food orders finally arrived after everyone else had finished. Not going back

We requested Andy to be our server again, and as always he was amazing. We received top tier service, and will continue to request him as our server as long as he works here.The food was delicious. Fish was fresh and high quality, and the hot dishes hit the spot. Everything was great except for the Foie Gras. Instead of being paired with a berry compote, it was served on toast with peanut butter and oh man... talk about about let down. The consistency of the peanut butter ruins it, and there's nothing to cut the heaviness of the Foie Gras and the PB. I had bragged to my family that it was the most delicious dish on the menu, and after we tried it I received side-eye. Quite frankly, I was devastated. I grieve the loss of the star dish I had many times before. I hope that the seasonal pairings get better next time.

This was my first time at this restaurant and I would actually give this restaurant a 4.5 star rating. Overall everything was very good but I would say my drink the lavander lychee and the hamachi bruschetta were my favorite overall. Definitely going back for those too. Saw other interesting things on the menu I definitely want to go back for. The place is very nice and looks fancy enough for date night or girls night out. The serve was very attentive and the food was served very fast.

Booked this restaurant for an early birthday dinner as it is also the first visit in Houston/Katy area. Our server introduced himself, stated the recommendations, and was so helpful with the menu. We were also given a free tuna carpaccio to try! He was such a sweet soul! He saw we did not order any cold dishes so he thought we could try the tuna which was so flavorful. The tanginess and sweetness was so well balanced.We ordered the shrimp tempura as an appetizer. It was to die for! It was different compared to the usual shrimp tempura you would have at japanese restaurants. Next, we had the chicken thigh robata, spicy sake (salmon) maki, texas wagyu maki, and two ikura nigiris. As for drinks, I got the lychee cosmo and my boyfriend had the torched paloma which were both so tasty! The flavor and alcohol levels were well balanced.The fish as you can taste was so fresh! The ikura was perfectly sweet! As you know if you are a salmon roe/ikura fanatic, when it's salty, it's clearly not fresh.The spicy sake maki could use a little more spicy mayo sauce. The salmon in the roll, however, was great. The chicken thighs were marinated well and was juicy enough. Lastly, the texas wagyu roll was decent. I wished the filling of the roll was more "melt to your mouth" and more flavorful. Our server also gifted us dessert because we mentioned we were celebrating birthday early. It was a oreo crumbed chocolate mousse cake with smoked chocolate ice cream. The service that was provided was beyond words.All in all, I'd recommend this place to anyone who would like to get a quick bite or even celebrate an occasion. If I went starving, I would try more items on the mebu. It was definitely a good find in Katy!

Finally gave this place. Try after hearing such good things about how they are better than Kata, my go to fancy sushi spot. They are good! My favorite was the wagyu mushroom roll, the toro foie gras, and the Japanese fish in the sashimi platter Service was great and sushi fish quality was great but I would still prefer kata. Tobiou definitely worth a try though!

A great dining experience. Loved all the different options and the specialty drinks! Sashimi and rolls are very fresh and consistent.

This place is perfect for a date night or girls night! The food is quality and delicious. It is on the pricey side and the portions are smaller. It's all worth it though! The service was good and the waitress answered all of our questions about the menu. My mom really enjoyed it on her birthday.

It's expensive but easily worth the money for quality service and sushiWe went in, not realizing that it was that packed, but then I forgot it was Valentine's Day as well to be honest as we left one of the waiters named Chris came running to tell me that there's a spot open if I'm OK with sitting at the bar area. Shout out to the homieNeedless to say, the food is exceptional, no matter what you get especially when the service there is so good they walk you through whatever it is that you might like If you're too picky, you shouldn't even be here if you don't have the taste for it anyways If you like the different types of seasonal fish or what they have a limited time, it's honestly really good I would easily go again and look out for Chris!
