Nice outside seating area with a rustic feel.I was in Oxford for the day and there aren't a lot of options, Yelp showed place with some nice reviews. It's a casual brewery and entry with a small menu. I asked about the fried chicken and opted for a sandwich. The hostess also recommended mac and cheese. I can say the portions are large and the pricing was realistic. My sandwich was delightful, I had added cheese and a side of bar b que. I really liked how crispy and juicy it was. The Mac and Cheese is creamy and had a unique beer based flavor. It's very rich so 4 bites was all for me.They make their own Italian dressing and it's a winner. People were gathering for music that was being set up outside, and I was able to pet a very friendly hunting dog on the way out.Definitely above average for a casual place.

Things at Tobacco Wood have changed- the beers here have gotten really consistent, really delicious. And now, with the new menu concept from local chef Marc Cavenaugh, the food quality has gone up and to the right.Cases in point: new pub food fare, like the cavatappi-based Mac and Cheese offering, with crispy pork belly; fried Brussels sprouts with a sweet hot honey, and buffalo -breaded cauliflower. The portions are made to share, all pretty much ginormous- order one for at least two. The Mrs. got the smash burger, which rivals Town Hall in Wake Forest for one of the best burgers in the Triangle: bacon-y, cheesy, stacked high on a not-too-sweet bun.Tobacco Wood has made the right move- hiring the talent to make sure that they are back on the scene for a great pub lunch or dinner. As of this review, they're also doing a Sunday brunch popup with Bigfoot BBQ, who is making some of the best whole hog Q meat within a 60-mile radius. Either menu is worth tucking into with a pint of something refreshing and spending some time at the outdoor seating with friends and neighbors in this great small-town atmosphere.

Hands down, my new favorite brewery outside my driving radius. Honestly, I might consider at least an annual 2.5 hr drive to get to Tobacco Wood! We were heading home this past weekend after a night in Greensboro, and I wanted a convenient lunch stop with a decent looking beer & food menu. this stop was close to 85, a plus, with an extensive brew list and good reviews. It was, aside from the reason we went to Greensboro, the next best part of our trip!We arrived around 11:45am on Sunday and there were only 2 other parties in the brewery. There was plenty of table seating, low and high-top, though this quickly filled after noon. In fact, the whole place was hopping by 12:30. They do have longer tables that could easily accommodate two smaller parties. We got drinks first and I was thrilled they they offer samples, taster sizes, half and full pours. The two I tried - an amber and the FM1 IPA - were both SO full of flavor that we got some discounted 4-packs to go! We ordered food shortly thereafter and it took about 15 minutes to be brought to us. They have 2 stations for ordering - one for food & one for drinks, but they can both access the same tab and they use a number system to see where to deliver food. Collectively, we tried the BBQ chicken tacos with mac and cheese, kids grilled cheese with baked beans and fresh salad with grilled chicken. Everything was SO good! The chicken on the tacos was very flavorful and lean and the toppings were a perfect balance. My daughter's grilled cheese was huge, with a great ratio of bread/cheese and not the least bit greasy as some other sandwiches I've tried. The sides were tasty and good portions. My salad was fresh with a large amount of chicken for the $2 up charge. The staff was friendly and helpful during our entire visit! Even the restrooms were super clean. Near the restrooms, there is a shelf of board games & toys available to use during your visit. Overall, an awesome visit to a place I REALLY wish was closer to home. I definitely recommend a stop if you're heading along 85!

This is the first female owned brewery in NC per the manager- located conveniently a couple miles off a major interstate. This is quite a unique brewery- several outside tables - one area with a canopy - unique designs all around the inside with the American Flag posted several places around this physically expansive warehouse turned brewery. My food was delicious- chopped steak on buttered bun with bacon - hubby had an old fashioned thick bologna sandwich. Several long wood tables - a reading nook - the manager and team were very busy at this time but the manager did take the time to discuss this location and past remodeling. The menu was a little hard to see for my hubby and I - but a team member helped. I like that there was water and cups as the order is placed and paid for.The menu board behind the counter was a little hard to read with the older eyes but this was an enjoyable meal. There came quite a crowd - this is a popular brewery serving different kinds of beer & brewery beverages. In the outside - several old time kegs around the lot - very unique indeed. This is not a place to quickly get your order- patience required especially during peak times.

While at a bar I frequent, I tried a sour they had from Tobacco Wood Brewing, and wanted to see what else they offered. We decided to go to the Oxford location because it was a hair closer, and I needed to go to Oxford anyway. We were not disappointed in the least! They have a decent selection of beer, some of them rotate in and out (such as the "Cupid is as Cupid does" sour I had), which looks like it will keep things fresh, and you can take home a Crowler if it's not something they normally bottle/can. It was pretty cool watching her pour, then seal a fresh can to go! It looks like they have a rotating kitchen too, and when we went there, Bigfoot BBQ was the food vendor. The food was fantastic (the loaded fries were amazing, and almost a meal by itself!), the barbecue sauce was really good (not too thick/thin), and the people were very friendly. When you order beer, you go to the bar, and with the food, it was brought out to where we were sitting. They are two separate companies, so the food is paid separate from the drinks, but that's no big deal. This will definitely be added to our list of local favorites, and we will return again!

TOTALLY SURPRISED!Visited TWB again after a couple of year break and was taken aback by the number of families with children. It makes sense as the layout with picnic tables and a concrete floor is easily cleaned and is kid friendly. The beer was awesome and we also enjoyed the brisket nachos. Looking for great service, food and beer in Oxford- this is your spot!

I looked at the menu in advance and wanted ALL the food. Made plans with family to meet for lunch and a drink. It was a beautiful day for a ride to Oxford. I love that the decor reflects it is a female veteran owned establishment with American flags all over. We got the Pimento dip to start, and our server, Ivy, recommended getting extra chips and veggies.. thank goodness. Not sure what the pita chips are made from, but holy moly they were good! I don't drink beer, but had a taste of the Cider and it was pretty good. I stuck with the Mimosas. Other items ordered were the chicken sandwich with okra and the chicken and Waffles. All were delicious and everything was priced very reasonable which was refreshing. Ivy and Blake took great care of us, were friendly and were hustling to serve everyone. We were there a while and there was a shift change. Kelly and Mark took the reins and were just as great. We will be back till we try ALL the food.

Wished I could give it a half. The staff seems nice. We just looked for a local joint to stop on our way home this came up gave it a shot. Probably should've kept driving. I got the beer flight which is five samples of their own beers. They are good but not great. Can't say I have one I would choose in a pint. We ordered the appetizer of queso and house made chips. Not that great. Wished the queso had better flavor but oh wellWe ordered the chicken and waffles. Two waffles that tasted like doughnuts and a small piece of chicken thigh with zero flavor. It's kind of like the chef forgot about salt. Sorry but not a great evening meal. I don't live in area so returning is not an option to try other things on the menus. Plus there is the annoyance of two different ordering places one for food and one for beer. Very strange. As if the kitchen was owned by a different company

First time here, and we were highly impressed. Service was outstanding, and the food was just as good. We were just passing through but will definitely stop there again when we are in the area. Highly recommend!
