This past weekend was a special weekend for my wife and me--it was our wedding anniversary. I had the pleasure of planning for our anniversary, and our final outing for the day was dinner at Tio Luchó's, a Peruvian restaurant. My wife and I enjoy ethnic food, and having once traveled to Peru and tasted their delicious cuisine, we had to try this restaurant. It was a nice surprise. I made reservations and indicated that this was a special day for us, and our server, Angel C., made our first experience at the restaurant wonderful. The ambiance of Tio Luchó's was warm and inviting, perfectly setting the mood for our special night. We started off with appetizers, ordering the Tio's Salad, which had quinoa, aji dulce, apples, tomato, feta, and rocoto. We added grilled chicken, and the portion was large enough to share. For the entrée, I had the Pollo a la Brasa, which included roasted half chicken, Manny's collard greens, fingerling potatoes, and aji verde. My wife had the Snapper Ceviche, featuring sea island red peas, sweet potato, cancha corn, and aji limo leche de tigre. We also added Chifles Chips, which are plantain chips. The service from Angel C. was phenomenal. He went above and beyond, taking the time to explain everything and giving us a few recommendations. For drinks, both my wife and I chose a Peruvian classic, the MARACUYA SOUR, which included pisco quebranta, lime, passionfruit, egg white, and angostura. We both enjoyed our drinks. The restaurant was kind enough to surprise my wife and me with dessert: Picarones, which are fried sweet potato doughnuts served with warm spiced syrup.Additionally, the restaurant offers 2-hour free validated parking at the Highland Parking Deck, which was very convenient.Overall, our experience at Tio Luchó's was exceptional, and we look forward to returning soon.

I visited this spot over the summer and was so excited to have some Peruvian food. I was really looking forward to the national dish. At the time, I was unable to eat red meat so I was very disappointed when I learned that the lomo saltado was not available as pollo saltado. Everything else that was available to me I combed some version of fried fish. I reluctantly chose a fish that arrived in small portion with small side portions; underwhelming for the price. My meal included fish, collard greens, and a thin saucy combination of beans and calamari pieces. The textures weren't complimentary in my opinion and everything tasted salty. The others in my party were also disappointed and didn't finish their meals.I simply didn't enjoy my meal and nothing about our experience was redeeming; given the incredibly underwhelming experience, I can definitively say I will not be back. I recognize the many positive reviews and hope that others continue to enjoy!

We were welcomed at the door and sat outside as requested. The first issue was the 25 minute wait time for our drinks. When they finally arrived, we were underwhelmed with the level of crafting. Unfortunately, the starters were so unimpressive, we didn't order entrees. The Fried Calamari was lightly breaded, fried and extremely salty. They weren't nearly as crunchy as we expected. The Papas Fritas initially came out the size of canned green beans (bottom of the bag vibes). They did bring us new batch! The Snapper Ceviche. Served with island red peas, cancha corn (like a softer version of corn nuts), chalaca (thinking similar to pico de gallo) and like 3 pieces of lightly fried or baked sweet potato. I honestly didn't understand this crudo because, for me, the flavors didn't pair well. I had no idea what to do with the sweet potato. BUT, the flavor of the Snapper was a solid 7/10.We ordered plantain chips to pair with the Snapper Ceviche, and were disappointed that they were bagged and not fresh. The weight of the Ceviche crumbled the chips. Idk, maybe the main dishes are the talk of the town. But, can we be lead there with great starters?!

Went here a while back and have been meaning to post a review! I cannot speak for consistency since I have only been here once, but Tio Lucho's seems to be a solid spot! Interesting concept of Peruvian/southern fusion. I can't say I'm a fan of southern food, so that wasn't the draw for me, but I enjoyed my meal quite a lot as did the rest of the table. I ordered the half chicken, and I'm so glad I did. It was so much food for the price and so flavorful. I can't say I loved the okra on the side, but that's a me thing. Overall, I would still say 5/5 for now unless we go back and have a different experience.

This is an upscale Peruvian restaurant so the prices were pretty high, but I would say that the food did not disappoint. The portions were decent sharing sizes and the food itself was delicious. The restaurant was beautiful with nice ambiance, though the music choice was a little random. Our server was excellent and provided a lot of care and ensured we had a clean table between dishes. We really enjoyed the food and total experience!

A trip to Peru by way of Atlanta!Recently, my wonderful manager came into town and we made plans for a team dinner. When she asked me for recommendations, I dug into my handy Yelp collection of restaurants that have been on my list to try. Tio Lucho's was the perfect choice because I saw the love coming from my fellow Yelpers and with my manager being Peruvian, I knew (and hoped) she'd be a fan.Parking was easy when I arrived, leading me to a nice little spot on the street around the corner. Upon arrival, the hostess guided me over to our cozy table close to the kitchen. I'll say that service was amazing the entire evening! Our glasses were never empty and there was always a dish on the table. We started with Pisco Sours because, of course. I don't believe that I had ever had one before but if I had, it was quickly forgotten once I tasted this version. It was sweet but sour, fresh and frothy, loved it. To eat, we went with the tuna tiradito, ceviche, causa, lomo saltado, and pollo a la brasa. Friends - when I say that this was one of the best meals I've had in a minute. And I enjoy great food quite often! Everything was fresh and flavorful, I don't think there was a bite of the apps or entrees that didn't make me pause and savor it for as long as possible. Such a delicious experience!

Authentic Peruvian food in a modern ambience!!Parking: They have a parking garage behind for which they validate parking. Service: Our server was really nice and went over the menu for my friend who hadn't had Peruvian food before.Drinks: Drinks were on point. We got pisco sour and maracuya sour. Food: The ceviche was fresh and flavorful, it was very close to the one I had in Lima.

Visited on a Saturday evening. Had a reservation for 4 but there ended up being 5. We were lucky to find seating at the bar rather than having to sit outside. We all got waters, I had a glass of wine, husband had a beer, his father had a beer, and his father's wife had a strawberry smash. We sat and talked amongst ourselves after we ordered. My dad wanted the snapper, but unfortunately it's cooked in a sauce with shrimp and since he's allergic, he had to change his meal. We were grateful that the bartender let us know.Halibut Collar - thick piece of fish, nice crust, no flavor on the inside. Plantain chips were good. Some nut like side that I could've done withoutArroz de Mariscos - no calamari. He enjoyed his meal, said it was flavorful and cooked wellPicante de Mariscos - nice portion size and flavorfulJalea Mixta - fried and seasoned well

We had reservations at 7:30 and our table was perfectly ready for us when we arrived. The hosts were very sweet and kind. We received water right away and the server took our drink order. The food was SO GOOD. We had the octopus appetizer which was served with this wonderful tomato sauce and cooked so perfectly. The snapper ceviche was awesome and came with some calamari and toasted corn. The best was the Chaufa de Mariscos which really was pretty much a paella. SO GOOD. The pictures speak for themselves. The only thing that was slightly off-putting was our server. She seemed a little annoyed in general, and I noticed that after she took our food orders she took an empty glass of the table and rolled her eyes. Not sure what that was about. Otherwise, she was very present and the food was awesome. Definitely check it out!

What a delicious dinner! We came here on a Saturday night and were seated promptly. Our server was very nice and recommended we start with the Pisco Sour which was pretty tasty. We shared the Ceviche Carretillero (red snapper, fried calamari, corn, cancha, chalaca, leche de tigre) as well as the Crab Tostones (fried sweet plantains, lump crab, melted cheese, chalaca, aji verde, huancaina). Both were SO GOOD!I would definitely come back!
