With scores of Asian restaurants around 10th and 11th Streets, food that's merely 'okay' doesn't cut the mustard. Sorry Ting Wong, we weren't impressed. EXCEPT their shrimp-filled wontons are great. The broth, not so much, but the wontons -- bring 'em on! Eight per order of soup. (One bowl can easily feed three people.) I was looking for vegetable-based entrees but the menu appears to be built around rice and noodles. Dish #1: Fish Filet with Chinese Vegetables on Rice: At first bite T said, "this reminds me of fish sticks." I see where he's coming from, but my take was more like Arthur Treacher's Fish n' Chips (for us oldies who remember that chain.) There were a couple of pieces of carrots, but the predominant vegetable was bok choy. They ought to change the name.Dish #2: Beef chow fun: not a stand-out dish, but not bad. A good amount of beef, but it needs somethin'. I'll doctor up our leftovers at home.A note to self: IF we ever return -- note the capitalized IF -- try their spare ribs. They looked pretty good.

Always the best for authentic Cantonese & southern Chinese food. It's our go to for roasted duck, pig and soy chicken, noodles ,rice platters & everything in between.IMHO there's no dish that their chef can't do well.Service is quick & no-nonsense but courteous.Ambience is super casual. It's all about the food.

Food: 4/5, Value: 5/5Great authentic Cantonese foodThis place has really great authentic food that is a great value. For under $10 each, you get a large portion of food. We got the beef chow fun and Peking pork chop. The beef chow fun had good flavor and the beef was tender, although a little under-seasoned. The Peking pork chop sauce was perfect and authentic and was hot and crunchy. You can get shrimp cheung fun for $4 which is cheaper than any dim sum place and one of my favorites (so chewy and soft with a good amount of shrimp). One of our favorites in china town!

Since my last review is very much outdated, I had to update.Ting Wong has the best roast duck and pork in the city. While service can be a bit inconsistent (thought still very nice and pleasant people), it's par for the course for any cheap delicious Asian restaurant. Highly highly recommend.

It's safe to say that this is a very authentic Chinese restaurant. They don't have anything like General's chicken. So ultimately, I went with Chicken, Chinese broccoli and rice. Pretty straightforward, nothing fancy. It was a very hot day and they only serve hot tea (NO SODA). We asked for cups and ice to cool things down. As luck would have it, they ran out of cups and I drank out of a to go bowl for soup. Side note: make sure you tip, they will ask for it.

I took a trip to Chinatown to pick up bakery goods for my company's Lunar New Year Party - I got there early thinking the bakery would be open at 8:30 am however they opened at 9am. I had 30 minutes to kill. I wandered to the neighborhood looking for a coffee shop and stopped to checkout the duck and pork. They were just hanging them up and they had seating and I saw a big pot of broth steaming. My tastebuds woke up and was craving Chinese noodle soup. 3 components of delicious noodle soup. #1!main ingredient is the broth - not super greasy, watered down and super salty. You should taste the yummy goodness that comes from the bones #2 noodles - cooked al dente not mushy or broken ( why do people break precious noodles up) thin egg noodles are the best#3 meat - fresh Peking duck and char sui pork . Perfection!

One thing that separates a good restaurant from a great restaurant for me is the consistency of quality food that is served. Ting Wong is very inconsistent. When I was here a few weeks ago I ordered roast duck, (crispy) roast pig and roast pork (aka char siu). The roast pork was excellent but the roast duck was average and the roast pig was terribly dry. Came back today and ordered all three again but this time both the roast pork and roast pig were dry while the roast duck was pretty good. The marinades they use on the roast duck and char siu are very good but I could also tell that the food was not fresh. As for the roast pig here, it is not worth the price in my opinion and is usually bland and dry without sauce. The most consistent and best part? The rice.
