So, I stopped at The Wok and Bowl because I thought it might be a neat little place. The outside seems inviting and the inside is decorated to feel minimalist but organic and somewhat modern. I ordered the "Mini Soupy Bun w/Pork Filling" and I even think we paid for them, but they never came. The current menu is a few pages printed off and staples together into a makeshift booklet. There's tons of typos and misspellings. The dish I ordered was misspelled: "Sizzling Black Pepper Fired Noodles"Honestly, it made it sound better. I don't know what "Fired Noodles" would be, but the noodles were actually FRIED. Unfortunately, the noodles were also a bit under-cooked and the beef and vegetables (onion and peppers) were beginning to stick to the pan and burn a little bit due to the super high-temperature of the pan. I think it also might have been lacking a bit of water for the steaming of the noodles- had there but a couple more tablespoons, it might not have stuck as badly or burned anything. The flavor of the sauce was EVERYTHING. The type of noodles they used were perfect and the beef was tender and juicy. The overall rating I'd give this dish would probably be a 7.5 out of 10. My dad ordered the Beef Fried Rice (oddly, not misspelled- although directly beneath it the "Shrimp Fired Rice" was ) and then after the guy at the counter was putting in the order, he asked me again if I wanted beef or chicken. I said beef, but my dad thought he was talking to him, so he said chicken. The guy was visibly confused. I said, "I think my dad's saying he'd prefer chicken for his dish- so, chicken fried rice." To which the guy said, "We don't do chicken fried rice because they do next door. We don't take their business." That's pretty honorable, to be fair. He then said, "We have chicken and noodle and we have sizzling chicken." So, we went ahead with the Beef Fried Rice. When the food came out, the Beef Fried Rice came first. It looked a bit underwhelming, if I'm being honest. I tasted it and it was kind of bland-ish. The beef was tender and the vegetables were cooked but still crunchy and the egg wasn't overdone, but the rice was just kinda...bland. It tasted of oil and not much else. The guy asked about the flavor and said "Its not the same as American. It's Hong Kong style." I told him it tasted OK (which it did) and that it looked a bit different- that I'm probably used to more Soy Sauce. He said, "We don't use MSG in Hong Kong." So, that explained part of it, I'm sure. That's actually really good information though. The fact that they don't use MSG is a big plus for a lot of people...or will be when people realize it. Personally, I like my MSG. And I'm a bit partial to Sichuan style Chinese food. That Sizzling "Black Pepper Fired Noodles" had so much flavor though. My dad asked to try it and even though he doesn't handle hot/spicy we'll, he got seconds and thirds. He was digging it- didn't finish his Beef Fried Rice because he ate mine. I think it's a shame that they had to change their menu and stuff, but maybe the change to a simpler menu will help them in the long run. There's another review on this place giving them a low score due to several issues, but I think they'll manage to get better over time.

This is a new business and the issues I saw were correctable, but currently I can't justify giving them a better score. With that said, the best thing I had here was the green curry, which was legitimately good. The beef and shrimp vermicelli was okay - the protein was tasty. It seemed like it needed more sauce than what came with it - and I wound up asking for some sriracha because (inexplicably for a place where half the menu is Pho) there wasn't any at the tables. The free/tap water tasted metallic - they need to invest in a filter. That was bad enough that I bought a bottled water. The steamed spring rolls were standard.Service was uneven. When two people order together, their entrees should arrive at the same time. I could tell the server was inexperienced- again a lot of these issues are correctable. Also, my companion actually didn't order the green curry - the server confused S1 for F1, or something, in spite of the pointing at the place on the menu she wanted. As it turned out, the green curry was quite good, but its arrival was a surprise.Ambiance - well, it's new, and decently decorated. I didn't take a photo of the counter because there was someone standing behind it the entire time and I thought it would be intrusive, but there were two televisions on the wall, one playing CNN and the other was the Netflix screen that shows up when you don't play anything for a while.I figured I'd try the place because it was new and close. I might come back at some point, but probably not until they iron out the kinks.

They just opened, family ran business, very nice people, outstanding cooks and customer service. The tea I had was amazing I will provide a couple pictures. Huge parking lot, it's in a strip mall with lots of restaurants and stores around it. I would call it a Diamond in the Rough

I am apprehensive to share a review of this great new restaurant on Buford Highway because I'm afraid it will be packed every time I visit from here in out. The Wok and Bowl is an unassuming little restaurant in a strip mall, but has super friendly staff and even better food. I had the Shrimp Green Curry and it was amazing!!! Lots of fresh vegetables, loaded with fresh, large juicy shrimp and just the right amount of heat. All of the food was wonderful and I will definitely be back.

We stopped by for a snack. We had spring rolls and egg rolls. They were fresh, had good flavor, and reasonable at $5.99 for 2. Sorry didn't take pics, but would like to go back and try more options.
