A place evoking a little bit of Americana. We loved walking in and decided to try the chicken fried steak and the chopped steak (ground beef). We really wanted to love the place, but found the flavors needing a bit more punch for our tastes. Clearly people's reviews indicate a lot of them going there do enjoy the place, and they have a really nice wait staff, but we have had better. The booth was very comfortable, and we also think that matters.

I ordered the chicken fried steak with mixed veggies and green beans. Those veggies were delicious and I am not the kind of person who gives a lot of thought to veggies. I think they must have had a lot of butter. They were very tasty. The green beans were a bit soggy, but still tasty with small bits of bacon, but the bacon was soft, so I wasn't crazy about that. The chicken breast came with a cup of gravy on the side. I like it, it was like a bechamel sauce with some pepper and nutmeg flavor to it. Then I ordered a coconut pie that I loved! I will come back for sure. We came on a Saturday for lunch to make time for the next soccer game for my oldest son. The ambiance felt very calm and relaxing, not a cold and modern place. All the people here greeted us with a smile, they were all very friendly and accommodating. I could feel their interest was for us to be comfortable and satisfied.

Stopped by this cafe for breakfast on Sunday after our first two choices didn't work out. Was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. Food was great, service was attentive and prices were reasonable. I had the chicken fried steak breakfast with loaded hash browns which was great. My gf has the club sandwich which I got to try. It was great, I would go back just for that.

The family love going to whistle stop cafe! It's one of our favorite places to go. I'm not sure what happened but the chicken fried steak has changed. It was our go to spot on Mondays we're going to have to change it up now. Seems like the last month it's gone done. Not sure what it is but please bring back the old recipe! The staff is amazing btw so that's a huge plus

I'm very impressed with this place.Steak and eggs for me, breakfast bowl for the Mrs.The steak was cooked perfectly and tasted better than your local steakhouse.Breakfast bowl was a huge portion and equally delicious.Short stack on the side was fantastic.Above all, the prices weren't outrageous.Server was friendly and professional, and the place was quick and clean.5/5 stars and we'll definitely be coming back.

We Yelped this placed and impressed with the reviews. Come for breakfast, the ambiance nice . Our server Becca , she is very friendly and pleasant, I give her 4 .The food, I give 2 , bland , no seasoning I ordered the chicken waffles , it was so plain and no taste at all. Paid for service only, not worth the come back for food.

While the house salad was fresh and the chicken tenders were juicy, I was unfortunately a little underwhelmed. I had to salt the tenders to make them more flavorful, and their homemade ranch could have used more seasoning. They did a fairly good job on the gravy. It was creamy and peppered. The best thing about my visit was the bartender. She was super friendly and on the ball.

My server Becca, was phenomenal. Fries were coated in grease/oil. Not crispy. 5/10. I'll take them home and put them in an air fryer. My sub was homemade bread but equally as greasy. Not toasted. Delicious tho. The classic Burger was good. Not eat til you hate yourself good tho. And by far my favorite, fried green tomatoes. No complaints other than that
