The Vegan Side of Things

We went to the Vegan Fest in Atlanta by the Beltljne and tried the food truck from The Vegan Side of Things. And omgggggggg the most delicious vegan Mac n cheese everrrrr. The perfect t gooey ness of the cheese with the perfect seasoning and can we say that it had FLAVOR! I loved it! We also tried the vegan ribs which were made of jack fruit. Ohhhh so much seasonings and the perfect bbq sweetness! We had collards and beans for the sides and everything had so much taste! Since I don't live too far from McDonough I'll have to go and get some more !!

I see why this place only has one review. Monique D, I appreciate your review but I had a completely different experience.Upon arrival there was a lady behind the bar and a gentleman sitting at the bar. When I inquired how to order from the vegan side, she simply pointed and said "over there". Being unfamiliar with the process I proceeded to wrongfully enter the kitchen through a curtain. The gentleman (patron) that was sitting at the bar said it's normally on the monitor that sits on the bar but it isn't on today. So I went back to the lady and told her the monitor isn't working. She yelled at the guy/cook in the back. He came out, fiddled with it and up popped the menu. To his credit, he did actually greet me. The lady behaved as though she did not want to be bothered the entire time. After fixing the monitor, he then went back to the kitchen. I perused the menu and went back to the lady again to place my order. She sternly stated you order over there. I asked "how", "where"? The guy at the bar said with the guy in the back. I said how do I get his attention if he's in the back to place an order? She just looked at me and said nothing.At that point, I just left. It should not be a secretive 10 step process in order to place an order, and she needed an attitude overhaul. They need to get their act together if they hope to attract more vegan clientele.

We almost missed it because it shares the space with Rib Shack...so they are the The Vegan Side of the restaurant. The owners are very friendly. We tried the curry chicken and slaw plus the mushroom burger with a side of vegan mac and cheese both very tasty!!! So glad we looked past the bbq pit for this find!

Ignore the other reviews that don't give this five stars. This is a total gem and must go! My girlfriend and I are vegan cooks and planning on opening a café and the spot was just really incredible. The fried oyster mushrooms were on fire today and so was the jerk "chicken" mac & cheese. Don't miss this spot!

This little place is awesome! The food is delicious, you won't miss the meat go and try it. Highly recommend the Moxtails and fried oyster mushrooms. Fast and friendly service.

The moxtails are so delicious! I also ordered the oyster mushroom tacos with fries. I recommend both of these!

Finally made my way across the country to try this amazing vegan food and it did NOT disappoint! The hardest part was choosing between the many options. We settled on the moxtail plate with fried okra and fried oyster mushrooms and the jerk mac (per another customers recommendation). Both plates were devoured by the time we left! I can't wait to be back to support this business and try the other items! Vegan or not, I highly recommend stopping here!

The vegan food was delicious. I don't eat meat so I tried this vegan spot. The service was great.

I'm not being mean here but in order to leave a review I had to place some sorta rating to succeed further. I live in McDonough and am plant based vegan all day . I was looking for something close as not have to have to drive miles ie atl. Can someone tell me if this place exists? I drove all over the designated area trying to find it.. I checked google maps and even Siri directed me to where I thought I should be. After an hour or two I just gave up. Judging by the picture it seems like it's a food truck somewhere on a property. So is it a brick and mortar place or a food truck???I was definitely trying to support a local business but gee wiz it was like looking for a needle in a hay stack. Perhaps updating the physical appearance of the location in better online pictures may help. I'm sure I'm pretty educated direction wise and scanned the neighborhood and address several times maybe it's but .... Anyway I'll try other places sorry owners I tried

Absolutely love this place. Definitely a good hidden gem :) Food is made with love indeed.
