The Sugaree

Perfect place for that after dinner treat! Located down a set of steps off the Main Street in Wayne, it gives somewhat of a speakeasy vibe! You walk in and see a wall of candy stretched across the back wall. A wide variety of new age and old school candies! Turn around and there isn't ice cream bar serving delicious ice cream, shakes, and specialty sundaes! I had a sea salt caramel pretzel ice cream with hot fudge and sprinkles (free) and it was the perfect ending to the night. I will definitely be back for a milkshake!

We stopped here after dinner down the street. I am a huge fan of ice cream and this place came recommended by a friend. The atmosphere was fun. There is an entire wall of candy with lots of tempting choices. There is no indoor seating. My concerns come from the service and the ice cream itself. We ordered three cones and a cup. The two waffle cones we were given were broken. They were literally in pieces. When we mentioned it to the servers they asked if we wanted a cup for the pieces, instead of offering to replace them with intact cones. A piece of plastic (the size of the tip of a plastic fork tine) was found in the cup of ice cream. Part way through my cone I found a hair that definitely was not my own. Nasty. Needless to say, will not be coming here again.

Great Bassett's Ice Cream & fantastic customer service. They were out of bagels next door & I was invited to try The Sugaree. So glad I did.

Stopped by for some soft serve. The lady who helped us was awesome! Very friendly and provided us with numerous free samples. Definitely will be back.

What an amazing addition to downtown Wayne! After enjoying the music and dinner walked down for some nice cream. Clean great service and they even have gluten free cake and sugar cones!!! 10/10

Great ice cream and friendly customer service. They are not following their own (and mandated) mask and social distancing requirement. When I politely brought it to their attention, they glossed over it as something they can't/won't enforce with children. These 4-5 kids, ages 8-12 or so, and their parent, had masks that they were choosing not to wear, including leaning up to and over the counter.1

This place is just okay. The ice cream is ordinary compared to the previous Wayne bar ice cream.

I have yet to write a review on Yelp, but enjoyed my experience here so much I felt an insatiable need to do so. Outside of the ice cream (which was some of the BEST I've ever had), the true winner for me was the service. The employees were so kind and active. Only being open a short time, the knowledge and experiences they shared made the experience so unique compared your typical trip to the ice cream shop. I couldn't recommend this place anymore. The Peanut Butter ice cream especially,
