My boyfriend and I stumbled across this winery when we moved down the street. We decided to go in after work one day for a tasting, and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! The wine was great, and the place has a super cute industrial vibe. Cassandra did an amazing job explaining the different wines and made us feel super comfortable- even offered us chocolate to compliment the wine! We will definitely be back!

Giving three stars because the grounds were beautiful and the staff member was really nice and pretty knowledgeable. However, the wine is WAY overpriced. Don't get me wrong, most of it was decent, but $15 for a tasting and then around $40 per bottle is absurd. You can get some really outstanding California or European wines for that price point. A $10 tasting and $20 average bottle price would be more appropriate for this mid-grade wine.

Stay away. Far away. I live in the neighborhood and dropped by for a Friday wine tasting. Signed up for their mailing list to hear about special wine tastings or wine to purchase. 3 months later, much to my surprise, my credit card was charged for $146. I called and was told I'd signed up for the wine club. Not at all what I signed up for. The owner in dripping springs sent me a copy of the card I signed. No indication of a wine club and I did not make any commitment to buy anything. She has still not responded to multiple attempts to resolve the problem and I have cancelled my credit card. Don't go near the place.

Very nice place and still not very well known, so it doesn't get too busy. The interior is nice, they have two separate seating areas inside, each with a bar. They also have a conference room, which I assume you could rent. They offer wine by the bottle or glass in addition to tastings (6 for $15). Overall, their prices are on par with upscale wine bars, but it a more relaxed atmosphere and without the crowd.

Last weekend we attended a preview for the Solaro tasting room here in Houston. We love our wine and when we can't get out of Texas to have some we explore hill country. This building has been sitting there for some time and we've been eager for it to open right in our back yard. The venue is beautiful. Modern Texas on the inside and a cute back patio. Parking is across the street (TC Jester) and wasn't immediately clear that it was there. A few spots are directly outside. The staff were super friendly and seemed knowledgeable about the wines they were pouring. My very eager and knowledgeable husband tried to talk to some of the staff about other varietals and compare etc... their knowledge was limited to the wines at hand. Which makes sense but it would have been nice to talk further. There were a couple stunners among the wines as well as several duds. Since taste is subjective I will refrain from naming them. The group (three other couples we had not previously met) we were paired up with felt the same way as well. What I found surprising were the prices. Definitely not priced comparably, even for a "boutique" winery. We were also put off by the tasting fee not being waived (at least one!) with a purchase. I beliove they do waive for wine club memebers which is pretty standard. I was not motivated to join the wine club. Which says a lot!All in all I'd give it another look if a friend wanted to go but I will not be seeking it out on my own again

Quick service. Extremely knowledgeable staff. Good wines. Very clean. Slightly overpriced for tastings but not bad for a small, private, winery.

** This review is for an event we hosted at the winery **I honestly cannot say enough good things about this place. Trying to find a private venue in Houston on a Saturday night for 60 people without spending what you might on an actual wedding is tough! We stumbled upon the winery not realizing we only lived a block away and it was the perfect spot to host a couples shower for two of our best friends. Josh and Adam went above and beyond to meet our every request and were so flexible. If you're looking to host an event in the near future, THIS is the place. On top of everything else that night, we also had our fair share of their wine and it is AMAZING! Thanks to the entire staff at Solaro Urban Winery the night was a fabulous success!

Checked out this urban winery that's a stones throw from my humble abode. Great to have it in the neighborhood. Space is beautiful and wines are decent for being "Texas Wines." Got a $15 tasting which is a bit steep in my opinion. Thinking $10 would be a better starting point. To add any additional available wines/port to your tasting comes with a $3.50 per taste add-on. I also think that is high. Cheese and wine plates -- $7.00 fee.The reds were pretty decent wines. Their whites are in the $30 range and their reds are in the $40 range. They are boutique so wines can only be found at the winery or through their direct wine club.Staff is eager and helpful. I thought the friendliness factor was definitely welcoming. The winery is available for events and private parties. They are currently working on the patio and I expect it to be really nice come fall weather. They also offer catering options. Would be a great venue for many types of get-togethers.Pretty fun option in Houston. I think it will lead the way for more wine rooms like this. I recommend sharing a tasting to save some money. They do not waive tasting fees for any bottles purchased. Support local business but be smart!

Wines were good. Staff was nice and knowledgeable. Location was fun an convenient. Prices were WAY too high. My husband and I did 2 tastings and each enjoyed a glass of wine. Our total bill was $55. Each tasting was $15 bucks (even though the website says $12). We won't be going back just because of the pricing.
