The Smoke Ring

Finally, I had the opportunity to experience The Smoke Ring cigar lounge. Here's the story. My family and I were lodging at the Courtyard Marriott in Kemah, Texas. I was finally able to step out and enjoy a fine cigar. As I left my room, a lovely woman named Britain greeted me, and I informed her that I was heading out to smoke cigars. Without fail, Britain advised me to go nowhere else but The Smoke Ring. I took her advice and immediately drove my rental there. Just as soon as I entered the cigar lounge, I was welcomed and greeted by everyone. I made my way to their Phenomenal humidor. By far and without a doubt, this humidor is one of the greatest I've seen for a cigar lounge the size of The Smoke Ring. Furthermore, the establishment has a fantastic repertoire of quality cigars and unbelievably fair prices. If you're ever in the neighborhood of The Smoke Ring, be sure to stop by and grab a smoke. Went here on vacation to San Leon. Wife wanted to buy me some stogies for my birthday and suggested driving into Houston to Davidoff store. I searched for something closer to where we were staying and The Smoke Ring came up. Great selection of DAVIDOFF and other awesome cigars. The guy was very helpful and recomended some I might like. He was spot on!! Would definately go back.

Whatever you do be very careful in The Smoke Ring... if you pick up a cigar while shopping in the humidor and change your mind make sure you put it back in it's proper place or you will be asked to leave by no one other than the actual owner!!!!!This happened to my husband and I last night. We did apologize but the owner almost had to think about whether he would let us continue. We payed and left.. felt like we were being treated as criminals instead of the hard working, tax paying patrons we are......

Great environment just kind of smokey. Very knowledgeable staff will come back very soon.

Knowledgeable staff, comfortable lounge, and probably the best humidor I've ever walked through. This place is a gem.

My husband and I have been visiting The Smoke Ring on and off for many years. I am a natural tabaco smoker and prefer to smoke high end natural cigarettes and enjoy the occasional cigar. My husband prefers cigars.We have always had an exceptional experience and service until today. I was smoking a cigarette while my husband was picking out the cigar I was going to smoke from the humidor and grabbing his from the locker he rents.The person working today walked over to me and said that smoking cigarettes was not permitted per the house rules. I have smoked cigarettes at The Smoke Ring for years before or after my cigar and have never been told it is not permitted. I asked for a copy of the house rules and was told they do not have a copy. I was also unable to find the house rules on the website stating this.My frustration is "tabacco is tabacco". If I put the tabacco from my cigarette into a pipe it wouldn't be any different. Also, having house rules listed publicly could prevent any possible issues.UPDATE:About an hour to an hour and a half after I wrote this review a man named "Larry" came in and identified himself as the owner. He approached my husband and I VERY aggressively and and arrogant. He said "I hear you have a problem with our policy's" I began to explain that I was unaware of the policy until today and I was unable to find the policy on the website or on the membership paperwork. I also explained that I lit a cigarette while my husband was picking out a cigar for me. Larry then said "this is a cigar bar lady and we don't have to post our policies" in a very aggressive tone. Larry then wrote a check for the locker rental and said we were not welcome back.This entire situation could have been handled in a professional manner and I could have changed the google review once the situation was resolved. However, after being completely disrespected I do not recommend this place to anyone. The owner is aggressive, arrogant, and unprofessional. My husband and his buddies will find a new lounge.We are open to having a civilized and professional conversation about this situation.

Had my locker refunded and was asked not to come back because...get this...my wife smoked an all natural cigarette in the lounge whilst I was in the humidor picking out a cigar for her. The owner said we broke their "house rules" which he could not provide in writing or anywhere. In his rude, aggressive tone he told her" look lady this is a cigar bar, we don't have to post our rules." Then proceeded to say, " how about this, how about I cut you a check for your locker that you rent here and you never come back?!" To which I replied, " Go cut that check then." Mind you, I have been buying cigars from there almost exclusively since 2016. The owner has a poor people skills and doesn't mind talking down to women. That's shameful. New ownership would really shine up this gem. Great humidor, stocked very well. See ya soon Maduros and Casa de MonteCristo. Never coming back here.

This is Definitely the place to get some stogies on the south side of Houston. Depending on the time of day it's an easy in and out stop. Selection is great and the staff is very helpful...if you're gonna stay and light up this is the spot to go to...with nice relaxing lounge chairs, very clean restroom with all the amenities one can hope for in the Head. Now back to the time of day, if you come by during normal business hours of the adjacent lease spaces you might have a little difficulty in getting a parking spot but after those hours it's a breeze. Light up and enjoy!

Purchased some cigarillos and they were dry. Several of them split and were unsmokable. Called about the issue and all they said was that they'd tell the owner.
