The Refuge Bar & Bistro

I've been there a couple of times now and both times had a great experience. We were there with a large group on Feb 10 celebrating Valentines and the band was amazing and the drinks were also!

Looked promising, the ambiance was nice, the bartender was great, and crafted a couple of delish cocktails...however the food from the kitchen was subpar. We finished our drinks, paid our bill and headed to Morton's for a light diner.

Yelba was an awesome band to accompany my vaguely directed drink requirements for my crew tonight BRADLEY hooked a brother up!! Phenomenal experience!! I highly recommend it! Ask for Bradley!!

I stopped by The Refuge Bar & Bistro on a Saturday night for some drinks. Located in The Waterway District, I love this part of The Woodlands as it makes for a great area to bar hop and walk around. Especially at night when the waterway is lit up. They had some live music when we were there and there's a long bar close to the mini stage. We watched everything from a distance as they do have a small area overlooking everything with some comfortable sofas. We had a waiter too. Kind of felt like we were in the VIP area. Refuge has a pretty extensive cocktail list so we stuck with that. The cocktails delivered and service was on point. Definitely the type of spot I'd return to though I will say the crowd is a little older than other spots on the waterway.

Bartender Caleb is solely responsible for regaining us as customers. We had visited in the past and found a few too many negatives in service etc. so, we continued to look for new spots. We decided to come in for HH a few days ago and were pleasantly surprised by Caleb's warmth, bar skills and all around integrity. He's a gem and we will be back soon!

My wife and I really enjoy The Refuge bar. We have been several times and have sat inside the bar as well as outside on the couches. While the appetizers we have had were just so so. The drinks have always been great. A few of our favorites are, the old fashioned, Blueberry Field, and the rosemary lemon drop. Caleb is by far the best bartender and has made sure that we have received excellent service and drinks each time.

Stopped by on the first night of Fall in Houston to enjoy some outdoor time with the pups. Most patrons are likely here for the classy indoor bar, but it should be known that there is cozy outdoor seating right at the entrance of the establishment. We were sat with our medium & large-sized dogs and greeted with waters for all. It was quick & easy to make our drink selections, as their cocktail menu is sorted by flavor profiles. Additionally, the food choices reflect shareable social plates. This is a great spot for quick meet ups over tasty drinks and bites to nosh on. The burrata was particularly creamy, juxtaposing crunchy crostinis blissfully. At the end of the day, my only complaint is that the server became increasingly absent as the indoor area got busier. Overall, it's a great place to hang out with your friends, enjoy some excellent food and drinks and take in the cool weather.

We tried this establishment this past Sat and it had a really nice ambiance. The food was good especially the truffle fries!! Our server was very attentive and was helpful answering questions and recommendations. They also have live music on the patio as well as heated lamps.

Great service and atmosphere. Drinks are outstanding. Haven't had any food, so can't give an opinion there. I look forward to going back.

New management is rude and created a snobby and unfriendly environment. Food and drinks are over priced and the portions are small.
