The Raven Grill

We had a good takeout dinner from Raven Grill--I really liked my salmon salad, and the molten chocolate cake (kind of a combo of souffle and brownie) was great. My friends liked their enchiladas too. Solid choice!

This a rustic warm restaurant filled mostly with people from Rice University, college professors etc. the service was excellent and very attentive. The food was good not excellent. We ordered a Caesar salad which they slip for us. It was fresh but lacking flavor. I ordered the cedar plank salmon. It was very good. The portion was adequate. My husband ordered the pasta with shrimp. That was very good. It's a pleasant place and I will visit it again.

I've been going here for 25 years! Nice Southampton neighborhood spot. There's a small outdoor patio. Good ambiance and service. Love the tower of onion rings with fried poblano peppers. The chicken fried steak is soooo good!

I do not know how I was not aware of this gem, but am glad I know now! We stopped by after an event at our grandson's school. Our server was Martha and she was fantastic! I ordered the chicken enchiladas and The Outlaw. The Outlaw martini did not disappoint! Delicious! The enchiladas and rice and beans were so flavorful. My husband ordered the bacon wrapped filet. It was amazing! The manager, Mel, came over to welcome us and was so nice! We cannot wait to return!

The Raven Grill will certainly be one of our favorite restaurants in the Rice Village area. The atmosphere was calm and relaxing. The food was excellent! We started with the smoked salmon deviled eggs and wow they were greMy husband had the meatloaf with garlic mashed potatoes and green beans. I had the cedar plank salmon with the potatoes and spinach. We had the carrot cake for desert. Everything was sooooo good. The service was professional and friendly. The restaurant was clean. We will definitely be back next time we're in Houston. Give this place a try. You won't be disappointed.

This is a cute little restaurant in Montrose with an outdoor patio. I've been there a few times, and have been happy with the food and service. They don't have a lot of vegetarian options, but they have enough to still make this a good choice for vegetarians. They also have a pretty nice wine selection.

We decided to try out the Raven Grill for my daughter's birthday. She picked the restaurant and from reviews it looked pretty good. The ambiance was nice when we entered and we were seated immediately. Waiter was friendly and brought our bread and butter. Bread was homemade. We had a rosemary bread and a raisin bread. Both were delicious. We tried to order smoked salmon deviled eggs for appetizers per reviews but they were all out. we ordered Jalapeño shrimp and baked Brie. Both were delicious but baked Brie was more mushroom than Brie. We also ordered a nice bottle of Cabernet.For main course we ordered plank salmon, meatloaf, Raven burger and Cajun chicken pasta. Salmon was cooked perfectly, but I was perplexed about why it was on top of undressed salad mix and big pile of mashed potatoes. I had to ask for salad dressing. My husband had the meatloaf and loved it. The burger and pasta were sizable and had some leftovers. We had to order the carrot cake which was quite big and delicious. I thought it was a little dry but family loved it.Overall good ambiance, good service and good food. Definitely recommend!!

We were disappointed on our first visit to the Raven. It was a Sunday night about 75 minutes before they were scheduled to close. My wife had Pecan Crusted Chicken. She thought the chicken was dry and may have been cooked earlier and reheated. I had a Po Boy fish sandwich. I felt it was relatively tasteless compared to other Po Boys I've had in the past.

Great food and friendly service until we told our server that my spouse Irish Coffee didn't seem right. They served a coffee with Irish cream and what she ordered (and what is on the menu) is traditional Irish coffee. The bartender proceeded to come to our table and tell us we were wrong (he was clearly angry) and that we would have to agree to disagree, meaning we pay for something we didn't order. This really ruined the whole experience for me.

The food and staff are amazing! We frequent this establishment and they have been consistent in these aspects. There's an outside dining area. However we tend to dine inside. Noise levels permit good conversation.
